About this condo rental
Life in the City - your home away from home in Central London! A cool top floor penthouse apartment offering 110 sqm of living space, including a 40 sqm decked terrace overlooking the financial city. You'll be in the heart of the city - the buzz (and delicious food) of the market street below by day, the quiet you need to rest by night. The penthouse is a newly built conversion on top of what used to be a pub-house (turned into a cool and lively cafe) and is great both for business visitors to London (walking distance to the City, 2 stops from Kings Cross), as well as tourists (a 10 min walk to St. Paul's and from there take the tube to Oxford street or cross the river over to the Tate Modern for example). The 40 sqm decked terrace of the flat with expansive views on the City is what makes this place special and is a great end of day destination and a nice brunch/lunch spot any time of the week (London weather permitting). The master bedroom has a king-size bed, the smaller bedroom has a reclining sofa, that can sleep two. The bathroom has a bathtub as well as a separate shower. Fully equipped kitchen, including a blender (great for smoothies any time of day), juice press (to satisfy your thirst for fresh orange juice) and a Nespresso coffee machine to help you wake up in the morning. A large oven and stove as well as a microwave, for those who feel the need to cook at home, although there are a bunch of great places at your doorstep (Turkish, sushi, Vegan, Thai, Indian, Italian, Ramen noodles and more). For groceries, Waitrose supermarket is just down the street. Please note, the penthouse is situated on the top (3rd) floor of an old pub house conversion. As such, there is no lift in the building, not recommended for guests who may have mobility problems. The flip side of the walk up the stairs are the sweeping views of the city from the large outdoor space of the terrace. Walking distance to St. Paul's cathedral, Tate Modern, Tower bridge, etc. Close to 3 metro stops/5 metro lines: Barbican, Old Street and St. Paul's. Open market on Whitecross is fun and delicious! Who loves it: business travellers; solo travellers; families with kids; couples or friends visiting London for the weekend; At your doorstep: the Barbican; Guildhall school of music; Smithfields; Shoreditch; Kingscross St Pancrass; Sandlers Wells; Bank of England;

This spot was clean and spacious with quick access to great restaurants and fresh coffee. Fun neighborhood with a short walk to the underground. Would recommend and stay again.

The home is lovely with everything we needed for our stay. In a quiet neighborhood close to two tube stops, it was perfect. The owner is friendly and helpful.

Lovely flat! Close to everything we needed to discover London. Really enjoyed the terrace at night with the views. Would definitely stay again when we hopefully get back to London!

We enjoyed our recent stay at this property. Thanks to the owner for communicating promptly, especially as our arrival was a little different to normal. Four persons is a squeeze, but the couch worked as a bed. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was great (note that the range hood is very low and I kept banging my head, you would think I would have learned). The stairs are quite steep and narrow, your blood will really be pumping by the time you get to the top. And the local area there is every type of cuisine you might desire and as an added bonus a weekday lunch market operates with 30 or so different foods for under £10 or so. Most buses you need are a five minute walk and the tube, typically from the Barbican which is a 10 minute walk. It’s very close to central London proper so you can enjoy the touristy trips with ease. All in all, good value and a great location.

This was a perfect place for our family of four to stay. We enjoyed the area and could easily get around the city from this spot. Milena was an excellent host and always quick to respond. We could tell that she genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. We talked about getting a hotel room, but so glad we didn’t.

A fantastic place to stay in a great neighbourhood where people....and not only tourists exist. Waitrose is just down the street for all your grocery needs. 2 pubs (locals) are less than 2 min away. Stay here and ride the Tube from Old Street or Barbican and better yet, ride the NEW Elizabeth line to Farringdon for a short walk to the apartment. Milena was super great to work with. You will love this.

We had a wonderful time. Very well kept flat. Milena is an amazing host!

We had a wonderful stay. Communication with Milena was clear and the check in process easy. Spacious and spotless inside and we had wonderful weather to enjoy the terrace for coffee in mornings and several dinners outside. As others have noted there is no elevator so you do get your exercise!

Great location in a hip part of London. The images posted are accurate and we loved our stay here.
Milena may be the greatest host I have ever worked with, and I travel a great deal. Her communication and willingness to help, as well as sharing so much great info about the area goes above and beyond what I have seen.
Book this flat with confidence - was great for our family of four.

A nice week in a great location of London. Great location away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely terrace for enjoying the London skyline and excellent local food options nearby.

There were plenty of dining options on the street outside our door and even a a very nice grocery store. The street was quiet in the evenings. The location was within walking distance of several stations.

My teen daughters stayed a week at Milena’s property. It is really like your own home. Once you get over walking up the 3 flights of stairs you enter the apartment to view the amazing terrace where we spent many hours enjoying the view and warm weather. Even though location of keys is interesting , milenas very detailed communication makes it easy. Your nearest underground is either Barbican or old Street which are about an 8 minute walk. Apartment is spacious with 2nd bedroom suitable for 1 person. Would definitely recommend staying.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in mid-May. It was bright, clean, comfortable and modern. The location was perfect for us to walk most places or to take the tube from the Barbican Station to places farther out. We enjoyed many of the good restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. Milena was responsive and helpful. The terrace was a real bonus. We will recommend this place to our friends!

This apartment was absolutely fantastic. The outdoor patio is spacious just as described. In addition, the location is top notch. Everhthing you need to see is within zone 1 just as the apartment is. The bedroom sizes we great. Also, the daily market is fabulous. Perfect for our family of 4.

I came in to see an art show at the Barbican. It was super convenient. Apartment was clean, neighborhood was very quiet, and host was easily available to answer questions about the heat and keys. Much appreciated!

We had a lovely Stay in The Fantastic app. But there was a smell in the little room, that our grandson did’nt like to sleep in, so he slept on the couch in The Living room. We Think it was The smell from all The foodmaking on The streetmarket near by 😫😫
But every thing else was okay. Lots of stairs to The top 😫😫🙏

Great location. And just an overall great experience. Would definitely book this flat again.

This flat was absolutely a dream—it was central, well connected to public transportation, and close to many grocery stores and food spots. The flat itself was lovely and we really enjoyed having the terrace to ourselves! Additionally, we felt extremely safe in this neighborhood even when arriving back home late in the evenings. Note that this flat is up 4 flights of stairs, so it was a bit of a trek with heavy luggage.
Milena herself was an amazing host! She was attentive, responsive, and super accommodating when we requested a later checkout. Overall, this flat was honestly such a great spot to come back to after a long day out and about exploring and it felt equally as homey + cozy for a slow day in or for working remotely. Cannot recommend enough!

We spent a lovely extended week end there to attend the graduation ceremony of our daughter. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood (coffee shop and restaurant in the vinicity), is well served by buses and tube and ideally located closed to the centre. The apartment is cosy with a nice living area where you can enjoy a cool evening after a busy day visiting London. The owner was very helpful with timely and positive response to our requests. We can only recommend the place.

This place was a perfect size for our Christmas holiday—I would love to use it again in the summer to be able to use the outside deck space! That was an incredible bonus! Milena was so responsive to a few questions and so helpful!

Most the things are covered by the other reviews. Great location, beautiful place and very helpful host. In fact, we felt the living room & room kitchen are better than what you gather from descriptions and pictures. We came in cold December and it took a while for the apartment to get warm. But, afterwards it was a good time.

Milena is a fantastic host who communicated superbly with us prior to, during and after our stay. The flat was beautiful and made our stay in London so memorable.

Wonderful property in great location! Would highly recommend for a family staying in London!

This was a wonderful, central location. Italian restaurant and the corner was great as Two Brewers on the opposite corner was a great spot for a night cap after a long day of walking. Easy to get to multiple metro stops.

The location of the flat was WONDERFUL! Proximity to the Underground stations is unbeatable. You can literally get anywhere easily. It is in a great neighborhood with lots of character. The market down the street is convenient and the personnel friendly. Love the murals on the buildings near by. Street vendors were AWSOME. Beautiful well equipped flat, quiet and private. The deck was definitely a major bonus! We loved sitting out there enjoying our morning tea/coffee and evenings after our adventures of the day.

Location is nice, as is the view from rooftop, but much is lacking. Was planning to stay several nights but decided to move on to a hotel after just one night. Several elements to our decision including the following:
As soon as we arrived, the scent of air freshener was extremely overwhelming and permeated every part of the home. Our clothing carried this offensive scent for remainder of our London visit. Flies were abundant. We killed at least 20 of them within first hours of arrival. Refrigerator freezer was completely frozen over and door would not close properly. Was unable to use the refrigerator with any degree of confidence. Wi-Fi did not work. There is a TV, but no cable and it gets no channels. General cleanliness below par. The place was not at all cluttered, and it looked clean to the naked eye, but it became very clear that floors had not been swept or vacuumed in some time. Homeowner was responsive but most communication revolved around defending the issues we noted and reflecting back on previous stays which were more positive versus ours. I expect that any sort of response to this review will be more of the same. I asked for a refund for the days that we did not stay but to no avail. I understand that “technically” no such refund is available or required. So be it. Caveat Emptor. That’s on me.

Excellent spot, close to transportation for exploring the whole city.

Three of us spent a full week in Milena apartment.
The place is a great starting point to explore whole of London, as
you can get everywhere easily with the Tube as well as the buses,
that start in short walking distance
And in the evening, you don't sit in an anonymous hotel but can
relax in this wonderful flat with its huge roof terrace.

We loved our two week stay in Milena’s flat! She was the perfect host- welcoming, experienced, accessible, and responsive. The location was perfect! It is close to three tube stations. We actually walked “home” from Covent Garden on more than one gorgeous evening (about 45 min). The deck truly makes it for relaxing after long adventures out. The weekday delicious food trucks add a lively atmosphere that we were sure to enjoy. Restaurants on the same block were good and the nearby grocery had everything extra we wanted. For contemporary but casual living in the heart of London, this it the place to be.

Awesome Location, but A Lot of Stairs
We arrived on Saturday, July 9th. Unfortunately, the heat arrived with us. The flat is in a great location, about a ten to fifteen minute walk to St. Paul's Cathedral and short walk to the Barbican Tube Station. Retrieving the key to get into the flat was a wild treasure hunt, but we persevered in the end. The neighborhood is quiet and during the week there are food carts on the street during lunch time. The coffee shop on the first floor is great.
The flat is on top of a 3 story building, which means a lot of stairs and they are steep. There was record heat and being on the top of the building made the flat a heat box. Milena did order fans for us, but the heat was brutal. We spent most of our time on the terrace, which offers great views of the city and was the highlight of the flat.
Milena was very responsive and she can't control the weather. I would definitely recommend this flat, just try to avoid record heat.

Comfortable and perfect location
Perfect space for a family or a get away for a couple. In the middle of everything. Easy to get around. But be warned. Lots of steps to haul your bags up

Beautiful apartment with huge deck.
This is a lovely apartment, very clean and had a very complete kitchen, comfortable living room, large dining table, and large deck with view of the city. The main bedroom was very comfortable; smaller bedroom okay, with futon type bed. Our host was very helpful. She sent a PDF with lots of helpful info about the area and tips about things in the apartment. Check-in was a little more difficult because we arrived during the big train/tube strike, but our host found a solution that was workable.

Everything as described! :-)
We spent a wonderful Platinum Jubilee Weekend at Milenas flat. The flat is ideally located for London visitors, with Underground stations, St. Paul's Cathedral and the City in walking distance, also many restaurants just round the corner, also a breakfast café (Fast Break). The flat was exactly as described and as seen on the photographs. Communication with Milena was excellent and also her information booklet which covers any topic you might think of. I can fully recommend the place! Next time, though, I will only carry a small and light suitcase, the staircase is quite steep.

Wonderful flat and location
We had a wonderful stay at this flat. Milena was a wonderful host and anything we need or questions we had she was able to help us. I would recommend this place and the host. If we are back in London again we will stay here.

Great place in a GREAT neighborhood.
Booked this place due to location in London, plus the large balcony. Got the added bonus of a really cool neighborhood. About a 10 minute walk to the Barbicon Tube station. Only drawback was the 61 stairs ti climb to the 3rd floor, but if you want or need exercise (like me) it is well worth it!

OK
Die Wohnung und die Lage der Wohnung ist gut, allerdings ließ die Sauberkeit zu wünschen übrig (benutze Taschentücher usw).

The apartment is exactly as pictured in the listing. It’s spacious and clean. Having the outdoor terrace was a wonderful added bonus. Great communication from the host. The apartment is a quick walk to St. Paul’s Cathedral. We were also able to walk to Tower of London (a bit of a longer walk but very doable). Tube station nearby. The apartment is on the top floor with many stairs and no elevator so it would not be an option for people with mobility issues. We knew this when we booked and it wasn’t a problem for us. Lots of nearby restaurants, great coffee shop downstairs and daily outdoor food market. We had a wonderful stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
