Erholung in traumhafter Natur

Die Chaltes Silencio del Bosque sind in einem wunderschönen, liebevoll gepflegten Garten mitten in der Natur, überall fliegen Schmetterlinge und Kolibiris, allerlei bunte Vögel und Frösche können beobachet werden, und bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit kann man mit dem freundlichen Besitzer auf Froschtour gehen. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet und die Vögel werden direkt daneben gefüttert, so dass wir sie jeden morgen ganz nah beobachten konnten. Der Familienbetrieb wird mit viel Liebe zur Natur geführt und wir haben und sehr wohl gefühlt. Trotz unserer mangelnden Spanischkenntnisse konnten wir uns verständigen und es war stets jemand da, wenn man einen Wunsch oder eine Frage hatte. Die Gegend um La Fortuna bietet sehr viele Möglichkeiten für Aktivitäten, so dass die 3 Nächte dort eigentlich viel zu kurz waren. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.

Lieu incroyable à la végétation luxuriante, nous avons pu observer un très grand nombre d’animaux, et le personnel est adorable !

Un peu froid la nuit, peut-être prévoir de rajouter une couverture, sinon tout était parfait

A paradisiacal eco-lodge stay in the rainforest!

This is a family-run business who cannot do more for their guests! All of the staff were so lovely, helpful, and informative about nature including giving us fruit picked from the trees! The breakfast every morning was delicious (defo go for the typical Costa Rican breakfast) cooked by the owners. We also ate from their restaurant which was YUMMY! Thanks to Chalets Silencio , we had a perfect stay with you! The nature here is breathtaking, the flowers, trees, fruits and so many animals!!! Note that the location of the lodge is outside of downtown La Fortuna but it was perfect for us as that's exactly what we wanted for two nights before moving to a downtown location :)

Tudo foi perfeito! A atenção dos donos, a disponibilidade para ajudar e usar as instalações, o tour das rãs foi sensacional!! Passamos o Natal com a família e foi tudo muito agradável!! Hotel simples, mas vc se sente realmente no meio da floresta e desligado do mundo! De carro fica fácil ir para o centro da cidade e fazer alguns passeios. Muito bom mesmo! Voltaremos!!

Amazing authentic stay!!

A super nice experience close to the city (10 min drive?). If you are travelling solo like me and without a car I still recommend as it is great place to stay. They do pick ups. Very good recommendable option!

I couldn’t imagine staying at any other place that was adjacent to La Fortuna.

How exclusive it was and what was included in the price. As you ate a delicious breakfast, you not only had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere that included seeing so many types of birds (including a toucan) feasting on bananas. In the evening, a frog tour that entailed a leisure walk around the beautiful property. So many birds and so many frogs!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Ruhige Unterkunft in schöner Naturumgebung

Wir haben diese Unterkunft bereits vor einem Jahr besucht und damals war schon klar - kommen wir wieder nach La Fortuna, gehts zu Eduardo mit seiner Familie. Super ruhig in der Natur gelegen hatten wir eine tolle Zeit zum Ausklang unserer Reise. Es gab wieder die Abendrunde um den Teich, diesmal leider ohne Schlangensichtung :-) Dafür viele Vögel, inkl. Tucane + Aras. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Frühstück reichlich und zum Abend ging es diesmal in ihre neue Soda - sehr zu empfehlen, schon wegen der Begegnung mit Einheimischen dort und Abseits des Touritrubels. In Fortuna und den Thermalbädern ist man mit Auto in 10-20min, je nach Verkehr. Wir wünschen alles Gute und bedanken uns nochmals für die tollen Gespräche und sehr angenehme Beherbergung.

Nous ne recommandons pas!

Le tour pour observer les grenouilles très sympa.

Pas silencieux du tout. Du bruit très a proximité sur les 2 nuits passées. Ça colle pas trop avec le titre du logement. Aucun crochet pour suspendre les affaires mouillées afin de faire sécher. Un auvent serait bienvenu a l'extérieur pour pouvoir s'abriter et éviter de rester enfermés dedans quand il pleut. Boutons++ partout après les nuits --> puces de lit ?? (pas du tout des boutons de moustique...) Petit dej repas typique mais gras.

A little paradise

The hosts are super nice! We had a tour by Eduardo around their pond and saw frogs and some other fascinating animals. During day time there a various birds. We saw more animals in the garden than on our hikes :) a little paradise. The location is calm as it's not directly in La Fortuna, so many noises of animals around, it was marvelous.

There is nothing complain about.

Rustic chalet in the woods where waking up to all the birds was a treat and run by such a welcoming family. The frog tour at night was delightful. The detached shower and toilet were very clean.

Nowhere to hang any clothes.

Disappointing

The sounds of nature and the staff was very nice.

The mattress was old and very uncomfortable. The mosquito net was small and not placed in a good position. The windows have no mosquito net so I kept them closed and it was hot and stuffy in the space with them shut, I opened them in the morning and it was much better with then open. I just didn’t want to risk being bitten.

Delightful oasis of calm!

Owners extremely passionate about nature and eager to show guests their little slice of paradise. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Delicious Costa Rican breakfast with lots of fruit, local specialities for Semana Santa.

Far from restaurants in town, needing to drive at night. They offered a food delivery service from a local restaurant but seemingly only fried chicken and fries available.

Great staff

The stand out for me was how great the staff were, going out of their way to help us in any way they could and make our time an enjoyable one. They even took us out around at night to show the wildlife we were looking for, and also acted as a delivery service for us from one of the local restaurants, being friendly and humorous the entire time.

Little paradise on a budget

staying at chalets silencio del bosque was amazing. the garden is very beautifull full of flowers and birds in februari. next to the garden is jungle you can explore. eduardo and his wife are the most sweet and caring hosts, and make breakfast at your time of request. with google translate we were able to communicate since our spanish is very little. the chalets are clean and basic and have muskito nets. if you are not a couple, sleeping in one bed is an intimite experience. we got to go do the chocolat tour (including lunch and swimming in pool) at the organic farm of brother of the hostes. perfect local expierence. 50 dollar per person including lunch. my friend did a river-walking-tour with eduardo and had the best time. we will come back one day. the place is a 15 minute taxi ride from center of fortuna away.

Beautiful place, immersed in natural surroundings - vegetation, birds, frogs, reptiles. The hosts were very very kind and welcoming- warm, family atmosphere. We loved the frog tour at night, delicious home cooked meals and fresh juices, and cosy well equipped chalets. We visited Thermalitas with our children on their recommendation and it was great. Good location close to Volcano. Fantastic and definitely recommend.

It was great! I hope you stay here and have as much ch fun as we did!

We saw way more birds here than we did in Monteverde. The grounds are lovely. When we drove up to the cabin my 19 year old son said, “This place is dope!” (That’s a good thing.) We also saw tons of interesting looking frogs. Eduardo will take you out to find frogs in the evening…. the sound of the frogs and the birds and the rain was awesome.

Do not plan on doing hair or make-up here. It’s not that kind of place.

Perfect spot for privacy and nature lovers

The location is exceptional, remote enough from the hot spot Fortuna, but still close enough if you want to visit attractions. Everything is minimalistic, but we felt nothing else would have been needed. Close to a pond, so lots of mosquitoes and beautiful frogs. The rooms have fans, and the cabanas also nets. The hosts are such a pleasant couple.

We absolutely loved it and will stay here again if we return to Costa Rica

We loved staying in the little house! We ate breakfast and dinner right on the property and it was by far the best food we had in Costa Rica. One night we joined our hosts for a frog spotting expedition that was so fun for the kids.

The only thing I can think of is there are no screens in the windows. So once in for the night we could use fans to keep cool but not open windows because of the bugs.

Superb

The breakfast food was amazing and I wish we had eaten there for dinner. The location was right next to the jungle and there is a large group of dart frogs living just outside the parking lot.

My legs were too long for the bed and I couldn't fit under the mosquito net, so I got eaten alive. Screens on the windows would be nice. We also couldn't get the wifi to work.

An exceptional place of deep resourcing . Held by nature and people.

The location is exceptional. We were literally in the jungle at the edge of the natural reserve. The owners are beautiful and caring people . always helpful to respond to our needs.

The only thing we would suggest are mosquito nets on the windows and a table with chairs outside, so we could enjoy our meals in this otherworldly environment since we were cooking in our own kitchen.
