About this house rental
Located in Surfside Beach, this lovely house for R 11,659 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Both of our 5 bedroom oceanfront houses sit side by side in the popular Holiday Inn section of Ocean Lakes where there are only 13 oceanfront houses and both houses now sleep 14. This section is actually closest to the ocean in Ocean Lakes as you do not need binoculars as other sections do to see the ocean by looking across the basketball courts and playgrounds .You just walk down the steps from the house and 20 ft across Ocean Lakes private street for golf cart parking for houses that are farther back and you are there at the ocean access.We bought this house 5 years ago and immediately embarked on a 9 month renovation It is updated each and every year because we live local and we put a lot of money back into our houses each and every winter .This houses has just had a brand new kitchen installed along with new 1 st level vinyl flooring and new furniture and painting ,.There are flat screen tv's in all bedrooms and a large 50 inch flat screen in the living room ,bathrooms with updated nickel faucets and hardware and granite counter tops ,all updated ceiling fans and light fixtures .There is a outdoor enclosed shower with hot and cold water to wash away the sand and also a propane gas grill to cook outside..The outdoor furnitureon the deck with plenty of seating for all is all weather polywood and I have a combination of normal height seating along with higher counter height seating. The view from the decks are breathtaking once you have stayed oceanfront you will never want to stay anyplace else. The first level has a fully-furnished kitchen with Stainless Steel Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave, and large, side-by-side Refrigerator with ice and filtered water on the door, and features granite countertops . There is a high top table with setting for 6 plus setting for 4 at the kitchen counter bar and a living room nook table with seating for 2 while looking out at the ocean .The Living room features a brand new sectional sofa and has a 50 inch flat screen tv. On the main level is 2 queen bedrooms and one has a attached 1/2 bath plus there is a hallway full bathroom upstairs there is a king bedroom with oceanfront deck access plus another master king bedroom with deck access plus private bathroom and a twin trundle bed that is actually 2 twins or when trundle lifts will make into a second king in this bedroom.There is also a bunk room in the back with a full on the bottom and a twin on the top. All you have to do is bring your own paper products. .Cleaning products are provided to for you to clean up after yourself during your stay and combination departure cleaning fee and linen fee is $350 and is mandatory. Ocean Lakes is a family-oriented, 24-hour gated, security and patrolled community with a multitude of amenities.Ocean Lakes is located in Myrtle Beach and is the most complete Oceanfront campground on the east coast.With nearly a mile of privately owned beachfront,it features eight fresh water lakes,a recreaction center with supervised activities for children such as day camps,fire engine rides and playground activities. Facilities on site in the campground include a heated indoor pool a outdoor olympic size pool & three kiddie pools and new in 2016 is a full size water park,golf cart rental,three snack bars and a arcade with 80+ games,a outdoor theatre with scheduled events,playgrounds, basketball, shuffle board, miniature golf,a full-time recreation staff, and a mile of beach all within the community grounds. *Please note that because Ocean Lakes is a family-oriented community the rental of this house is intended for couples and families 28 or older and not a group of young singles** *This house will sleep a maximum of 10 adults in 5 bedrooms or 10 adults and 4 children including the bunk beds* Upon arrival at Ocean Lakes you will need to register your vehicle and pay Ocean Lakes directly $10 or current rate per day for parking pass. From Memorial Day to Octobar 1 I will only accept weekly rentals Saturday to Saturday. Check in time is 3:00 pm ckeck out time is 10:00 am A small (and I really do mean small) crate trained dog will be considered but you must inquire first by providing breed and weight .

This was a family planned trip, at the end it ended up being me and my 80-year-old mom. It was the perfect place; she cannot go like she used to. She has always loved the ocean; this house makes you feel as though you are sitting right on the ocean. The layout is perfect for a large group, although it was just the two of us. Deb had everything ready for us when we arrived, and was great to communicate everything ahead of time, so you are not waiting the day of for details, which made the travel day more relaxing. Unfortunately, we picked up a nail when riding to look at decorations in the golf cart. Let me say, I called Deb, and she immediately had the cart picked up and by the time we went exploring and came back, the cart was sitting there waiting and ready. Deb deserves a ten star, but they only allow five. Thank you, Deb, we hope to come stay again!

I truly loved this vacation home. It was as advertised and very convenient being right at the entrance to the beach with having small children with us. The house was beautiful and everything you could need was provided. I loved the deck just relaxing and looking out at the Ocean. Deb was very accommodating and even kept in touch after a bad storm where everyone lost power. This is the perfect home for a family vacation. Can’t wait to return again.

We’ve stayed in several of the true ocean front houses at Ocean Lakes and this house was far and away the nicest of the ones we’ve stayed in. You can tell that the owners have a lot of pride in their home and that they’ve worked hard to update it. Deb was easy to communicate with and timely with the check in information for Ocean Lakes. The house was well equipped and accurately represented in the posting. We enjoyed using the grill and we’re grateful that it was included! The house was clean, spacious, and cozy. It suited the needs of our extended family well. We would rent this house again without hesitation.

The exterior of this property is beautiful and it sits right on the ocean. It’s a shame that the owner has not updated the interior property and that it’s in such poor condition. First, our experience with the property owner. They did not give us codes to the house until we came into town, which makes it very worrisome that we will not be able to get into the house when we get there. They were much more concerned about getting IDs ages names, etc. versus making us feel welcome. For a typical expensive beach house the furniture was old, window treatments were falling off the walls, The pans in the kitchen are old and scratched and difficult to cook with. You can feel the coils in the beds and the mattresses are very old and stained. Old matted carpets in the bedrooms are also very disgusting. For the amount of money that we pay for oceanfront, we should have had a better experience. Don’t bother to rent the golf cart either. It’s very old, rusted, has transmission issues and shifts very poorly. Rent a golf cart from Ocean Lakes instead. Buyer Beware.

The beach house is great, location to the beach is great. Parking multiple large vehicles can be tight, but can be done! We had 10 people, house didn’t feel too small. It rained a bit while we were there, so eating inside had to be strategic so the younger kids wouldn’t make a mess.
Only gripes that the home owner has no control over, called the camp ground the day before to see how early we could get parking passes. They said anytime and that there was overflow parking that could be used until the house was ready, but there was no place to park. We slowly did our grocery shopping and the house was ready early! Also being close to the end of the pool season, staffing was limited so the pool or slides were not always open during their time frame.

Family friendly beach retreat.
I tend to be very scattered brained and Deb was incredibly helpful in the whole renting process. She was very timely in her communication and beyond helpful with walking me through the steps. I can not even begin to put into words how perfect the house was for our mixed age party of 9. The decor added to the whole beach vibe...not that u couldn't just walk out the back patio door to see the beach/ocean or be on the beach in seconds. The location was fabulous. Very short drive to many attractions and resturants, if you aren't just wanting to relax at the beach/house. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc...We were able to cook almost every meal at the house(we chose to eat out twice). The campground has so many activites on site that we really didn't have to go anywhere else if we didn't want to. I can not say enough good things about Deb and her beautiful home. It was definetly our home away from home for the week. I am forever grateful for the wonderful experiences and memories we were able to create due to being able to rent Deb's home. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else if I am fortunate enough to make a return trip.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was well appointed, comfortable, and, even with full beaches in front of the home, the house seemed very private. Deb Luber was fantastic to work with, and as our son was getting married in Myrtle Beach, the ease and comfort of the home was just what the doctor ordered.

The house was nicely decorated and had plenty of stuff in the kitchen. It did lack storage containers such as Tupperware and the wine opener did not work. The house was nice and provided ample sleeping for 12. However the living area is small and tight and with 4 adults and 2 kids it was ok. With 12 I doubt you could do it. The seating on the deck accommodated a lot of people but the chairs were not comfortable. Other homes had lounge chairs and swings. We also experience a significant leak in the living room that ruined some Christmas presents. We did notify the owner. We had issues with palmetto bugs/roaches in the decking and some inside. More pest control is needed. A golf cart is highly recommended to get around to all of the activities.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! It was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The view was perfect and the home was located in a quieter part of the campground. I agree with a previous renter's review that hopefully the beds will be upgraded because they weren't very comfortable but wouldn't keep me from staying there again. It is the nicest home we've rented in Ocean Lakes.

Just what we needed!
We booked our family vacation in the fall of 2019 for the summer of 2020. The booking process was smooth and the owner answered all of our questions.
Fast forward to 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic... the owner stayed in communication with us in regards to what was happening at Ocean Lakes and the surrounding area. She made us feel at ease if we needed to switch dates and gave us other options. Luckily, things started to open and we were able to keep our original date.
As we sat on the porch of this amazing house, we realized this is what we needed. We were able to take our masks off and enjoy the ocean air. We laughed, made memories and can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend this property and owner!

We had a wonderful stay. Great access to the beach, just steps away from the sand. The balcony was great for people watching. The house was neat and clean. You can tell the owner is making updates to the house, hopefully, the beds will be next on the list, not very comfortable. Overall, great location and nice house.
