Enjoyed a wonderfully quiet stay at my cousin's cottage. Everything was spotless and tidy. Loved seeing the old photos and memorabilia on the walls. Especially loved the various spots to sit and read, either on the dock or up under the pines. The location of this cottage is unparalleled with beautiful views. The canoe is a bit tricky to get out but once in the water was fun to paddle around in and explore the shoreline.
Thank you, Joan!

This property exceeded our expectations. Simple and rustic yet it has everything you need for a trip away from the busyness of life. Our hosts were amazing. There is so much to do in the area, including hiking, fishing, canoeing on the beautiful lake, or simply relaxing to read a book or enjoy the sunset. The cottage is unique - a real treasure. Thank you Joan!

Beautifully-kept summer cottage ! Classic, cosy, comfortable west-facing forest grove on a quiet lake. Sunny dock and small bluff at the water’s edge. Tranquil setting, dog-friendly, great place to read & write. Handy to Haliburton village.

Beautiful tranquil rustic property on the lake. Great fishing & swimming right off the dock. We had deer, hummingbirds, loons and a family of ducks come visit. Very peaceful and close to Haliburton for all amenities and a great farmers market on Tuesdays. Joan is a wonderful host!

We had an amazing time. We did lots of fishing which caught many fish. The tranquility of the lake itself was gorgeous to watch. We really enjoyed the sunsets, the hummingbirds, the deer, the chipmunks, lots of blue Jay birds etc.
The cottage was what we expected...old fashioned but clean and very cozy. We just loved everything!!!

Excellent communication by the property owner Joan who met with us upon arrival and responded promptly to a few inquiries during our week. We love Joan's family cottage. It's a beautiful natural setting property on a lovely large and deep lake. Enjoyed my daily dive from the dock ! Well equipped kitchen was great for meal preparation. The bathroom being in a separate building might not be for everyone but we were good with it. We hope to return !

Lovely rustic cottage. Get place to read, swim and canoe. Lake was quiet during our week stay. On a lovely point that seemed to always have a light breeze ... very few mosquitoes. Great location very close to Halliburton

I had such a wonderful week on Soyers Lake. The property was both beautiful and private and the cottage was quaint and cozy with all sorts of Family nostalgia to look at. Kayaking, meteor showers, loon calls, great food and drinks with friends. A little slice of tranquility and joy. Thank you.

This is a lovely old traditional three-season cottage with a great concrete dock that has a perfect view of the sunsets. It perfectly fitted our group of five for sleeping. When the nights got a little cool the little wood stove warmed us up nicely. The canoe allowed us to explore the bay we were in fully. The property has a sand shoreline and even a little beach which would be great for small children, but I enjoyed it too. Likely one of the nicest sections of the lake. The neighbours were all very friendly. Joan was a great and helpful host, giving us a full tour to get started and discreetly inquiring into our welfare during our stay and answering any questions. If you are are interested in getting away from most technology (there is weak LTE service) and enjoying the experience of a traditional rustic cottage, you can do no better than this.

Normally we are world travellers but covid has clipped our wings. A perfect little getaway from the tedium and heat of the city. Joan met us on arrival and gave us a thorough tour of Hemlock Haven. She stayed in touch during the week covering anything we could ever need. The cottage was picturesque and very clean. The waterfront is most inviting and a little bunkhouse makes additional guests possible. I would return to this place if we need a cottage again and highly recommend it for anyone who likes to enjoy a traditional cottage with a comfortable interior and pretty landscape outside!

Hemlock Haven certainly lived up to its name. The property was awesome— both dock and beach were perfect, the cottage itself was cozy and Joan the host was great and always responsive. Would totally stay here again.

It's not every day that you get the opportunity to stay in an original 1940's Haliburton Cottage. It's filled with history with family mementos in the cottage, bunk house and boat house. It has good fishing right off the dock, and lots of wildlife around. The loons calling on the water makes it very relaxing. Joan was a great host, checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Beds were comfortable and the pictures and cottage were as described. It was larger than expected. We loved it all! Thank you Joan!!
