***Just a Note*** While we allow dogs, please note that there is an additional Pet Fee that you will add when booking. We DO NOT allow any aggressive breeds or cats. Our 1939 Bonaire Bahamian Bungalow has been totally updated in the Art Deco style of the 1930s. It is located on a corner at the juncture of two brick paved streets with a lovely front and backyard, and shaded tree canopies. One block to the village for dining & shopping, and two blocks to the beach. The original heart pine floors have been refinished throughout the entire house. Featuring two good-sized bedrooms with lots of light, one bath with tub/shower, large kitchen with breakfast bar, Olde Florida screened porch with jalousie windows, enclosed breezeway off kitchen, opening to private outdoor deck, and paved drive for your car. Complete updates of bath include: all new subway tile surround, new tub & fixtures, new HE toilet & vintage-style pedestal sink. Large glass block window over tub, lighted magnifying makeup mirror, retro sconce lighting, and marble tile floor. Kitchen update includes: Samsung stainless steel French door frig, flat-top electric range & micro, dishwasher, farmhouse apron-front sink with Groehe faucet, all new white beadboard cabinets, quartz countertops, and a breakfast bar with USB ports. Breezeway off kitchen has a dining table, plus chairs for lounging. Deck includes table for 6 with umbrella & BBQ grill, privacy fencing & large palms and an OUTDOOR SHOWER! Olde Florida screened porch has sofa, chairs, tables & lamps, plus a ceiling fan to bring in cool breezes. The perfect place for the kids or the adults to hang out or even sleep. There is a small deck off the front porch with a Bistro table and chairs. The entire house, including front porch and breezeway, are centrally air conditioned & heated. Bedrooms feature new beds, linens, ceiling fans, TVs & Venetian blinds. Kitchen and living room have white Plantation shutters for that Bahamian feel. Living room features a flat screen TV, 3 comfy chairs, plus a desk for your laptop. Laundry is located in the garage with new Samsung washer & dryer, and laundry tub. Garage floor has been finished with gleaming epoxy paint. We will supply you with a beach wagon & 4 beach chairs, plus a cooler & beach umbrella. Pride of ownership truly shines in this carefully renovated 2BR 1BA retreat in the heart of old Gulfport a block from the main street. A compact home typical of the area, beautifully reimagined with top-notch decoration, furnishings and equipment. Everything works as it should Recent, high-quality mattresses and seatings throughout. Very walkable with bikes at the ready. Gulfport Beach 1/4m, Walgreens 3/4m, Save-a-Lot 4/5m. EVCS right across the street. Quiet, friendly neighborhood in the progressive and peaceful Gulfport community. Sit on the porch and folks strolling past will tell you how much they love your house!

Cannot recommend the property, host or location more highly- it’s everything you could want in a home away from home and everything is quality! Such a rare treat! The property is a block to downtown Gulfport, two blocks to the beach and has a private fenced deck, front porch, sunroom, living room, two bedrooms and well appointed kitchen (with counter space for 2-3), and a small dining table in the mud room. The host is kind and responsive. Unfortunately there was a bit of an issue with the sofa, but I believe that will be resolved for the next guest. We look forward to staying again if we return to Gulfport!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. The house is located just one block from all the shops and restaurants in Gulfport. We had fun eating at the different restaurants and going through the shops and art galleries. The house is decorated in a beach theme that ties in perfectly with the Gulfport vibe. The owner Lysa is so nice and very responsive to any questions we had during our stay.
This is a perfect place to stay if you are visiting Gulfport or any of the other communities in the area. We highly recommend this property and we look forward to staying here again in the future.

This is a very nice home that is decorated beautifully with quality furnishings. We had plenty of room with the added Florida room. The beds were luxuriously comfortable. I wish I could only duplicate it at my home, it was so perfect!
We were 1 block from town, yet heard very little noise after 9 pm (even though it was a special event weekend). It was an easy walk to the beach.
Lisa was very quick to answer and solve any questions or issues we had. You can tell her goal is to have things right and nice for her guests.
I could not be more pleased with our time here and would definitely try to book here first the next time we come to Gulfport.

Best VRBO experience to date, and there have been many! This beautiful bungalow feels like home and is beautifully decorated with much thought put into every detail! Lysa was a joy to work with. We are already planning our next stay,! Can’t wait to return to Gulfport!

Spacious and beautiful, we had a great time here! Our favourite time was the mornings on the porch, drinking coffee and tea, watching the neighborhood come to life. A lot of good places to eat only a block away. Gulfport has a great laid back vibe that we thoroughly enjoyed. We came during a heatwave so the water at the local beach was too hot to cool down in, but a lot of other beaches are within short driving range so we went there instead. We really enjoyed this house, and totally recommend it!

Perfect beach getaway
My family and I made a last minute decision to get away for a week and came across this perfect little bungalow that also allowed us to bring our 2 daschunds as well.
Great location to numerous beaches, Gulfport has some great restaurants and seafood markets
Lysa was so responsive when we had an issue with the internet
The house was perfect and cozy and so clean!!
Also all cooking tools, washer and dryer all very nice condition
We could not have asked for a better getaway

Charming Home in Great Location
The home is very charming from the shutters, glass knobs, painted garage door, and so much more. You'll find everything you need for your stay, including beach amenities. It was so nice to have the folding wagon, chairs, coolers, and beach towels. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the home. It was a blessing to us to be able to have our dogs with us. There is plenty of space to set up dog crates to keep your pets safe while you're away. Be mindful of the wood floors and put a rug under the crate to protect the beauty of these old floors.
It is a short walk to restaurants and entertainment. The town (except for the beach) is very dog friendly. The food was delicious. We ate at Siri three times during our stay because there is a great menu and prices are fair. The location of the home is also a short drive to St. Pete and other lovely beaches, like Upham Beach. It's a short drive to Pass-A-Grille Beach (dogs must be leashed) or Fort DeSoto (dogs off leash) where you can take your dogs for a swim.
There's so much to see and do! The charm and location of this home will make you want to stay or come back soon.

Perfect Cottage Getaway
We had a great experience with this property. Check-in was a breeze, and the property itself was very well kept. We loved the walking-distance restaurants and shops, and the proximity of several beaches.

Adorable cottage
Cottage was exactly as shown in the photos. Very clean. Owners were extremely responsive. One block to main street in Gulfport with shops and restaurants and a couple of blocks to the beach/water. Always live music nearby so if you want it quiet during the day, it may not be the place for you. But very quiet at night. Love that our dog was allowed to stay!

wonderful stay!
My family absolutely loved our stay here! What a well-thought out rental property, in a superb location. We had everything we needed, from kitchen equipment to beach umbrellas. The lovely rooms are beautifully and comfortably furnished, with ceiling fans (as well as AC) and an outdoor shower. The house is situated in a super cute neighbourhood, just one block from the charming main street and two blocks from the beach. We'd go back in a flash! (and certainly hope to!) Highly recommended.

The bungalow was PERFECT
It was a prime location for the beach, restaurants and businesses. We walked everywhere with no need for a vehicle. The bungalow was very clean and had everything we needed. We have already scheduled another stay for next May. We could not be happier with our stay.

We stayed in this home for 10 days and we enjoyed our stay.
The location was perfect for us as we were there for work, to visit friends and family. This was perfectly central to everyone we needed to see.
Items to keep in mind:
* The beach items are old and very battered. We brought our own, so it was not an issue for us. The beach cart was great though.
* There are very few extra blankets. Again, we brought own own, so it was fine.
* The door snobs are the vintage type (which were very charming) and were difficult to use and keep the doors shut. The bathroom knob came off completely, but hubby was able to fix it. They had tools in the garage and that was very helpful.
Overall we loved our stay. I will note that we informed the host of having 2 Labradors and obtained full approval ahead of time. During our stay, we swept as much as we could and took every precaution we could to keep the pups off the furniture. We brought our own water proof furniture covers and throws to protect just in case they got up on the furniture while we were out. (They are allowed on the furniture at home). They had no accidents and did not chew anything.(They are well trained with that). We picked up after them outside as soon as possible. All this being said, with hardwood flooring, high temps and humidity, I would not recommend this property to anyone with larger dogs that shed. The owner was upset with the amount of dog hair. There was not much more we could have done to take care of that situation.

The king sized bed in the master bedroom was nice, but we think it's closer to a "soft" feel than a "medium." Keep that in mind if you're particular on mattresses.
If you're looking for bigger waves, like Clearwater or Fort De Soto, remember the bay here won't give you that kind of ocean experience. The gulfport beach was nice and not crowded, but a little more algae/seaweed than we anticipated.
Overall, we highly recommend this VRBO!

The photos don’t do this place justice. Beautifully maintained, bright, cheery, clean and cozy. The house is perfect. The location is great, especially if you have a car to get to the larger beaches outside of the local one. My only regret is that we didn’t book a longer stay. We look forward to our next visit!
