About this house rental
Located in Zilker, this attractive house for R 6,428 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Charming two-bedroom home with a distinctive southwestern Austin style. Easy walk to Zilker Park (the site of ACL Music Festival), Lady Bird Lake, hike-and-bike trails, Barton Springs, restaurants and food trucks, and the Barton Creek Greenbelt. it's a short driving distance to nearby clubs and neighborhoods, including downtown and South Congress Avenue. Please note: We cannot accommodate check-ins less than 5 days in advance or long-term stays for more than five days. We also can only accommodate 5 people or less to provide the most comfortable environment for you! Our house features a king and queen-sized bed in two bedrooms with one bathroom. There is also a non-foldout sofa which can serve as an extra bed for one person. We have just added a Stock Tank Pool, a perfect place to relax and cool off during our Texas summers! The house has a big fenced backyard that lends itself to hanging out in good weather. There is a firepit and the stock tank pool available when circumstances permit. (Please note owners cannot be responsible for any mishaps resulting from the use of either the firepit or the pool). This home has an "Austin" feel in an incredible neighborhood and is close to everything you're looking for in a visit to Austin! The house is thoroughly disinfected between guests and has been occupied by the owners only. Contactless check-in is the standard at this time. Awesome location for attending ACL Festival! We were able to walk to Zilker Park & Barton Springs. The house was cozy & had all the amenities we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Great location in Zilker Park area and close to just about everything in the downtown area. Great restaurants within a very short drive, though a tad too far to walk. Major grocery stores about 10 minutes by car. Neighborhood is very nice and felt very safe, a mix of older and newer homes. Mostly professional people and retirees. Not many students in this area. We did some late night walking and felt very safe. House was older but clean and had a well stocked kitchen, refrigerator and complimentary margarita bar! House has a quirky Austin vibe with lots of music posters and Southwest art. Beds were comfortable. Would stay here again.

This was such a great home to stay in while we were in town visiting family. It was so cozy and comfortable - had everything and more than we could have possibly needed. Great location just across the river from downtown Austin and just down the street from so many great restaurants and shopping! Plenty of room for our little family of four and a great backyard to hang out in and enjoy the beautiful weather. We will definitely stay here again!

The home had everything I needed and the hosts were incredibly generous with pantry and refrigerator items - all the way down to fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and breakfast taco fixings. Great old Austin / Sante Fe / West Texas vibe with decor. Comfortable beds and pillows. Fresh herbs in the garden plots. And even some hens nearby to delight you with their funny calls. Close to all the central/south Austin attractions. Great spot!

John and Kathy were gracious, generous, and responsive hosts. Their home was perfect for my wife and me as a home base for exploring the Austin area. We were able to walk to downtown, the Barton Creek greenbelt, and the Zilker Botanical Garden. All wonderful walks. The home was as presented online. The kitchen and home was well supplied with everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We will return if ever in Austin again. Thank you John and Kathy!

We have stayed many times here as we come to Austin frequently. This is a comfortable house in a great neighborhood. Margaritas and breakfast tacos are always much appreciated and make for a warm welcome. Thanks again for sharing this gem with us.

Charming South Austin house
The house in South Austin is charming and has delights for the eye in every room.
The fenced backyard was ideal for our dog and great for relaxing in under the shady trees.
The owners are very gracious hosts and provide margarita fixings as well as the ingredients for breakfast tacos which we enjoyed immensely.

We loved staying in this charming home, full of beautiful art, interesting books and music.
Our Austin weekend was enriched by the experience from of staying in this great little house. We cooked, read and listened to music to our hearts’ content and had relatives and friends over to eat and play games. Our dogs loved the big backyard. It was a little cold and wet to check out the fire pit, but we enjoyed the indoor fireplace. We’ll be back for sure!

We had a lovely stay, enjoying the comfort & charm of this beautiful home. The art work is interesting, the little lights strung in the garden are pretty, and there are so many cool books I wanted time to read them all. A comfy bed, full kitchen & host provided delicious breakfast & fixings for margaritas! Pretty perfect stay for my daughter’s wedding weekend:)

Awesome getaway in Austin

The house was just as pictured. The home was very clean and filled with interesting art.
We stayed for 2 nights with our dog. We enjoyed the house a great deal. The bed was very comfortable and the location was great. Margaritas and breakfast taco fixings were a thoughtful feature.

We enjoyed our stay so much. Delicious margaritas to greet us and a charming and comfortable house with a great shady backyard. The host provided the fixings for breakfast tacos which were quite tasty. Good location for running on the trail in Zilker. All around great stay!

This charming home is just as advertised. Our group of two retired couples found this home quite perfect for our needs. It’s close to everything Austin including the airport. And perfectly thoughtful to offer their printer for our boarding passes on our last day.
The living space is cozy and comfortable. The music and book collection is astounding. The memorabilia and photos are hung proudly as they should. In short, everything was perfect for us!

A gem in the heart of Barton Hills/Zilker
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at this unique, art and book-filled home. It is within walking distance to everything Austin has to offer, from restaurants and bars (a great bakery is just a block away) to the Town Lake hike and bike trail, Zilker park, Barton Springs. The home feels both cozy and spacious, with a great flow. Our party of three were just steps from one another at any given time, and yet we each had out own space (the light-filled family room is a fantastic spot to read and chill out). The backyard space feels private, yet open, with lots of beautiful live oak trees for the perfect amount of shade. Plus, we were welcomed to the home with margaritas and enough food for breakfast the next morning (after a very long drive we were immensely grateful not to have to go to the store). Our experience could not have been better!

We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was perfect for using the fire pit and we enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere. The house has a lot of character and charm.

Mother/daughter reunion!
Due to COVID, I hadn’t seen my daughter who lives in Austin in 10 months. This house was perfect! Walking distance to her work (The ABGB) and her home. The large backyard was just what we needed to social distance. The fully equipped kitchen allowed me to cook all of our favorites. When she went home the extensive arts collections kept me totally enthralled! Thank you for the best home! I’ll be back soon!
