The castle itself was fabulous.
We ordered the room service breakfast, which was very overpriced and ended up coming without half the items. I didn't bother attempting to complain as had previously found the staff quite unhelpful. There was also supposedly room service available until 9:30pm however the kitchen closes between 3:00pm and 8:30pm, which was disappointing on a day of terrential rain.

We are two cyclists on a ride from Cadiz to San Sebastian. Our needs are simple we seek a clean bed and a hot shower – the hotel provided both
Reception was welcoming and helpful – we arrived with a mechanical problem with our bikes - reception were able to find a local bike shop - ensure that the engineer was available - book a return taxi to help fix the problem and send us on our way - great service
We select the Parador chain for a touch of luxury and enjoy the lavish and expert restoration of historical buildings across Spain - This is one of the best and nicest conversions we have found - use of traditional walls and lay out that have been used by the designers is stuning
Excellent in every way - must be one of the top 5 Historical paradors

This Parador is an exquisite property in the exquisite historic small walled town of Olete. The hotel is incorporated in a section of a 13th-century fantasy castle complete with towers, turrets, dungeons and dragons. . It is really quite an extraordinary. place. With the exception of one critical misstep at check-in which I will describe below, our stay was flawless and the service sterling. We ate one night in the hotel's restaurant which was superb in both service and quality. This parador is worth every Euro you spend there.
Unfortunately, there was a hiccup at the time of check-in. I had booked and paid for a Superior Double Room. Prior to our arrival I had twice requested twin beds which was twice confirmed through booking messenger. I confirmed this a third time with the polite young gentleman at the front desk. But when we got to the room, it was a small drab room with one small double bed. We immediately turned around and went back down to the front desk. He seemed confused, asked if we had touched anything, and immediately put us into the room we had requested and paid for. I must admit it was all handled quickly and politely, and after that, we had an amazing 2-night stay.

The situation is beautiful. The building is magnificent. The interior is
well renovated and well furnished .The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a good bathroom.
Dinner was a disaster.Comfortable restaurant with pleasant staff.
However the food spoiled the visit for us.The menu was unimaginative. For want of something more interesting to start my wife chose ham croquettes.Unfortunately there was no ham in them!At least we were not charged for them.My own starter of truffled eggs was tasty although there was little evidence of truffle :the asparagus which accompanied it consisted of a few pieces of white asparagus.
My wife's main course was hake with green asparagus. The fish was grey and the grilled asparagus was so tough as to be inedible. For lack of something more interesting I chose the steak which was satisfactory although why it was garnished with 2 prunes I have no idea.
We skipped dessert I think.

No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Furniture, fittings and decor in the room were tired looking. .

A great historic hotel in a sumptuous location. The adjoining palace was outstanding and great value to visit. The hotel however was quite noisy though the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was overpriced. The reception staff were friendly
The cost of the breakfast and the poor soundproofing as we heard every noise above us.

location
it’s quite expensive compared to some other paradors with better facilities.

Breakfast was provided at a reduced rate of 16 euros each and was OK, my husbands fried breakfast was extremely greasy. I did not have a hot breakfast and the continental option was satisfactory. We did not have breakfast the second day
We had been put in the "new" extension which was disappointing as there was no sound proofing and it was right next to the main road through the village so our sleep was very disturbed due to people in the rooms either side of us and the road traffic especially from early morning

Rooms and facilities were lovely.
Service in restaurant was not good. Understaffed and ran out of water, expresso and many other items. One dinner service was really bad!
Had some clothes washed. Did not expect it to be cheap, but it was outrageous. No prices posted, so quite surprised.

The location was ideal.
The lack of any private outdoor space.

The Parador is very well located and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious. The amenities provided were of very good quality and the bathroom had a bath tub.
The decor of the Parador looks kind of cheap old, meaning that you wouldn't find any real antiques inside. Although the mattress was quite comfy, the pillows were very though. There was a lot of noise in the street and the windows didn't keep any of the sound away. The room key is quite heavy and not so easy to bring with you.

Front desk staff were wonderfully accommodating, friendly and informative. The architecture is lovely.
This Parador is sold as a luxury property. However, one feels the influence of government regulation, with quite a few rules and regulations,
particularly in the restaurant. Not a spot for special requests, but the staff did the best they could.

We have used this Hotel on a number of occasions & find that if we book direct we get a better room.
Booking . com seem to get the rooms over the cafe with no view, we asked to be moved & we were given another with a view.

Oliete. Is a brilliant location for a parador

Great location - in the actual royal palace and in the centre of this old picturesque town. We were welcomed with a free glass of wine and the reception people were very helpful with parking the car and keeping our freezer block in their freezer overnight.
The room was too hot (in February) and difficult to change the setting. The Staff, except perhaps in the restaurant, were very helpful. We had dinner in the evening and the service was so slow - it was 30 minutes before the waiter came to take our order - no drink or amuse bouche till then. The meal itself was disappointing - rice and fresh vegetables was a greasy mess. After nearly 2 hours we left without being offered a dessert or coffee.
