Fabulous, fantastic friendly & helpful staff!

I’m disabled and a few long walks to room. Stayed three times this year!

Bathroom was not particularly clean, there was mould around the bath sealant and hair around the bottom of the toilet. The walls were very thin. We had a room with an adjoining door to the next room and could hear the whole conversation of the occupants who were staying next door. Have had a better nights sleep in a travel lodge at a third of the cost!

Disappointed with housekeeping. Requested housekeeping but was not done. Spoke with staff the following morning and was promised it would be done! It wasn’t! Saw a different staff member who promised it would be done and true to his word he did a fabulous job

Rooms were comfortable swimming pool was a pleasant temperature. Room keys didn’t work for swimming pool so had to get help from staff

We found the dinner menu in the restaurant very limited. The quality of food was poor especially desert. Breakfast was good plenty of choice and hot

Don't expect to stay at the house in the picture, as its just a conference centre!

The staff were lovely - particularly the reception staff :) The facilities were great and we loved the pool

This property, although ates back to the 1600, is very nice and modernization is very well done resulting in a nice cozy atmosphere. (You might need a map to get around the hotel until you get used to all the nooks and crannies!)

The meal service was good however you had to book and reserve a table for lunch and dinner even when staying at the property. Apparently, the dining space is a little limited so you could find youself having to eat either very early or perhaps very late if you forget to reserve.

The staff, especially the reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were helped with our luggage as my husband 's mobility was very limited. The hotel was very clean and attractive décor. The 'Manor' part was really lovely but unfortunately the bar was not open in that part of the hotel but certainly a much more elegant area to enjoy pre dinner drinks and cocktails. Really good sausages at breakfast! Bed extremely comfortable!

Very long corridors to rooms. This made it difficult for my husband. The main restaurant had quite a restricted menu for anyone staying more than a couple of days.

I booked the upgrade room as I wanted the walk in shower as it’s advertised. when I brought this up with the hotel they said not all the rooms have it so why advertise it then? no room service as they did not have the staff for evening meal or breakfast and the swimming pool is only open till 8 pm. I definitely don’t feel the service of this hotel warrants the cost

The Setting is beautiful especially the drive in and the reception area.

Trying to run a hotel without staff does not work. No housekeeping due to "Covid" - What a joke! Drove round UK including York, Liverpool and Wales and never came across such lame excuse for saving money. Breakfast totally unattended. Food ran out in certain areas and no one to speak to. Met receptionist on the way in who looked like she had just been to a funeral. She gave me a welcome letter" as she described it. I was later to find out that it was a letter to advise that there is no housekeeping service due to permanent staff shortages due to Covid.... Total disgrace! Shame on you.

lovely setting great spa, big room and wonderful food in the restaurant in the evening. breakfast was decent too. Staff really nice and overall we had a great time and would go again.

bed could have been comfier but was ok. there was a noisy group of men who were walking the corridors arguing with anyone who tried to ask them to be quieter. staff dealt with them as best they could but they were in room next door watching tv and shouting all night. thankfully walls were fairly thick.

staff friendly and helpful. sis pool area very good. restaurant ok lamb kofta fabulous but burger and chips for £17 a rip off. Burger King make their burger meals better value.

advertised as a stately home but in reality a new build behind that is more like a travel lodge. small rooms, designed for profit snd not comfort for the price. very disappointing

Horwood House is an exceptional place to visit, their refurbishment from a few years back was extremely well done. You can tell each and everyone of the staff are proud to work there. Their customer service is very high level.

The staff were somewhat friendly but a lot of the restaurant staff were slow with service and had little to no communication skills.

Black cockroach crawling through the corridor down to our room and the walls were so thin I could hear another guest going to the toilet!!! Do not waste your money in the spa the treatments are basic at best and we were waiting 20-minutes for the spa receptionist to turn up on New Year’s Eve! Food in the restaurant made my partner unwell and it has taken 9 days for my complaint to be acknowledged by management. Do not stay here!

The property and facilities were superb. They completely met our expectation.

We stayed for 2 nights over New Year. When we booked they were advertising a New Years Eve event, but this was later cancelled due to low demand and a large wedding. Dissapointed, we accepted this. However, once at the property it was clear that the wedding was taking priority. The staff kept using it as an exuse for poor service. Sorry guys, I was paying to stay there too. The wedding was your problem, not mine. You need to staff up for the guests and events you have at the hotel. Nothing was arranged for New Years Eve until we pointed this out to the senior staff, when a TV and some champagne was produced for the few guests not at the wedding Other staffing shortcommings included, when we checked in we were not asked to leave a card for extras, so we were unable to charge anything to our room that evening. We had to resolve things at reception the next morning. And on NYE, ahen we finnished our meal and asked for the bill, the waitress brought the bill and a card machine, and after we had signed the bill, asked if we were paying by card. Overall, this is not a cheap hotel. I don't begrudge that as I knew the prices when I booked. But for the money we were paying I expect better staff and service. There is a significant gap which needs to be closed for the hotel to live up to it's billing.

Excellent room, beautiful hotel and look forward to going again.

The food was excellent but we wanted room service and this was very tricky to obtain: we booked in for room service (evening meal/breakfast) but the confusion between staff whether or not this was actually happening or allowed was a bit off putting, we were told that breakfast in our room had been noted in the diary (in person at Harry's bar) and then i followed up with a call but no breakfast arrived in the morning so another call neeed. Also a week before our stay a member of staff called regarding a Christmas present being left in the room for our child and upon arrival into the room there was no present, we checked at reception but they had no idea what we were on about.

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, facilities were great, as was breakfast. We had a treatment in the spa which was brilliant. The pool was also very well kept and sauna and steam room were great. Not a bad word to say!

Ahmed was exceptional, amazing service all evening at the restraint and following morning. Anya was also very good and with great survive ! lovely grounds and cozy atmosphere also the catering was very good at dealing with allergies!
