A cosy, clean, friendly and classy hotel in a great location.

Great location, we walked straight into the Forest right opposite. Easy to park and nice reception, bar & waiting staff. Quirky room layouts but this made it feel cosy. Had a lovely breakfast in our room and grateful to be permitted to check out a little later.

Our room was uncomfortably hot and nothing could be done to improve that. I felt the restaurant menu was a little limited.

Wonderful stay in a unique place

I liked the welcome both from the friendly staff and the way the room was set up. I also liked the bar with great bartender and excellent quality drinks.

Bring enough cash if you need it for a taxi or any other occasion because it is a long way to town for a cash point as the hotel doesn’t offer a cash back service.

Excellent. Wide choice and really good quality.

Not a 'dislike' really, but electronic charging points in the bedroom for phones, tablets etc would be useful.

Lovely country stay

Lovely Inn in the heart of New Forest. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and both dinner and breakfast were great.

Very enjoyable stay in a fabulous New Forest location.

Fabulous rural location right in the new Forest good parking with electric vehicle charging. Beautiful old building which is immaculate. Staff are all helpfull the restaurant meals are very good. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are spacious and modern yet tastefully still in keeping with the age if the property. Prices are very reasonable given the location and quality of the hotel.

We had a fabulous stay and will return. Very peaceful location, ideal for a short break.

Disappointed overall I would only give a mark of 4 out of 10

Breakfast seat outside location of the room

Our room was not cleaned one day same towel’s for 4 Days towel rail not working, no Ala carte menu in the evening same menu as in the bar, no table cloths on the tables in main restaurant as some of the tables were quite poor looking, staff in Restaurant not very efficient,and i don’t agree with putting a service on my bill for every little thing, if I wish to tip the staff I wil.No happy about my bill taken from my account before I left.

Lovely location

Location, friendliness and professionalism of staff.

Room was over the dining room and bar, on last night it was quite noisy until 12.30, made it difficult to sleep.

Much Needed Rest and Relaxation

Outstanding food, peace and quiet, good parking, staff are very friendly, location

Room wasn't made up one day, too many dogs, seem to be everywhere on the ground floor although they weren't noisy. No light menu offered in the bar after 5.30pm, although chef did provide a lighter meal one night on request.

Away for work

I had booked accomodation for being away with work. I was in room 8 on the ground floor. Comfortable bed, great shower room/toliet. Good reception from staff on arrival.

Room however was small (not a lot of floor space) and gap between end of bed and wall (which you had to walk between to get to toilet) was narrow. Having to ask the same staff member twice for a receipt.

Lovely, friendly hotel

The hotel has lots of character and is very quirky. The staff are exceptional 👌

Maybe be able to have the tapas menu throughout the evening for the bar. Nice to have the option rather than a full dinner menu.

Stay at this beautiful hotel for a lovely environment and courteous staff but definitely eat out!

the entire environment was lovely and the staff so polite and charming. four of us stayed in two lovely dog friendly rooms on the ground floor.

the cost of food and drink. we had a bottle of sparkling water on the sun terrace and were charged £16 for the pleasure. Ice must be a rare commodity. We had dinner at the Inn and it was really lovely but at a price tag of £280 for food and drink it should be. I’m disappointed that such a lovely stay was tainted on check out with such a large bill. I expect to pay for good food and drink but feel this was extreme. we have had better value at the Ivy. sadly it will put me off recommending a stay.

Walking weekend in the New forest

Wonderful service all the staff are polite efficient and helpful. The room was nice and the bed extremely comfortable. The food in both the bar and restaurant was excellent. Very tasty dinner and breakfast. We would highly recommend.

It would be nice to have more comfortable seating in the hotel bar area. Somewhere to relax
