Super nice home stay. The host is very helpful with everything. Lovely house. I loved the view and could spot monkeys in the morning.

I really enjoyed my stay in 1 person room. Although it was only for one night and I booked it only 2-3 hours before my arrival, the hosts made a really warm welcome for me, e.g. offered me an umbrella as it was pouring, offered me some tea and had long and interesting conversations with me. The room itself was clean, quite spacious, there was hot water in the shower, balcony was with a great view. Also, there was a possibility to use shared kitchen. Would have stayed longer there if I wouldn't had the need to proceed my trip through Sri Lanka. The hosts also offered me a nice breakfast at early morning. Very cosy place and really heart warming hosts, they truly enjoy hosting people from other countries.

Everything was wonderful. Balcony with mountain view. Large bedroom with a desk, fan, AC. Beautiful bathroom with spacious shower cubicle. Hot shower. Wi-Fi actually worked (first place we’ve been that has decent Wi-Fi!). Quiet for a large city as elevated and back from the road. Fantastic kitchen and really cold full height fridge (no freezer). Everything completely immaculate. Lovely hosts. Could not have asked for more

Great stay with great people. Nice place with beautiful view. Our hosts took care of everything we needed. They recommended a great guide, we could cook together and they made us feel welcome. The room was clean, we had access to a small kitchen. Alex Home Stay was a great choice, I really recommend it.

The family owning the homestay is very helpful, convenient and kind. We have been traveling for over a month in the whole country and this stay is simply amazing. Beautiful view, very calm surroundings, walking distance from the city center, very clean, comfortable bed, and a little kitchen available with filtered water!

The room was gorgeous with a balcony view of the Knuckles Mountain Range, and Alex and Malka are both exceptional hosts. They were very helpful in providing tips about where to go in Kandy. Despite power outages hitting the country, the stay was quite comfortable. All of the amenities offered were available and working (including A.C. and wifi), and it was relieving to stay there. It was very convenient to where I needed to go.
I have nothing negative to provide here. One minor frustration was that GPS may not work properly here and if you have problems speaking Sinhala, both Alex and Malka provide excellent directions for taxis/tuk-tuks to get up to their address. Not a huge problem, as you're relatively close to the main road as well, and you're up on the hill where you can't hear the main road either.

Very hospitable hosts and lovely house, amazing breakfast and great support with organizing a tour to Sigiriya as well as airport transfer. Would definitely stay again :-)

Location was at its best with mountain view, if anyone planning for stay in Kandy highly recommended, you can cook your own food, they do have a separate kitchen for traveler's... Nik vlogs..
Nothing just that climb but it was worth.. with some good view when you. Wake up in morning..

Very clean, comfy bed, hotel like room comfort, nice balcony, quiet location on a hill side outside of crowded Kandy city center.
The hosts are very helpfull and adjustable, Alex can help you to organize and plan tours and the delicious home made Sri Lankan breakfast beats all.

Malka and Alex are the most helpful and caring hosts we have ever met.
We as a family of two adults and a kid really enjoyed our 5-night stay at their wonderful house. It is clean, with comfy beds and a kitchen with a fridge, microwave oven, a stove and plenty of pots.
The house is located a bit outside of the busy and noisy city center in a quiet place and it was perfect for us. It was easy and fast to get there by a bus or tuk tuk, but we still could enjoy calm mornings and evenings on our balcony overlooking the garden. The house is up the hill, so it takes some effort to get there, but we do not mind walking, or you can hire a tuk tuk for 50 rs. to get you up there, so it's not a problem, just better views:)
Malka is a great cook, the dinner she cooked for us was superb, and I appreciate that she took her time to cook the non-spicy dish for the kid too.
We were welcomed as dear guests and were very happy to start our Sri Lankan journey with such amazing family and at their lovely place.

This is the kind of place where you really feel like being at home! The owners family is so kind, nice and friendly that it makes you connect with them immediately :) The landlady has prepared us a great breakfast and spent with us a lot of time. We had a great chat, which helped us to really learn something about Lankans. The room is really big with a balcony. I definitely recommend this place to others.
