The property was in the grounds of a very scenic, quiet location of four properties. The grounds and gardens were all very well maintained.

Everything was taken care of as soon as I booked the housing.
The house was very clean and well appointed. The property was very big and there were a lot of things to explore.
And the host was/is the most kind person I've ever met. He took care of EVERYTHING. I even got a cake for my birthday.
Thank you for this special birthday trip.
There is nothing negative to say. Everything was awesome!

Our stay at Tapada De Sao Domingos was amazing! We were a group of 20 so had rented three villas for three nights, and it was perfect. The views, amenities, location from Porto and most importantly - the phenomenal host! Sebastiao was super responsive before and during our stay - helping us with groceries, taxis, the local areas and any other questions we had. I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking to explore Porto and the surrounding Duoro Valley, it was a fantastic base and we all hope to come back again soon!
The only issue we had was the Wifi not working. Sebastiao came back a few times to help fix it but it didn't seem to hold up.

The location was perfect. We wanted to stay outside of town and the villa was beautiful with a great view. Spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and a host that was so welcoming and helpful. We went in March so the pool was chilly but we used it anyways! In spite of arriving hours earlier than planned, Sebastião handled it in stride and took us a on a tour of the local area and got us our welcome basket of fruit and other local food items. He answered our many questions that cropped up during the week. We had an issue with the smoke detector the first evening that Sebastião fixed promptly (he’s just up the hill!) And we made freshly squeezed orange juice from the trees on the property everyday!
A couple of extra rolls of toilet paper! (Haha) Not sure if it’s possible or even practical - but since we were there between cold and hot weather, it would have been nice to have had screens in windows/doors so we could open them up to let fresh air in without fear of something flying/walking in.

Pictures don't do this property justice. Property is beautiful and modern. Very close to city of Porto but just far enough away to offer a peaceful river front location. Host is very helpful and went out of his way to show us were the grocery store was and even booked us dinner reservations at a local restaurant so we could celebrate my husband's birthday when we arrived. He arranged for a cab into the city and back for us and had lots of suggestions of what to check out in the area. Would highly recommend and will be back ourselves.
Absolutely nothing was amiss

The location is close to Porto and other tourist locations but quiet, serene and has lovely views. You can take a local bus to Porto from the property gates or the host will organise a taxi if you don’t want to drive or park in Porto itself. The pool is natural water and in a lovely setting. Each house has a different viewpoint and benefits from the sun at different times of the day so your host could advise the most appropriate property. The water was refreshing but perfect for swimming in late September. There are local amenities including a bakery, restaurant and supermarket within a short drive. The bakery has croissants, and a cafe with crepes and pizza options. We also found an excellent bakery in Lever on the opposite side of the dam next to the cemetery. The supermarket has an excellent fish and meat counter. The river road is pretty to drive and has accessible swimming beaches on both sides of the Douro as another swimming alternative. The host is exuberant and on hand, checking in regularly as needed and providing local knowledge and sightseeing advice. The washing machine was useful although drying clothes may be more difficult out of season. Washing the towels mid week was helpful. Swim towels were provided. There was one insect plug-in charger; on reflection I would bring additional ones. The beds were very comfortable. We were grateful for the hospitality basket including bread, milk, fruit and homemade jam. It would be helpful to include butter.
It was difficult to turn into the property; the automatic gates are slow to open and the entrance narrow. The local traffic is light and confidence increases over the stay. Once checked in you have your own key fob. We self catered most nights. It would be helpful to have an oven glove, apron and a few ,sharper knives. It was difficult to BBQ without implements but the local sardines are worth persisting with it! All the manuals are available for the appliances but we struggled to access the TV. It is very difficult to buy fresh milk, UHT options seem the local preference.

Wonderful big, modern, clean house in a spectacular setting with views over the Douro river. Ideal for excursions to Porto, Guimaraes, Braga, the Douro Valley etc. Lovely pool and terrace, good parking facilities (you need a car). Thank you to the wonderful host for showing us around and providing tips to sightseeing, shopping etc. I highly recommend this house!
We loved it all 😀👍

Sebastiao was a wonderful host and we had a lovely welcome pack provided. He took the time to show us where the supermarket, bakery and restaurants were and also gave advice on things to do and where to go. We were able to collect oranges from the trees around and had lovely fresh orange juice every day. Nothing was too much trouble and Sebastiao regularly checked in to see if there was anything we needed. He was an amazing host!
Nothing.

Very comfortable, well-equipped house with a beautiful pool and a wonderful view. The grounds of the entire property beautiful. Orange trees from which we squeezed juice every day for breakfast. We are very grateful to our host Sebastiao, who on the first day showed us the area, the restaurants, the bakery, all with beautiful fado music by Ana Moura. He also made a wonderful surprise by bringing a delicious cake on my birthday! A wonderful stay
everything was perfect

Beautiful property in great location. The owner Sebastiao is wonderful. As well as giving great advice about the area he was very kind and helpful when one of our group experienced a health emergency. I would strongly recommend this property to any travelers.

I can confirm the other reviews! Sebastiao does indeed drive you around to show you the best bakery (it is very good), nice restaurants, the supermarket etc. He's also full of tips about what to see and do. The terrace and the swimming pool are very nice. The kitchen is functional and well stocked. Beds were also very comfortable. We were there in February, and the fireplace was a nice way to stay warm. The houses are on a large estate where you can walk around and even pluck fruit, which we did. The view across the river is also great.

Beautiful view. Quiet location. Very helpful host. The pool. Picking fruit from the trees.
Kitchen could have had a few more things such as foil/basic cooking ingredients. Tricky to drive in/out of as the gates open from the main road.

We were pleased to be met by the property owner despite our very late evening arrival. We were given a guided tour of the accommodation and external facilities of the property.

Sebastiao is really a superhost. He gave us a roundtrip to show where a supermarket was located, where we could buy the best pastel de nata and he explained other useful things about the area. Breakfast was provided for our first two days. The house was very good equiped and the swimming pool containing natural water was superb. We enjoyed our stay very much and we aprreciated the hospitality.

Sebastiao and his family are so welcoming to their family farm. There isn’t a better surrounding for privacy, relaxation, sun and swimming with easy access to Porto and the Valley. We didn’t want to leave. One of our favourite spots in the world.
