You cant really tell from the photos how beautiful and tranquil this hotel really is. The place and the staff are soooo lovely. We stopped here for one night after a long flight from Europe on route west to safari. It is perfect. Just wish we had booked for longer. If you are after destressing this is the place. I cannot recommed it enough.

The location was magnificent, hides in the woods just out of Arusha, and way from trafic and busy areas. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful all times.
The food was delicious and freshly prepared.
A very wonderful stay!

A stunning and unique property in beautiful grounds. ideal for stopover on your way or back from safari. Very close to Arusha domestic airport. Beautiful swimming pool. Amazing breakfast. Very friendly and attentive staff. Atmospheric, cozy, lovely decorations giving you a local feeling. Living room with fire place.
The house is creaky - so any kind of movement noise carries, but which is normal for the type of house. It is quite a drive from Arusha so not ideal for nights out in town - but perfect for us who wanted to enjoy some relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle.

amazing pool, food was lovely and overall i had a really comfortable stay!
overall i have no complaints other than when paying for my bill. there was no change for dollars so i got change in shilling which i didnt want, and then they didnt have enough change in shilling anyways so i got less than what i should have. maybe if its possible to accommodate all payments in the future it will be better.

The house and the surroundings are absolutely stunning with so much attention to detail, it was wonderful to just to be at the house and the garden to enjoy the views. Ulf and Sandra are the most welcoming guests and the staff are just lovely! The food was so delicious, too. I had the best time and I cannot wait to come back one day hopefully.
Thank you Sandra, Ulf and Lucy!

Exceptionally nice location. Nice architecture in more or less African Style. Interesting interior design & interesting books! Excellent food. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Meru house is probably the best place to stay in Arusha and I can recommend this place to everyone who is trying to stay 1 or many nights in Arusha. Either for the start of your safari or even more days. Thank you Sandra for everything :) I hope you be able to stay at your property next year when we will be in Tanzania again.

Fantastic location, friendly stuff, delicious food and amazing vibe of old house. It was the best place to finalise the Tanzanian trip. Not easy to find because the hotel is located behind the Aga Khan University. I'd like to return to this place one more time.

lovely oasis in the middle of nowhere. Just what was needed after long flights.
the food was plentiful but okay. I think they would attract better class clients with a less basic menu. Two nights and my chicken was poor but second night my fish was good.

large garden, nice decoration.
1. location: very isolated, bad road access when raining.
2. pool out of order
3. rodents
4. for the room rate there are no fans or A/C in the room

- nice quiet place with very friendly staff
- the food is simply amazing
- I had the single room next to the kitchen, it was a bit noisy. But the price was also a lot cheaper than for the standard rooms.
Value for money still ok.

Nothing to dislike here
One of the nicest places we have stayed at, the house was stylish and had a soul. The owner was also very pleasant to chat with and taking a walk with her dogs 🤎.

Amazing house, well decorated and luminous. Big garden with a swimming pool. It's worth it to take the bikes for a ride in the campaign around the house. The food was really good. The house is outside the city, not far from Arusha airport. It is perfect to relax.
Nothing to say.
