Beautiful spot and a lovely cool respite from Suva City. Loved listening to the birds at dawn and dusk.
I was given wifi codes or any explanation of where things were when I got there. The morning reception were lovely and informative though :-)

Loved that it was driving distance to the city without all the hustle and bustle of city life.
Also, I’ve always had to book more than 2 rooms in other places to accommodate my family but the Bure that we eventually booked here had enough room for my entire brood of 8. That was quite a treat.

Self contained kitchen, spacious ground floors all around. It was surrounded with lush green Forrest, so quiet, hearing native birds chirping.
Checking in at reception was a nightmare, didn’t know what she was doing. Check in was at 2pm, but have to wait for room service to clean up. We check in after 5pm.
The shower head and water pressure was so little, can’t barely have a decent shower. I hope these too areas get fixed. Swimming pools was not cleaned daily. The price per night was not up to standard. So I think it was a rip off and over priced.

Food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff very helpful, sitting outside looking over the water is nice.
Studio rooms were private and clean and despite proximity to the road, reasonably quiet.
Had a lovely walk in the nearby Col-i-Suva rainforest. Very beautiful and only a short walking distance to the entrance from the lodge.
Didn't have some food and drink items on the menu. I felt very sorry for the dogs trailing us or sitting directly outside the door of our studio - but it wasn't pleasant to have them there.
Decor is looking in need of an update and cold showers were not appreciated in the weather we had.

Ideal location for us, close to the ticket office and entrance to the Forest Park and easy to get in and out of Suva by local bus. Also easy to get to and from the airport. There is a pool which (we did not use) and a restaurant and bar with friendly staff and a range of dishes to suit most people. All staff are very friendly and helpful, including organising a very early morning taxi to get to the Levuka ferry. The restaurant and bar look over a waterhole fringed with tall trees so you can see various birds that are otherwise quite hard to see in the forest park. A word of warning - there have been robberies and muggings in the forest park. Take advantage of the offer of a security guard/guide to stay safe. They have caught and dealt with recent thieves so now thieves know to stay away as it is no longer easy pickings. Good place to come back to after a big day out in the forest park since it is so close, or Suva.
First night had some drunks staying who came in between midnight and early morning yelling and then throwing up. This could happen anywhere so it is not something worth complaining about. The rest of the nights were quiet. The beds were a bit soft for us but may suit others. The TV didn’t work, but we were tired after big days so it did not matter.

Beautiful location on the edge of the Colo-I-Suva forest park which we accessed by walking down the road and then followed trials to the waterfall for a swim (about 45 min walk form lodge). The views across the water and through the forest from the room's balcony were delightful with lots of great plants, birds, and insects in the surrounding forest. The lodge is about a 10- 15-minute taxi ride from downtown Suva (F$10 - 15) depending on time of day - avoid "peak-hour" b/w 7.30 - 8.30 am. The restaurant was great and staff super helpful.
While we loved staying here unfortunately my wife was "attacked" by mosquitoes in the room on our second night leaving both her arms covered in bites and very uncomfortable for quite a few days afterwards. In spite of burning coils and having the overhead fan on all night, mosquito nets for the beds would have been great and prevented her discomfort!

location and what we would have thought the price
this place was extremely dirty and smelt musty and the bathroom like urine
there was no pillow cover on a pillow and 2 towels for 4 guests
went to checkout and the receptionist was asleep on her keyboard
and there are stray dogs everywhere they were harmless but the smell of wet dog and them hanging around is no ideal

The location was good. Cheap.
You get what you pay for I guess, the room was dirty and smelt. 2 towels given for 4 people no toilet paper. After going down and asking they delivered more. The place felt dirty stains on sheets and towels. Mould and musty Type smell. This place if looked after properly would be good stay at.

Wifi was really good working, location to the forest close
I checked out after two hours. Room was supersticky, ran down (broken facilities, stained and dirty sheets), restaurant was closed, other people in lodge were extremely loud, electricity was out so no fan working, fire alarm went off in the building and noone bothered (stuff at reception was sitting around and no other people around at the lodge but there was also no fire emergency but was still an uncomfortable situation). I stayed in similar lodges and hostels around the country, thus, did not expect luxury but the lack of interest of the employees/managers/owners here was shocking and sad to experience. I hope that they will find a way to turn it around and make it a nice place to stay again where people can experience the friendlyness and open way of Fijans towards their guests cause the location with the forest and ponds would be lovely.

everything so damp and no protection from noisy people next door. no hot water.

The location and the staff
I was there on a weekend and the place was noisy until 4am with guests slamming doors, talking loud, and laughing without any concern for guests trying to sleep.

colo-i-suva is a really special place - rainforest, birds, lush and green - a truly glorious tropical loveland!
some loud guests - but that's not on the place! It didn't dent our happy anyway!

Nice hostel in amazing place. Beautiful forest around with nice ponds. We didn't have a chance to try the pool but looked great. Great hot shower with amazing pressure. Nice breakfast in restaurant with great pond view.
There was one and only bad thing and it was the mattress. It was really old and we could feel every single spring in it.

The only thing I like about the property was the surrounding rainforest, that gave beautiful scenery and different kinds of bird calls.
That the restroom and bathroom was separate from the room, old curtains not covering the whole room, so at night, when drawing the curtains, it wouldn’t cover the glass doors fully so if the person next door walks in front of my room, he/she can see through my room.

it was different and the purpose was good in principal
it was in the forest so everything got damp and clammy there was a function on that made it that we couldn’t enjoy the facility properly
the food prices were a bit too high and there were a few dogs running around outside your door
we enjoyed the stay but it was not our style but good luck to the owners
