The facilities were pretty clean.
We felt really uncomfortable staying here. 2 items that i am really angry about. First of all, i have booked 2 rooms. When we were ready to turn the night in. They came and confront us and urged that we have booked 3 beds and not 2 rooms. They said that we are "dishonest" for touching the single bed and they would need to charge extra for that. It seems that we paid for 2 rooms but how i stay in these room is not up to us and they want to manipulate us on this. It could be a miscommunication between us but if they had better attitudes, we could have talk it out. But they have to start with calling us dishonest.
Secondly, everywhere i go, I have been watched around like a hawk. Right after we used the kitchen, we saw someone went in and inspect the place (it was obviously clean that they did not come and confront us on this). But we really felt uncomfortable on this.
We booked this place as we saw reviews on friendly host and clean place. However, it seems that they are only friendly to some people and they are really not so friendly to us, to asians. 😔

It was a lovely well kept motor park. We enjoyed a drink and meal at the hotel which was in walking distance

I could definitely see that this place would be a great summer place to stay and kids would love it to!
So I am 8 months pregnant and came down to waimatie to enjoy the mamma Mia preformance. I choose to stay here as it was cheaper and looked like a great place to stay. I got back late to my cabin and my partner dropped me off and we can in the way we thought where supposed to as no signs to say otherwise. Also I can in and out the same way earlier that day too! A very bright light shone down our way and the wife of the place said what r u doing here?!! I replied with he’s dropping me off as I’m pregnant and couldn’t drive home. He then received a phone call so he did that u too leaving the camping grounds. Yes I get his car has a bigger exshast….. but he left the exact same way he came in and then the lady came out and I heard yelling. I went to see what was wrong and she said is this ur partner? And I’m like what’s up? She said that he went in the wrong way first off, which can I say there where no signs!!!! That said plz don’t go the same way that you came in?! Then accusing my partner of drink driving and driving to loud which both of those things are not true! Then I left too as I felt unsafe with the way they spoke to me and feeling vulnerable being pregnant too! As I was leaving the lady asked me where I was going. Which was none of her business and also I had paid for the room too. So there shouldn’t be a need to be like this towards guests. I took the key with me by mistake in the process and returned it the next day. The lady’s husband then wanted to speak to me as I received a txt message saying he wanted to. So I brought someone with me as there was no need for that eather. Once I gave the key to him, he then yelled at me and said I will find him and then mouthed a few other colourful things to me as I went back into my car!!! He shook me up and unfortunately I won’t be staying here again.

Very handy location in a stunning setting. Such nice and friendly management and staff - Michelle is absolutely lovely. The camp is very clean, very comfortable (well heated cabin in the winter!) and everything inside the cabin looked pretty much brand new. Bonus: lack of light pollution, I've seen the best night sky ever!
It was great, nothing I didn't like.

The facilities were very nice.
Would have preferred a queen bed, the double bed just fit the two of us. Would like a toilet block to be a bit closer.

When we arrived the manager wasn't in the office/easily contacted but she arrived soon after so it wasn't a problem.

Very nice stay, great place to break the journey.
I hope people realise that if you are double vaccinated and even if you have had a booster, you can still catch and pass on the virus to other people who are also double vaccinated, but are immune compromised. Stay safe. Nice to stay.
I hope people realise that if you are double vaccinated and not wearing a mask ,you can still catch carry and pass on the virus to other people if you are in close contact. Especially unnerving if you’re immune compromised.

We had a roof over our heads. This was a camping ground so no breakfast provided.
Having to go out in the rain to get water or go to the bathroom
