Beautiful pool and view! The breakfast buffet was lovely and we were treated to a special gift on arrival.

The staff at this property were very cold and the service was disappointing - felt like they were understaffed and the personnel working were under too much pressure. The carpets in the rooms and passages were dirty and overall the hotel did not feel like a 5 star experience. The hotel is extremely expensive comparatively to many other beautiful hotels in the area and I did not feel like we got value - we were hoping for a luxury experience and did not leave having felt this.

Looking for a great place to relax and recharge your batteries? Look no further. Fabulous location overlooking the River Douro with an infinity pool on the seventh floor to maximise the view. Secure parking in the basement garage, friendly and efficient reception; excellent food (we had breakfast, lunch and dinner) at reasonable prices. Room was good size, very clean and with a balcony providing further great river views.

the amenities were poor indoor pool felt not clean the circulation within the hotel was impossible..

architecture of outside of building is offensive bulky ugly, check in through garage terrible, pool not heated enough, no service at the pool, pool bar closes at 7pm before sunset, no pool towel pick guests have to do it, shower caps required for indoor pool, service was very poor, not near enough staff anywhere in hotel.

the service was painfully slow. they were clearly understaffed. the staff on shifts couldn’t keep up with the guests. simple food and drink orders took up to 1.5 hours.

The interior and terraces weren’t that inviting. Lack of a nice atmosphere…

Quite simply this hotel has probably the best views from a bedroom compared with any hotel that we have previously stayed in, It was just magnificent. The infinity pool was fantastic combined with that view from the pool area. The room was clean and comfortable but not special.

The restaurant was not up to the standards of a five star hotel. Food choice for dinner was limited and it was not international cuisine which you might expext from a five star hotel. Breakfast was a bit chaotic and the restuarant appeared under staffed. items were not replenished quick enough and the range of the buffet was just average. The main bar was very reasonably priced but was not up the standard of a five star hotel. The staff were a mix of good and not so good. A tip forthe bar staff: if you are going to comment negatively about someone's nationality it would be better to do it well away from the guests or not at all. The hotel is desparetely trying to be chic, sophisticated and up market but it doesn't really succeed. The decor is white, all white, The interior furnishings where they have been placed look like job lot art. The pool area and other public areas need to have more money spent on horticulture. In general the hotel looks spartan. This hotel could be so much better. It is not five star as others have also stated.

I liked the view from the room and from the pool

I did not like that the pool bar closed rather early (7pm) and the pool as well (8pm). The main selling point of the hotel is the pool and the view; however, it was difficult to enjoy after a day of excursions due to the early closing hours.
