NOT A CONDO! This 2000-square-foot, stand-alone house is the perfect get away for your entire family. No shared walls, railings, entryways, elevators or parking lots so you can arrive with confidence and know that you will not be sharing your rental with other strangers. This 3 bedroom/2 bath home is a welcome retreat from your busy mainland lifestyle, with its vaulted ceilings, tropical island-style furnishings, fully-equipped kitchen, large laundry room, recessed lighting and skylights throughout, front courtyard, and backyard LANAI complete with lounge chairs, gas grill, hibiscus, and swaying palm trees. Sliding glass doors from the guest bedrooms and dining room open onto the front courtyard, while the living room and master bedroom invite you to step out into the peaceful backyard and sheltered lanai. Step down into the warm, relaxing, sunken tub in the master bedroom suite. There are extra linens and beach towels. Located on a cul-de-sac in Poipu Kai Resort next to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort, Shipwreck Beach is just a short, 3 MINUTE WALK to the east via greenbelt pathways. Brenneke Beach and Poipu Beach Park with its wonderful children's swimming area and playground are a 5-10 minute walk to the west, also via greenbelt pathways. Enjoy the outdoor gas BBQ grill and patio dining. If you choose to stay in touch with your office, you will find a dedicated, high-speed, Internet access line as well as wifi. There are tropical breezes and ceiling fans throughout to keep you cool. The master bedroom has a KING, there is a QUEEN in the second bedroom, and 2 TWINS in the third bedroom. Overall the house was great. Some stuff needs to be updated or fixed. A screen door was broken. The beach umbrella was broken, needs a new cooler.

All previous reviews are accurate. The house is as pictured. It’s charming and is true to the Hawaiian style. If you need air conditioning, you may want to reconsider this home; the house becomes extremely hot in the afternoon and early evening. After a few days, however, we didn’t miss having air conditioning! Overall, I suggest this home as it is located in lovely neighborhood close to two beaches.

The house was very beautiful and in a nice neighborhood. The house was clean as well. I would definitely book this place again if I come back to Kauai.

Nice place to stay! Well equipped with kitchen supplies, beach towels, boogie boards, plenty of T. Paper and paper towels! Was a little warm in the late evening but cooled off nicely from about 11PM on! Close to a couple of beaches but seemed like a little longer walk than as stated. Our family of 8 fit very comfortable here with 2 younger boys sleeping on the pullout sofa. House needs a few updates but is very adequate. We enjoyed our stay here!

This was a convenient and clean rental home. The location is very good. The amenities are good. Some beach equipment is available for use. The only downside was a lack of good air flow which made it hard to cool off the house, and one of the TV or TV remotes was not working. Everything else was great.

We stayed in this home the month of March 2023 and found it to have plenty of room for our family. It is equipped very well with kitchen items and beach things. The home is older, but it suited our needs perfectly and the location is ideal.

The location is unbeatable. Easy walk to both poipu beach and shipwreck beach which are two of the best beaches in the area. The house was well stocked with supplies including soaps, trash bags, shampoo/conditioner etc. There was great airflow in the house with the lower shutters that opened.
The house was definitely dated but that was apparent in the photos. The appliances were touchy to get working correctly and the towels could use updating but otherwise we had a great time and would stay at this house again.

I definitely recommend this vacation house!
Very spacious, comfortable and clean vacation rental house for my family of 3 adults. It was the perfect "home away from home" for us during our 2 weeks on Kauai! The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed. The living room, dining room, outside patio areas were wonderful. Bedrooms and beds were quite comfortable. Ceiling and floor fans in each room of the house.
Home was conveniently located to everything in Poipu and Koloa area.

We were a family of 4, one of whom used a wheelchair, a set of grandparents and a sister, husband and 10 year old. The house was well located and has great kitchen and bar b q for meal prep. The location is very walkable and close to great beaches as well as a great jumping off spot for visits to other parts of the island.

Great location near multiple beaches. We did some excellent scuba diving and snorkeling just down the road at Koloa Landing, and this made for an excellent base camp. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning, but we did alright without it.

Great location for our young family. Walking distance to pool, beaches and the Grand Hyatt where we were attending a conference. Quiet neighborhood with little traffic. The Owner was very accommodating and helpful to us with our stay and some specific needs that came up.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for space to spread out with a young family while visiting the island.

Forever wonderful memories
Our family loved the location because we could walk to Poipu Beach or Shipwreck, to nearby restaurants, the pool, or go for a walk/run on the trail system. The open community space was used for soccer and kickball. This property met all our needs. Excellent host, very accommodating and helpful. We all highly recommend the property.

Great location.
The location was great. The kitchen had every utensil you could need to cook fantastic meals. The house is spacious but needs a deep clean.. I was worried that the dresser in the main bedroom had mold. One shade inches hallway was molded. Kitchen cabinet is broken. IF you want to watch a movie the T.v.is on the smaller side,but adequate. I texted the manager about a broken lamp and received no reply. The island is fantastic.

Family Friendly home in beautiful Poipu
Ideal home for a family vacation. Plenty of space, fully loaded kitchen, short walk to the pool and beach. Water toys, wagons, boogie boards and more for kids (and adults) of all ages. Great place to spend the week in paradise!

Our house had very large rooms with lots of space for our 7 people. No air conditioning in August made it hard to sleep at night, fans helped a bit. Washer, dryer and dishwasher were nice to have. Pool was a five-minute walk, beaches further. Overall good experience.

The house was spacious and accommodating . Master bedroom was perfect! The location was perfect, too: walk to the pool and beaches. Felt like it was the place to be on Kauai as the north got all the rain and we just had a few sporadic showers and great breezes every day. Only downside was pressure washers next door during construction.

Large washer and dryer with plenty of detergent, dishwasher, loads of beach towels, two wagons to pull the children to the beach or pool, many boogie boards and some beach toys, lots of fans to help us stay cool, awesome grill on the patio for meals that didn’t mess up the kitchen or heat up the house.
Great communication and lots of accommodation from our wonderful hosts - for example we thought about bringing an Au pair and she was supportive of helping us find a spot in the house.
Finally, the location just can’t be beat. We walked to the beach park and pool every day, enjoying the beautiful greenway and fragrant trees and shrubs, and walked the other day one evening to have a fancy meal at Tidepools (where the staff were very kind to our kids and even provided fish food to feed the koi).
Would 100% book again and have already recommended this house to a colleague.

We rented this property for my husband, myself and our 4 young adult kids. There was plenty of room for us. The house came with all amenities. It is NOT air-conditioned. We knew about that in advance, but if you need AC you may want to look elsewhere. We did have the occasional bug, ants, geckos in the house. It's a tropical setting, so I wasn't surprised or upset by that. Grand Hyatt is a short walk and we enjoyed going there in the evenings for a cocktail. The house has a little more wear than the pictures reflect. But still a good location and good value for the trip.
