The two baths, one moderate temperature and one ultra hot temperature, are great for relaxing after extensive walking. The breakfast is superb, unbeatable, there is a Japanese grandma type lady who cooks delicious small dishes, very healthy and fulfilling breakfast. The free night soba and free ice cream are a nice touch especially for families, who just want to stay in after a long day.
I didn't believe other reviewers who said the hotel was unclean, even with photo evidence, because my impression for Japan is that the nation prides itself for high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Then I experienced same as those reviewers, there were dust and hair everywhere in my room, the corners and along the bed edges were horrifying. After attempting to wipe up the dust and hair in vain, I complained and the reception staff brought a 3M roller tape thing which didn't do anything at all, and I had to ask for a vacuum, but I gave up because it also didn't do much, I wish I could clean up with my Dyson from home. I asked for a change of room because the first room was beyond saving.
The second room had pee stain still on the toilet seat and I pointed out to the staff, he was just going to use water and toilet paper to clean, and I asked him to use sanitizing solution. The staff were really nice, but the experience was so disappointing.
Anyway, i found out later that they don't seem to have dedicated professional cleaning staff to clean the rooms, we saw a young lady who was cleaning and separating towels into different laundry bags, but the speed, familiarity with the work, lack of organization gave me the impression that she was not trained as a professional cleaner.
Also, upon check in, both the front reception staff were obviously sick with symptoms of coughing and sneezing and they didn't weak a mask. I thought it was acceptable and expected for people in Japan to wear a mask when sick to avoid infecting others.

The location is good, being very near to the Nipponbashi station, although there is no elevator access from the nearest exit. It is also within walking distance to Namba station via an underground shopping street with shops and restaurants. The room is spacious and bed was comfy. The public bath, although relatively small, is still a great addition; you just have to choose your timing to avoid the crowd. The public bath is open from 3pm to 10am. They also provide free ramen for supper at the restaurant. As the hotel is laid with tatami mats, you will have to take off your shoes at the lobby and store them in the shoe lockers provided or you may also put them in plastic bags provided if you would prefer to bring your shoes to your room. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and the hotel location is great to explore Osaka.

The onsen is a major plus. Also, the traditional Japanese tatami interior space.
Wish the room has some access to natural light

Excellent traditional Japanese rooms with futon. Onsen style baths were excellent. A new experience bathing with others. Men and women baths were segregated. Lots of free food…breakfast was really good. A full Japanese breakfast experience. Would definitely recommend.
Located close to shops, convenience stores and the subway.
It could get really busy and loud sometimes in the dining area.

Family members wanted a traditional Japanese hotel with private bathrooms. The hotel was walking distance to shopping and the train station. The staff was patient, explaining to us Americans the proper behavior - such as removing shoes before entering the hotel.

The location was great and there were free noodles and ice lolly’s which we didn’t avail of but it was a good perk
the rooms were quite small and the beds not comfortable. The onsen was quite busy when we checked so we didn’t avail of that

The hotel provides good services. I didn't go to the onsen coz it was a bit crowded when I came, but my colleague went at different hour and said it was good. I love that the location is really convenient, right in the shopping street, close to a lot of good restaurants.
