Great location

The location and idea of the resort is amazing - great beach, layout of resort was unique, and gorgeous sunsets overlooking Phi Phi Islands. Staff was friendly, and air conditioning in the room was a nice escape! Food was great.
Our accomodations were a perfect location and set up (we had family beach suite) and the rooms themselves were great, but neither toilet worked. Upon asking several times to fix the toilets (obviously clogged somewhere), the employees did try to fix a couple of times but still the toilet would not flush and they left our bathroom flooded with water (toilet water? Not sure). We had to use the public bathroom our entire stay. We were told we would be provided a refund in 2 weeks for our trouble but never received any - it has been over 4 weeks.
You can tell the resort used to be lovely at one point and the staff is working to get it up and running again - it is a bit run down (i.e. doors to rooms were finniky and/or broken, refrigerator in bar didn't work so warm beer, broken floor boards), lights along steep paths did not work, water turns off at night, and young staff trying to figure out how to run a resort.
My family is easy-going so we made the best of everything (probably would have been different with more demanding occupants) -just definitely not worth the steep price we paid for 2 nights stay. Had the price been a lot less, my review would have been different as it would match the accommodations better - the idea and location of resort was great.

Staff were lovely friendly and helpful. Secluded and felt private, only 2 other small accommodation uses the beach. Restaurant was nicely located over the beach and by a beautiful huge Banyan tree.
If you like wildlife and a natural environment this could be for you.
Lots of little crabs to watch running around, friendly dogs that don't bother you, they're busy doing their own thing. Butterflies, squirrels etc.
The access road in/out was quite a worry, it felt unsafe and very close to the edge at times. Not a great entrance. There are a lot of steps as it's on a hill and while staff carry baggage if you have mobility issues this could be an issue.
Wildlife- clearly we are in their home, and they will let you know this. We had honeymoon suite and felt we couldn't sit out after one troop of monkeys went through and a couple lingered.
The room was ok but for the price could have been better.
For us this was to be a little treat at the end of a 9 week tour and early wedding anniversary but unfortunately was disappointing.

Very picturesque, lovely to have all the cabins / bungalows in gardened areas.
Depending on where your bungalow is, quite steep & May b difficult if u had any mobility issues.

So glad we found Ocean Beach Resort, we ended up staying for 10 days in the amazing "Boathouse" right on the beach.
We had a perfect sea view from the bed and the deck and listened to the sound of the waves. The bungalow was furnished with traditional Thai furniture and carvings, with a very comfortable large bed.
It's truly "off the beaten track" and reminded me of Thailand 20 years ago but with better facilities.
The beach is beautiful and has stunning sunsets, it's great for swimming apart from at low tide when the reef gets exposed and you need to be careful of the coral with your feet. The sea is very calm, shallow and warm, perfect for children.
The beach is very undeveloped and the resort is nessled amongst the trees, under Koh Pu mountain so there is lots of wildlife, we saw: docile monkeys, friendly dogs and a nice cat, flying fish, manta rays, sea eagles, dragon flies, butterflies, sand bubbler crabs and hermit crabs.
The restaurant was superb with a good range of authentic traditional Thai food as well as some western dishes. We ate so well that we didn't even consider going elsewhere even though we're normally very adventurous.
Mr Khao and his team were very friendly, helpful and attentive and did everything they could to make our stay wonderful and relaxing.
We went on a guided hike up Koh Pu mountain with Mr Ann, and also borrowed a sea kayak to explore other beaches along the coast.
I'd recommend to stay here to any couple or young family that wants to stay right on the beach and just relax in nature with wonderful hosts and delicious food.

beautiful secluded location. very peaceful. the food was very good & breakfast was better than expected.
the staff were great. the manager was extremely helpful to the guests & really tried hard to help with things even unrelated to his resort.
the food was considerably more expensive than restaurants either side (but was better).
the transfer costs were extortionate as well.
you can get from resort to airport for 780THB not the 3500thb they try to charge you

We have had the most wonderful 4nights at Koh Jum Ocean Beach Resort and are so glad we stayed here. It’s simply beautiful and feel some of the reviews have been unfairly harsh.
Khao the manager and his lovely staff couldn’t do more to make our stay perfect. They even produced a hand made flower bouquet for us when they realised it was our wedding anniversary 🥰
Transfers were all arranged perfectly and ran like clockwork, issues with room resolved quickly & mosquito nets provided when we found one had nibbled us in the night, staff were super friendly and helpful, even working out how my husband could watch a uk football match! 🤣
The food didn’t seem overpriced for us and was typical of other places we’d stayed in Thailand. It was all absolutely delicious! the burgers were massive! kids were very happy, daily fruit smoothies a huge hit!
The beach is stunning, it is a bit rocky when tide is out but those rocks harbour fish so we enjoyed snorkelling without having to go far which was enough for the kids (12&9). Watching hermit crabs was fabulous. Kayaking was great fun. the landslide on the road has been cleared but very dark to go anywhere at night, koh jum is extremely quiet and even the next beach on, which is busier didn’t have a lot more. The two restaurants to the right of the resort were also really good (pizza at onlee amazing!)
We booked a family villa expecting to be beach front from the photos on booking.com… however photos are a mix of villas available and only one is actually on the beach. Ours was the next bungalow up and we could still see the sea, we weren’t worried but something to point out.
Some items do need updating ie the sun loungers on the beach and pool are nearly breaking.
Breakfast was a bit limited… a few more options would have made it better.

It was very relaxing and the food was really nice. Staff were friendly and the beach is stunning. The transfer back to Krabi by longboat straight off the beach was excellent.
We weren't aware of the landslide that had occurred just before our arrival which made the road to the resort pretty dangerous. It also made exploring the island out of the question, but actually it's a long way back to any village either way. I recommend anyone staying be aware that once you're at the resort you can't really leave, but in terms of forced relaxation it's great!

Beautiful beach, good pool, excellent food, friendly staff
Expensive food and drinks compared to other places in Thailand. Very many steps to the bungalows at the top.

location
room was nice
staff where friendly
food good (breakfast as ever not good)
lack of training of staff so things to ages to arrive
lack of drink selection - maybe it’s hard to provision

The most amazing views ever. Room 27 and 28 were our rooms and the best views directly on the beach. The kids loved the free kayaks and paddle boards available to use.
Our room wasn't ready on arrival and the staff were not overly interested in the delay. We stayed two nights and our room wasn't cleaned during our stay. The locks for the rooms didn't work which we felt was a security risk. The breakfast was less than basic and lunch we had was one of our worst Thai meals in Thailand. We arrived by moped but the road to the hotel is not safe for novice drivers.

The Manager Kaao and his team of staff were amazing. The place is stunning, and you get a real sense of escapism there, and some of the best sunsets. The food was delicious too!

Nice rooms with good air-con. Very beautiful ressort with nice pool and best beach and ocean access in the area. Very friendly staff.
The Ressort is very poorly managed, though a lot of potential of the place is left unused. Many people work there, however, still everything takes very long and needs to be asked for. Room cleaning and refill of included water only happened when we asked for it multiple times. Food in the restaurant is good but quite pricey. Basic breakfast. Something was always unavailable, like the yoghurt for musli, however you could order it and then they would tell you it's out of order 10 mins later. Organisation of transport was really chaotic.

Everything was exceptional. Restaurant was above exceptional and the waiter staff was just outstanding!. Mrs Mo just can not be commended on enough… she is a winner!! Her tireless work to have made our stay “the best” that we have had, so far, on our 45 day trip through Thailand. The owners of the Koh Jum Ocean Beach Resort really need to appreciate what they have in her talents and the individual attention she gives to all the Resort guest. Mrs Mo deserves an increase in pay, and at the earliest possible date. You do not want to lose her to another Resort !!
The only possible fault I would even comment on is maybe just a few more lights illuminating the walk ways and paths leading to the bungalows. For when walking up the hill steps at night.

The breakfast was by far the best free breakfast we have ever seen. It was amazing! Because of COVID restrictions in America and Europe, we were the only guests all week. The staff treated us like royalty. The beach is beautiful and clean. The monkeys were pesky but otherwise the week could not have been better.
