The room was very large and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and had excellent water pressure as well. The hotels safari they organized for us was also excellent and yielded great results. The staff were so accommodating and kind. They also served the best food we had in Sri Lanka. And on top of it the WiFi was super fast. This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka.

Indika is a very charming host and also a great chef. We had dinner twice and enjoyed both times. The room is as shown in online photos with a big comfortable bed. When the restaurant/reception area is completed it will only enhance the experience. Indika organised our Yala Safari, the bus to Colombo and even drove us to the bus stand in his tuk tuk. We wish he and his family all the best for his dream boutique hotel.

Staying Ariya Tissa was very much to our liking. This is definitely recommended! The owner is super hospitable, takes care of everything for you. He prepares fresh food for you, in addition he can cook very well! He makes the best meals we ate in sri lanka. The accommodation looks well cared for, with a luxurious bathroom! The owner also arranged a Safari for us which was well taken care of, including breakfast and lunch. Should you go to Tissamahara, I will definitely recommend this!

The owner did awesome job warmly meeting us, he also woke up very early so we had our breakfast packed by 4:30 am The breakfast itself was just perfect Also the hotel staff organized our transportation to Galle - at a very reasonable price, the driver was professional and the van was very comfortable

Hosts are incredibly friendly and very welcoming. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We had a delicious dinner there and they were kind enough to pack our breakfast for an early start. Room was very clean and spacious.

A little noisy due to the wildlife in the area and the street is dark at night with quite a few wild dogs around.

What a stylish place! It is a wonderful room with a wonderful bathroom in the centre of Tissa. It is very clean and spacious. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is incredible.

Excellent experience and family atmosphere. The hosting family is so nice and helpful and even their little son was really entertaining, although we only stayed for two nights to do the full day safari. Besides the safari trip we spend all our time at the accommodation and really enjoyed it. Food was prepared for us on time on request - e.g. the curry with rice, so delicious and a lot. Our host also drove us to the bus station and arranged it so that we could just hop on. We highly recommend Ariya Tissa!

If you plan to visit Tissamaharama, we REALLY recommend you stay at Ariya Tissa. My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights here and we must say this is probably the best place we’ve been in. Our room was huge, beautifully furnished and decorated (the king-size bed was super comfortable and the A/C helped us sleep super well during the night). The same goes for the bathroom, it was the biggest and the most well-equipped one we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. But this isn’t the only aspect we loved about Ariya. Since the moment we came, the owners made us feel at home. They prepared for us the most delicious breakfast and, on the morning of our Safari at Yala, they prepared it at 4.30 am without any problems. They have been super helpful and available and provided us with everything we needed. They also gave us bikes to go around and explore the city and that was the highlight of the day. The bike riding was magical, among rice fields up until the lake (the street wasn’t the main one so no traffic at all!). Best time to go it’s the golden hour so you can enjoy a fresh beer on the lake shore while many kinds of birds are flying over your head! Last but not least, we had the most delicious home made dinner at Ariya. Chicken and veggies curry, soooo good. Don’t miss it out! Thank you Indika and the family! Hope to see you again soon!

We had the best stay here! the room was beautiful felt like real luxury, everything was super clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing super hot with good pressure. The host and his family were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed he even packed us our breakfast with sandwiches, fruit and water at 4:30am for our safari. We had dinner there both nights and was honestly the best food we ate in Sri Lanka you really don’t need to leave your accommodation. It is a MUST stay :)

Easily the best hotel during our trip. Everything was just perfect! The host was incredibly nice and helpful, the room was newly made and tasteful, internet was great, we were able to book a safari in advance for great prices, we got a welcome fresh coconut drink, the host brought us bikes free of charge, got us to the correct bus stop when we were leaving (we thought we'd go to the main one but all the buses left so we needed the other one) and CURD! That was the best food I ate in Sri Lanka - the host gave us a cool terracotta jar of fresh buffalo curd with honey and it was heavenly! Also when I asked to provide safari food without onion\garlic they did it and the food was great!

I wish I stayed one more night and tried breakfast at the hotel - all the safari food was super great and I can guess that actual hotel breakfast would be even better :D One thing is not really about the hotel but might be useful for people who are looking at this - the safari driver we had had assumed we're mostly interested in the leopards despite us repeatedly telling that we'd be good to observe other animals as well. So we kept riding along the same road there and back 10 times after deers screamed the alarm call - we could see that the deers are fine and calm already but just kept driving back and forth and stare in the bushes and shadows while we just drove past other animals in very scenic spots on full speed - so when you get your driver just talk them through what you want and don't want.

I can strongly recommend this Hotel in Tissamaharama. They offer great hospitality and professional Safari Tours. The rooms are very modern, even luxurious and clean. The hosts are extraordinarily friendly and do their best to help with everything and fulfill all wishes! Also the food is amazing since the host was working as a professional cook for Sri Lankan dishes in Australia.

We stayed at Ariya Tissa for one night to do a Safari. Indika (the owner) and his family were absolutely lovely and they made our stay incredible! The place itself is in the middle of the rice fields and a short walk from the town. The rooms are new and very lovely to every detail. Indika organised a great safari for us with a very well experienced driver. We did enjoy dinner and lunch at Ariya Tissa which was incredible delicious! Best food we had after one week in Sri Lanka! They also sell homemade spices if you are interested and offer bikes so you can explore the town and the lakes near by for a colourful sunset. We loved our stay at Ariya Tissa for every minute and highly recommend this place.

Everything is incredible, the hotel is super new, very close to the town but at the same time secluded and very quiet. Spacious room, bathroom with screen and rain shower (a real pleasure) very comfortable bed and extra clean, super good and abundant breakfast and the attention of the owners has been unbeatable. They found us a tour of the Yala park at a great price and with a wonderful guide. We saw all kinds of animals including a leopard for over 10 minutes. Excellent option to stay in Tissamaharama

Great accomodation with a nice, modern bathroom and a big bed. Hosts were really helpful and nice. We could take bikes into town and to the lakes even though they're not that far away. We had dinner here(chicken curry) which was very tasty. They also arranged a safari for us with a great guide(Nissanka) as well, along with a nice packed breakfast.

I booked the room for one night in order to do a half-day safari early in the morning. The facility was exceptional: large room, air condition, good wifi, big shower, etc. On top, the hist is very accommodating and open to help you with every question you have. 10/10 would recommend

I was impatient to discover this hotel given the comments I had read here. And I was not disappointed. the room is spacious, clean and comfortable. the hotel is tastefully decorated (I can't wait to see the hotel when the work is finished). the host is certainly the most interesting person we met during our trip. its history is fascinating, its cuisine is fantastic (we ate the best rice and curry of the trip there) and he is of a rare kindness. we will certainly return to this hotel which was our absolute favorite

Wow. This place was awesome. Clean and quiet. And the breakfast was the best I had in the whole Sri Lanka. They even made me extra milk rice as I so much like that.

A bit hard to find. But consequently it is quiet.

Indika always strives to fill your every need. He is also an excellent cook, previously a cook for the Sri Lankan ambassador to Australia. Even those staying at other hotels should see if they could have a meal.

I wish the room had door and windows had screens, then I wouldn't have to use air-conditioning.

I chose this property based on the reviews of others, and I cannot explain just how much it still exceeded my expectations! By far the most incredible hospitality we’ve experienced not just in Sri Lanka, but across the world. Indika could not possibly do more to help; from negotiating best prices for our safari and taxi, to driving us out for dinner, picking us up, packing our safari brekky for a 5am start, cooking us a delicious lunch…the list is endless. Beautiful property with the best shower we had in Sri Lanka, tastefully decorated, universal powerpoints, oil burner, mini bar, selection of teas - a very special experience indeed.

can’t express enough the OUTSTANDING hospitality of Indica and his staff. He made us a national desert which they have at celebrations. Himself and the other staff member stayed with us and we spoke about a range of subjects and life in the evening. in the morning we had an amazing breakfast where nothing was too much trouble and we’re happy to offer us anything we wanted. the room was spotless, the shower pressure is the best I’ve had in years, even better than mine at home. The hotel is about an 8minute walk into Tissa. after our stay we needed a taxi to get to our next destination and Indica arranged this for us for such a good price. the best hospitality we have ever received and we recommend this place to stay 100%. take Indica up on any food or drink he offers as it’s SO good! thank you so much Indica and team we wish you all the best.

The owner is just most helpful person we met on our trip, everything he does is just 110%! Lovely breakfast and safari arrange. They are working on the property so it will be just better in the future :) Very nice stylish room with great bathroom!

Food is a bit pricey but what we heard and taste it is worth it!

The staffs are very friendly, and the meals were super good. The owner Indika is an amazing chef, make sure you have dinner there! He also prepared the breakfast for us very early to bring for the Safari. Big room and nice interior.
