About this house rental
Tropical Island living on a deep water canal, just a few homes in from the open ocean. This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home offers great dockage and all the extras you`ll need to enjoy your vacation in the keys. The Master Suite offers a separate entrance for some extra privacy from the main house. This pet-friendly home also features a grill and fish cleaning table with ample parking available. Location, location, location… The direct access to the water is ideal for fishing, and trips to the sandbar, and even great for evening boat rides to several local restaurants to choose from where you can dock and dine! There are also great restaurants all over the island. Of course, being the Florida Keys, most of them are famous for their seafood and some for their waterfront and sunset views. Marathon is centrally located in the heart of the Florida Keys, it is an ideal location for a Florida Keys vacation. This Central location makes it easy to explore the other Islands in the Keys. Take a day trip to Key West, mini-golf at Boondocks Grille and Draft House on the way back to Marathon, and end the day watching the Sunset at Sunset Grille right by the iconic 7-mile bridge. There is just so much to do and sea in the Florida Keys, once you arrive at Catherine's Tropical Paradise it will be difficult to ever leave! Please note that if you plan to travel with a boat, we can only guarantee that one boat will be able to fit at the dock. Please be sure you are familiar with the dock size and do not assume more than one watercraft can be secured at the property during your stay. Also, although this home is considered “Pet Friendly” you are required to select this option when booking your reservation if you choose to have a pet occupying the home. You will be required to pay a one-time $150 pet fee that is non-refundable. Absolutely perfect location! Just minutes to the ocean! Boaters and Fishermans paradise!
Way too hot in July to use the hot tub though. A pool would have been icing on the cake!

Great location and house. Very clean and stocked. Only issue we had was one of the bedrooms had a mini split a/c unit and was not able to keep that room cool enough for us.

The property was exactly as described. Beautiful house with great views and great access to the Atlantic Ocean. Also great location on the island being right in the middle of everything. Would most certainly stay here again!

The open floor plan is the greatest. Grandpa and grandma stayed in the bedroom on one side of the house and the kids were on the other. It worked out perfect! The canal was very deep for our boat and very close to great fishing. We will be back!

This property was just as listed and more. The location was great. The neighbors were great. There were plenty of dishes, pots & pans, knives, etc for cooking our catch and sufficient towels for everyone. We had great communication from the manager when there was a water break main. We'd love to come back.

Great location. Lots of room for a party of 8. Kids enjoyed the canal. Water boards were appreciated. Hot tub was well used. Would be nice to have some cheap fishing equipment for the kids. The house has just about everything needed for a one week stay. A corkscrew and pens with note paper would have been nice. The 3rd bedroom situation is different and should be explained better.

We stay for 7 nights, weather didn’t help on the first three day but after was wonderful, easy access from the canal to open water, manatees came and visit two day great experience, fishing on the canal no that good. House very comfortable and peaceful will recommend new pillows and out door light , communication with the manager was great . Overall hight recommend for a nice getaway vacation and definitely will stay again when we return to Marathon key

My hat's off to the property owner and the property mgmt co for replacing an old mattress as soon as we brought it to their attention. The owner went a huge step further and sent us a charcuterie board the next day that the mgmt co arranged and delivered on our schedule. Who does that anymore?! THANK YOU TO ALL!! The house is beautiful, location is perfect, and we even had great weather. Thanks again for such great care taken.

The house was beautiful! It fad everything we needed and more. We even had a manatee come visit us in the backyard which was amazing to watch. Highly recommend!

This property had a nice outdoor space that offered a view of the ocean. If you are a boater, this is a great location with easy access to the Atlantic. We really enjoyed the hot tub as well. This is a lovely, spacious home, and our only complaint was the level of cleanliness upon our arrival. We found dirty utensils in the drawers along with crumbs and hairs, the master bedding had hairs on it, the cracks between the couch cushions were filled with crumbs and debris, the towels felt crusty, and we noticed several high-touch surfaces were brown with grime such as the thermostat. We purchased cleaning supplies and washed the linens and towels our first night as well as disinfected all of the common surfaces. When paying an expensive $300 cleaning fee (for a one week stay), I expect the place to be clean, especially during COVID when the listing advertises the additional measures the property is taking for the safety of all guests. I was not pleased with the amount of cleaning I had to do, and contacted the property manager who I will say was very responsive and accessible. She offered to send the cleaning crew back over the following day, but we had activities scheduled and did not want to cancel them to hang around while the cleaning crew was onsite. Lastly, the overhead light in the master and one of the other bedrooms were burned out and the remote was also dead so we had to take batteries from another remote in the house. Overall, we had a nice week here, and with a little more attention to detail, this property could be perfect.

We enjoyed our stay. We missed not having a dining table. Another drawback was that if someone was in the second bathroom you either had to wait or go outside to get to the laundry, 2nd fridge or other bedroom.

This home is old but recently remodeled. Comfortable but it's broken up strange with the garage being finished to a bedroom, you have to access the 3rd bedroom, washer dryer and 2nd refrigerator through the 2nd bathroom.

The interior of the house is great, but the outside area could use some help. I am still rating the property 5 star but I feel like there could be a few improvements to make it better. We stayed over Christmas and our past rentals have offered a Christmas tree so that would’ve been a nice addition for paying the holiday rates. The outdoor seating was pretty limited and didn’t really go with the house as it was a set of mis matched pieces. Would’ve been nice to have more of sitting area with a fire pit type piece. There was also a mishap with the grill we will be letting the property manager know directly. All in all the location was great as there was a vacant lot at the end of the road that gave us access to walk the dog and walk to the ocean, but we did hear the lot was sold so that will be unfortunate to lose that access. Also great that it was pet friendly but if we hadn’t had the vacant lot we would have been very limited where we could walk the dog so maybe a bit of green space somehow. But again, overall it was very nicely decorated with a light and airy beach feel and was very clean.

Perfect getaway
We've stayed at Catherine's Tropical Paradise years before and enjoyed the updates to the property. AC is strong and welcomed after a day on the boat or at the beach. the twin fridges were perfect for the lobsters/fish fillets. Property management was in constant contact with our needs. This is a great place to get away!

Very Impressed
This was our first VRBO so we were apprehensive to start. When we drove up we weren't sure. We had to lift the cable lines to park the boat in the driveway until we could get it to the lift. However, all fears were quickly erased when we opened the door. The unit is so cute and perfectly comfortable. Everything was clean and neat. There was more than enough utensils for cooking. We only had 1 issue and I text out property manager and he had it fixed the same day. Overall we were super happy and impressed and loved staying there. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Beautiful home, well equipped, great location. One issue with the home during our stay and it was resolved within two hours. Great response by property managers. Would stay here again!
