We loved the location. It didn't feel like we were only a couple of minutes from town.

The layout of the cabin was perfect, everything I needed was there and it was a nice surprise to find bread, butter, milk, jam, coffee and tea so I didn’t have to worry about getting breakfast the next day. Setting was lovely.
It was difficult to locate, the turn to the property was right on the edge of the bridge - blink and you’ve missed it. Also to get to the cabins themselves, it was a very steep, one way driveway.

Great location, close to everything, but surrounded by beautiful bushland. Cabins are spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Great undercover BBQ area which we didn't use but admired. Fantastic, would like to stay longer next time.

Stephen the host was extremely helpful & the hens were amusing welcome staff. Plenty of towels and blankets for personal comfort.
A heater/heat lamps in the bathroom would have been appreciated. The driveway down to the chalets was quite steep & intimidating especially when returning at night. The noise from the highway was constant.

We stayed at Sunny Gum for ten days and we couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Steven was a great host, very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was neat, clean and perfect for our needs. Sunny Gum is a lovely retreat amongst beautiful, natural surrounds, which we will be sure to stay at next time we're in Tasmania.

A beautiful spot for a getaway. The cabin was clean & comfortable, with everything well maintained. Lovely setting with rural views, a creek & wildlife. Only a short drive to the beach at Penguin and a good base for exploring the area.
The only negative was the road noise from the highway nearby.

Self-catering. Was ~2km from shops, beach etc. Very quiet with only a bit of traffic noise from the highway. Quiet grounds with BBQ amenities, the Penguin creek running at the back of the property & access & a seat for some quiet contemplation.
A container of salt & pepper would have been handy for the kitchen. A complete range of body wash, shampoo, conditioner & moisturizer - there were some items there, but the supply needed checking before we arrived.

The shower base fills up with water quickly, so I had to remove the grate to get the water to flow down the drain.

Loved everything about this cottage. Clean and roomy, quiet and in a great location. Steve was friendly and helpful with places we could visit around Penguin.
