Not for me

If you come here to only do yoga I think this is the place for you to be. They offer tons of great yoga classes throughout the day, taking place in very serene, zen accommodations throughout the resort. If yoga isn’t you main reason to come here, read my dislikes about this place….

I actually don’t know where to start. First of all I have to be clear about my reason to visit Udara; it was a spontaneous booking, I didn’t book this for yoga- classes but just for some peace of mind, but this was already weird, according to booking.com my 2-day stay would be €200,- instead of €940,- and I would get a 35 m2 room. I got a very very small room, and it felt like this aquarium in a zoo. My front huge windows were overlooking the inside pool-area, which meant that with my curtains open I would feel like this animal being watched; nonstop people walked by and could see me The outside of my room was a bathroom, no sitting- area, and outside there was this loud noise from construction work. Nonstop during the day. The wifi connection was terrible. In the evening I decided to go for a swim. And this freaked the hell out of me! The whole swimming area, with its so called ‘relaxing caves’ etcetera, felt like a (scary!) Disney-world attraction. Kids would maybe like this, unfortunately they are not allowed. This whole resort was very dark and uncomfortable. The reason I am making effort to write this review is because I wished I had read something like this before I decided to book. For this kind of money you can have wayyyyyy better in Bali. Trust me.

Wunderschöne Reise - unglaublich gutes gesundes Essen!

Es war ein wunderbarer Urlaub in einem wirklich tollen Hotel/Spa. Noch nie in meinem Leben hab ich so ein freundliches- zuvorgekommendes Personal erlebt. Man fühlt sich richtig wohl und sehr wertgeschätzt.

Beach yoga get-away we will return to

Loved the get-away feeling here and the wonderful staff. We were sad to leave. For the gastronomes out there the food was 5 +stars all the way, everything on the menu was fresh & delectable!! Yoga classes outstanding! Just drop in, about 10-15 in each. We are medium level Yoga people and felt very comfortable with some below and above our level in each class. They provided a motorbike for us to go into Canggu. No beach peddlers to bother you here. Best massages ever

Don’t really have anything negative to say but the floors and stairs were odd in some of the spaces

This place is magical! I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This place is amazing! The whole architecture and design is beautiful and organically planned. It uses the space beautifully and I felt totally relaxed and at ease there.

Superb

Aura is perfect... I liked the view of our room, massage area, yoga area... All of them were amazing. Food and the juices were above my expectation. Staff was very helpful and they answered every question with a smile:)

The bathroom didn't have window. The walls were high but at the top it was open :) We've arranged a taxi during our visit, otherwise the transportation is a little bit hard. I didn't see a public transportation.

Budget all inclusive.

Daily massages that came with resort package were amazing. Lots of food options on the menu. The all-inclusive resort package was convenient as it includes 3 meals per day including beer, all classes (except special events), and daily massage.

Rooms are very dated. I was given the wrong type of room at arrival, but that was quickly resolved. Selection of classes weren't exactly what I was looking for (more sound baths and chanting than yoga/fitness classes). Pool area was covered and didn't have any seating. I think there are better options that aren't all-inclusive that would have been more adapted to what I was looking for in a beach holiday. The Sunday event which runs half of the day is very noisy and crowded.

Amazing property and yummy food but could be more comfy

incredible design of the pools, underwater music, and sauna. owner is kind and welcoming. great list of classes. food is tasty with tons of vegetarian options. most of the staff is helpful. great location where you can walk down the beach to Canggu.

some staff weren’t the typical Bali friendly customer service type; they were almost rude I would say and judging our questions. we got the all inclusive package and they were really strict about what was included. for example, we didn’t eat all the meals (skipped a lunch, breakfast, and dinner), but when we had dinner and asked for an extra starter (which we were willing to pay for) they said it wasn’t allowed. also, when I asked about having lunch after checking in, they were hesitant and said i could only have it if I didn’t eat lunch the day of check out.. ok. I only participated in a couple classes but they were full of influencers on their phones taking pictures and videos. if you’re one of them, the space is really well decorated. the beds are huge but as hard as the floor. we woke up sore each day. heads up, toilet paper doesn’t go in the toilet at this accommodation.

Absolutely love udara, the staff here are the most friendly of anywhere I've stayed in Bali and make you feel so welcome. The massagers are the best!!!. Love all the facilities I've had three trips here and will definitely be back again thanks udara family.🙏😁

Nice building, but it misses the soul of a yoga / spa retreat and good food.

Location at the sea, style of the building, the spa, massages and staff were nice.

It’s noisy, so bring ear plugs if you want to sleep properly. Beds are really really hard. Food quality is mediocre and we got belly pain two separate times in 5 nights staying here with full board. Personally, I often got the feeling that most people in the ecstatic dance or sound healings are here to look Instagrammable instead of enjoying a judgeless experience. EDM music is often played in the restaurant, which does not help relaxing.

A Wonderful Retreat with Everything one Could Want

This place is off the charts amazing in every possible way. We got the detox yoga spa retreat package, and we loved everything about it; the massages/scrubs were professional and deep, the food was fresh, organic, and expertly prepared, the yoga classes were abundant and there were great options for those new to yoga as well as more advanced. Sound healing is a big part of all they do here and there are great community activities that we attended as part of our package. People are great, owner is involved, a great yoga community. And the yoga shalas are overlooking the ocean, the natural architecture and sculptures are magnificent, rooms are great, and sauna, steam, cold and warm plunge baths and pool were awesome. It's a true sanctuary.

I had a wonderful 3 nights and best of Aerial yoga and other forms of yoga

I came for their Aerial yoga and the property as a whole is fit for one who come here for retreat. the all in full board meal plan is very substantial and clean

the overall design is a bit spooky with all the animals, pool is not very comfortable to navigate (due to the exotic designs)

Enlightening

A blissful experience to revitalise your soul. Fabulous place

Beautiful people, beautiful location. Udara is an amazing resort to unwind, relax and re-energise. The staff will make your stay easy and enjoyable. Dayu, lisna and Ayu served the delicious food. Adi,jumi,wisnu,Tia, mira Tuadi we’re all wonderful. Ayu gives awesome massages. Bella Cus & Diana had great yoga classes. Thank you all❤️

Tranquil 😊

This place was an oasis of tranquillity. The food was amazing, yoga classes were brilliant (even though I need to get better 🙈), if you want just to enjoy a relaxing break etc. This is the place you should visit. Staff were very friendly.

Only reason I give it 9/10 instead of 10/10, is one day the spa was so busy that they made another area a spa area and it wasn't the most suitable with construction work going on 😊. The staff couldn't be nicer and tried to make me feel comfortable.

Life changing and soul enriching.

I’m not usually one to leave reviews but I couldn’t have loved my stay more and would recommend to anyone who would listen. I came lost and left feeling happy and at peace. The team there are PHENOMENAL, I would do shout outs but there are too many to mention. The facilities are amazing, particularly loved the hot pool with underwater music. The classes are AMAZING, breathing with Gus has changed my life as with Douglas, his rehabilitation and Pilates were sensational. The food was delicious, big portions and incredibly healthy and wholesome. I came solo and left with friends as all the guests are lovely. It’s truly a hidden gem of a retreat. Do the retreat package as you get all meals, classes and a massage a day. The masseuses are LIFE CHANGING, the full body scrub was perfect before leaving, I felt like a dolphin. To top it off when I left they gave me a gift of a hand painted stone, all different to choose which summed up my stay. Needless to say I left with a heavy heart and a filled soul.

My only small complaint was that my hut was next to where they keep the cleaning facilities and thin walls so I’d hear that first thing in the morning but I got used to it and it coincided with my jet lag so not too bad!

Amazing, so much love and kindness. The perfect location for a healing trip, for body, mind and soul.

Beautiful location and yoga shalas with breathtaking ocean views. Several classes everyday, perfect to mix your favorites with new classes. The instructors a really good and always make you feel welcome to every class. Fun events every week and the Udara Sunday is a must-do! So much fun and easy to meet new people and friends. The spa is gorge and perfect if you want time to relax. Love the restaurant and the food is great. The absolute best thing about Udara is the staff, especially in the restaurant. Even though I was a solo traveler I never felt lonely. The staff always took good care of me, they’re so thoughtful and caring, like family. The staff at Udara will always have a special place in my heart. I spent two weeks here and I’m grateful for my experience at this beautiful place.

Great relaxing yoga detox

Good selection of classes included in the cost of the room. Around 8 to 10 a day including mediation, areal, hatha, yin, power or vingasa. You can do as many as you want. The spa is also great and the daily massage really great!

The beach in front of the hotel is not great, like many in bali. It is outside the main area or shopping of Canggu. You need a 10-20min ride or 30-40min to Seminyak

Heavenly stay!

I absolutely loved everything about this place. Full professional program of Yoga in a stunning Hotel with a complimentary SPA for all guests, with a daily massage included if you get a package. Food is gorgeous. Fresh, tasty, large portions with a great selection. Staff is fantastic and you will fall in love with them. Rooms are decorated in traditional Balinese style fully air con and very large open toilet. Beds are huge and super comfortable. The perfect place for solo travelers who wish to socialise or reconnect with themselves. I am dreaming of going back as soon as possible!!

It’s a bit far from Canggu Centre but you will not feel the need to go there because everything you need is there. Rooms at the ground floor have delayed hot water and they can be noisy due to construction work and street children. I was in room nr 2 and managed with ear plugs.
