La ubicacion
La habitacion un desastre. Humedad por todos lados. EL baño, si bien indvidual, fuera de la habitacion. Habia estado en ese alojamiento en 2019, y en ese momento, estuvo razonable. Ahora undesastre.

We were supposed to have a "room with a private bathroom" - yet the bathroom was outside, in a shared area and the ventilation connected directly with the reception area. Not worth the price since the other rooms had the exact same bathroom - even a more private one.

Wonderful location. Clean and wonderful people running it. Right off the Camino.
If you are a light sleeper- there are some cafes downstairs and can be loud.

The check in was late and we waited for one hour...

Brilliant location, private room in ground floor with our own access at the back of the property, good price, friendly staff.
A bit tired and dated but nothing that a good lick of paint and deep clean couldn't resolve.

The room wad beautiful.
I didn't like that my bathroom was outside my room.

The bed was comfortable. My husband likes relatively hard mattresses. Staff cleaned the bathroom nicely after many people had showed.
The light in the hall shone into the bedroom every time someone walked by. Noisy, I needed eat plugs to fall asleep. There is no place to put your clothes while you shower. I had to shower in cool water as there was no hot water left.

Amazing location, right by the Cathedral.

Andrea and the rest of the staff were wonderful. We stayed in Viana Do Castelo during our honeymoon in Portugal, and they made the extra effort to make our stay the best it could have been. Maçã De Eva is blocks away from the beautiful historic areas of the city. Gorgeous.

The location, in city centre, close to everything.
Staff were helpful.
The bed and mattress need replacing, its OK for one night stay but not longer. For 100€per night I expected a better bed and mattress. Had to sleep on the side of the mattress because I would just "sink" in the middle and was afraid of ending up with a sore back. Stayed in better places for less money... Apart from that the staff were helpful.

Good location.
we were given a room in the attic that looked nothing like the pictures on booking.com. For 90 Euros per night, we had two mattress laying on chipping pallets on the floor (and a shared bathroom on a different floor). i suspect they were overbooked so put us in a store room, given the do not enter sticker on the door. i am 5 foot eleven inches (average height), and needed to stoop to enter the doorway and could only stand upright in the center of the room — I kept banging my head on the ceiling. They did offer to help find us a room elsewhere in the city and they did refunded our money for the second day when we decided to leave Viana do Costello early rather than stay in that place. i many countries (and perhaps Portugal), I suspect that it would not have met fire code given the limited height and egress. But they also did cancel our reservation on booking for the night that we did stay, apparently in an effort to prevent us from leaving a poor rating. (Fixed by calling booking.com — but I suspect that their ratings are skewed positively through this technique.) was a terrible value for 90 Euros and not as represented on Booking.com.

it’s dirty and I found long brown hairs in my bed, some funky red stains on the wall and there’s no electrical socket in the room!

Good value and good location in city centre. Bathroom shared between 2 rooms, I think. We stayed in private double room.
It was such a rush at check in. The lady at the reception doesn’t speak a word of English. Was speaking fast in Portugese, questioned us if we want towel, vino etc. I didn’t even have time to answer, as at the same time had to fill in a form. Bear in mind we were tired after walking 27 km in a heat. Then I was rushed to tap with my card and turned out I overpaid £5 - maybe it was for the elusive towel and wine which I didn’t get anyway. 🤔
Didn’t feel welcomed.
