The family running the property are amazing people. I would really recommend staying with them, the food is fantastic and their hospitality is first class

Green Elephant gave me shelter for 80 days during the Covid-19 curfew. I always felt safe and taken care of and will remember their kindness for the rest of my life. I looked forward to the variety of delicious home cooking every day. Wifi was stable. The birds and squirrels in the green surroundings and the stars at night were entertaining. In the last week, I could explore the area more. After your safari, stay one or two more days. The cycling in the area is world class; lots of quiet back roads along canals, paddy fields, through teak and moringa forests and friendly villages. A 1000 thanks to Geetika, Chintaka and their daughters. Though the circumstances were unfortunate, I will have lasting memories of this peaceful time. Thank you!

The well run homestay, in very central location of the Udawalawe village - cca 500m from the Elephant Transit Home centre, close to the few restaurants in the city, close to the bus stop to move further. The property is located outside the main road in a quiet location, with lot of green and nice garden around. The room was nice, comfortable, clean, we were really happy to choose this place.

Noisy opening/closing of the bathroom doors - i guess neighbouring room can hear the noise during the night. Saying No to having a dinner at the property - despite ordering a safari trip from them (6000Rp/per person) resulted in bitter face gestures what made us uncomfortable. I don't want to imagine situation not ordering also the safari :-| Anyway, in the end, i have empathy for that, it's their business so they have to try.

I loved everything about this place! The family is very welcoming and will go out of their way to ensure the guests have a good stay. Location is great too, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there!
