The location is great. Tasmanian east coast is beautiful.
Booking confirmation was $138.00, was told at check in $138.00, paid via a tap pay system and told they would email invoice. Found out later that evening they had charged my card $167.00. An extra $29.00 surcharge that was not mentioned at all. I find that very similar to theft. And to top it off the main light in the room didn't work. Very frustrating.

Clean and spacious dorm with big kitchenette. Compact bathroom has a hairdryer (but no hooks for towels). Nice view out windows. Bar and restaurant onsite has a cosy fireplace and WiFi. Quiet town, close to Beaumaris beach.
Wi-Fi doesn't reach dorm room. Bathroom just needs a few hooks. Saturday night band played loudly until midnight, so no sleep until they wrapped.

I stayed in 10 bunk bedroom. The beds without pillows and blanket or linen, broken door, and terrible smells inside the room.

One of our rooms smelt like animals. Water in the shower took a while to become warm. Location was a bit isolated from the main town

There was no wifi which was bad because there is no general phone reception in that area.

Fridge was too close to the bed very noisy when trying to sleep,also unit next door paper thin w alls could hear them coughing all night , didn't have to be so close as there was plenty of other rooms vacant..

Super close to beach, great view and comfy room. Water was nice and hot once it heated up. Close to town and has food there if hungry. Heater in the room also
Had the basics (as you expect at a budget spot )- not sure why some people are shocked with what is provided when paying $89 per night fee.
Thankyou to whoever from the Surfside is replying to the bad reviews - made my day😂.
I would happily stay again
Only had one pillow each (no spares in room) and no outside lighting when we left pre sunrise. Wasn’t sure if I put the key in the correct spot as it was so dark - popped through a slot in a door which fell to ground inside reception.

the location is good.
the floor in the bathroom and hallway need to be repaired as it was uneven from some major water damage. the blinds need to be replaced and there was no coffee

Nice comfortable rooms and beds, staff were also very friendly.
Had no water during our stay, got sorted about 20 minutes before checkout so wasn’t able to shower, have a drink etc.

Dinner burgers and local gin were brilliant.
Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Sat by the fire and looked out to the Tasman Sea.

Looked untidy around where we parked the car
The restaurant looked dowdy
The dinner menu only offered burgers
There was no remote for the TV and there was no offer to assist, my 87 year old husband had get on a chair to do it manually
We brought our own food but hardly any cutlery

and there is a lot of mosquitoes and bugs coming at night and no AC so it’s too hot to close all the door

the location is perfect. staff were friendly on arrival.
easy to find (literally can’t miss it) easy parking right outside your room. room was spacious, neat and clean. it provided us with all the basics. no heating/cooling.
The room and it’s necessities were minimal. we booked for 3 nights, there was only half a roll of toilet paper in the room, had to ask for more. only 1x towel per person provided. no face washers or hand towels. no tissues in the room at all.
