Loved the village feel of the complex as well as the magnificent pool and incredible views out to the ocean.

Except for the fact that the internet worked poorly, the rest was very good: the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the appearance of the hotel complex with the villas in the form of a traditional Greek village, the breakfast.
Attention if you go with a pet: the animal is only allowed in the room. He is not allowed on the terrace of the restaurant, he is not allowed on the chaise longue at the pool. You won't have any problems at the restaurants in Skala, where your pet will be well received on any terrace.

Mariana at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. 5 star service.
Arrived in my room to find toilet water covering my bathroom floor, staff came and mopped it up.
Later the shower head would not stay in place and kept flicking up in my face and around the bathroom, trying to fix this and the whole shower head popped off, so I showered with the hose. I called reception and they said they'd fix it when I went out. Arriving home after dinner to find they had taken my air-conditioning card out of the socket, not only had they removed it, but had taken it to reception. On the phone they told me I was not permitted to have my air conditioning running while I was out, they also expected me to go collect my card. This was after my "courtesy" bus ran 24 minutes late, and they blamed me saying 'I was in the wrong spot' which I wasn't, as after the 3rd call to reception the driver pulled up exactly where I'd been standing the whole time.
What is the point of paying for air-conditioning if you can't arrive home after a 40 degree day to a cool room.
Leaking toilet, terrible shower, unreliable services, inability to use facilities you have paid for and ontop of that worrying about what else they will touch while they are in your room ruins all the nice things about this place.
Never again.

Family friendly simple and relaxing environment, excellent breakfast with fresh and Greek traditional products, very polite staff, amazing sea view. We also loved the beach close to the hotel, a hidden treasure.

Breakfast and dinner was great. Stavros was excellent in organising our trips and accommodating our requests.
Poolside lunch had minimal options.

Porto Skala is a friendly, well run family hotel. Its away from the main area of Skala so quiet. There is a shuttle bus to run the 3-4 min journey to the resort/beach of you want. Car handy to get about. The pool area is great, with the sea, over a road on one side, the mountains on the other. We have adjoining rooms with our children. Both with AC and a bathroom each. Our bathroom was newly refurbished Sea views from the balconies. The food, is delicious. Dont expect chips and burgers. This is proper greek home cooking and all the better for it. The breakfasts are either english or continental or greek and also fantastic.
Some parts of the rooms and vllage could do with a little update, i.e the sofas in the lounge and the A/C in the dining room, but its hardly worth mentioning if you consider the value and little private coves / beaches that are over the road.

Very close to the city center, very clean environment and the rooms are big with comfortable big bed . The rooms go through every day cleaning. Excellent shuttle service.

the views from the hotel are great, it is lovely to wake up overlooking the sea.
our room was great, having a room with 2 balconies was a real treat (one with table and chairs and one with sun beds)
it did lack atmosphere, we assume this was due to Covid but we didn’t really spend much time other than sleeping at the hotel. pool bar prices did seem expensive.

We recently returned after spending one week at Porto Skala and although I appreciate the world is suffering from the effects of COVID 19 I do also think establishments need to update their sites to reflect exactly what is offered during these hard times.
We decided to take the half board option - normally preferring to self cater but not knowing what would be open nearby etc we opted for HB. It was good value, I can’t argue that part. It was a buffet and for reasons of hygiene etc it was served to us, and I can’t argue with the qtys or indeed number of times one wants more helpings. The choice however was incredibly limited. Knowing it was a buffet has a personal advantage as I favour more salad options and less carbs. That part was limited. On day one there wasn’t even a salad. Except for a small bowl of cucumber, tomato and red onion. Hubby doesn’t eat all 3!! So we purchased a lettuce from the local supermarket and took that to dinner thereafter.
Buffets tends to service most people’s needs. So perhaps that needed expanding on in the write up.
The dishes were reflective of some in the photo so can’t argue there.
Due to COVID the elevated eating area was closed. This is a gov directive so we appreciate that however I also think it should have been highlighted in the write up. Instead the eating area was by the pool.
The temp facilities I’m presuming reflected that - all the food was cold! Not as in cold options but hot food gone cold!! Not even warm..... but cold! We watched the set up of the buffet start at 4:30pm and dinner was from 17:30-19:30 which in itself is incredibly early and a short window. Amended due to Covid too. That wasn’t stressed either in the write up.
First came the salads - most without covers quickly followed by the wasps waiting to dine out on our food!
Then the ‘hot’ options placed over Bain Marie’s. However the hot water wasn’t anywhere near the metal serving plates so basically did nothing in keeping the food warm.
Begging cats!! Every meal 6 cats literally sat at your feet waiting to be fed. Some diners obliged! I like cats and have one myself but cats begging and residents not being discouraged from giving food to them is frankly disgusting, unhygienic and has ramifications. One day we watched 2 of the cats jump on to the table where the cutlery was, walk over the cutlery and then master the best route to climb onto the food and feast! A worker caught them just as they were about to do the latter.
One worker fed them constantly. If they’re hotel cats include them in the write up. Then our decision to book this hotel would’ve been a lot quicker!
If they’re semi feral then a polite request not to encourage begging would be a good move!

A little dated in the rooms but still very comfortable, lots of storage space for longer stays, nice size balconies with good views (if you select that), good bathroom, good air-conditioning and curtains plus shutters to keep out the noise or light should you wish to sleep-in. Tea and coffee making facilities hiding in the cupboard plus a safe. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely pool with sunbeds and view of the sea. Car parking is across the road as is the beach, down some stairs so the accommodation isn't right on the beach itself. The beach is a little cove with smooth pebbles. Skala village is a 5 minute drive away. You can walk it easily in maybe 30 minutes as there are paths with the sea beside you for nice views. There are some restaurants closer so you don't need to walk all of the way into Skala. I wouldn't walk back as a single female but there is s taxi rank in the village so easy to get a taxi back. Skala had quite a good vibe with quite a few restaurants to choose from and also quite a few bars, partially outdoor to enjoy the weather, plus there are shops. Thought Skala had more ambience than Argostoli or Sami.
Air conditioning system a little noisy

Lovely pool, quiet location, very efficient and courteous staff
Lack of arrangements for dropping off baggage when we arrived by car. There is a car park the other side of the road, but it isn't clear who this is for until you ask.

Nice atmosphere. Great breakfast.
Rooms are a but small.
