brilliant newly refurbished art deco style rooms wonderful room features and a great restaurant and Spa

The location was excellent and our room well appointed.

The breakfast room was not very well organised and whilst breakfast was included, at the room price I would have expected to be served with coffee and not have to use a machine. The hot food on offer was also disappointing.

The location was convenient. The rooms were well designed.

I booked a twin room for my daughter 25 and my son 20. The confirmation did not mention the beds so I wrote an email to request again separate beds for my adult children. When we arrived they had put them in a double room! It took a long time to sort out and was a compromise. Our own “superior” room was tiny. The gym did not open until 8.30 am so we could not use it before breakfast. The weights were in a locked room so my son could not use them. My husband was aggressively and rudely refused entry to the spa because he was wearing swimming trunks. As a man in his sixties he is not comfortable wearing skimpy tight speedo style trunks. The bar was full of large groups of people making so much noise it was unpleasant to stay. It is too small for the number of people in the hotel, as is the reception where there were often not enough staff and long waits to check in and out, etc. This was particularly annoying as the weather was bad almost our whole stay and there was nowhere else in the hotel to go. The television did not have a single channel in English. There was no bed and breakfast rate available so breakfast for 4 nights would have cost 352 euros! We went to various cafés around the hotel to avoid the excessive charge. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but the cups kept being taken away and not replaced. Sometimes the tea and coffee were not replenished. A small thing, but all part of a very disappointing stay. St Jean de Luz is a lovely place and there are many better hotels there than this one!

The Spa was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and obliging.

The only thing that I don't understand is that everyone needs to wear a bathing cap and Speedo swimshorts. This is not modern and some people with hairs all over the body are allowed to swim there anywhere.

The spa is heavenly, I could stay there all day! I noticed that there was a door directly to the beach from the large indoor heated pool area. It was raining during my stay, but next time I will definitely go for a cold dip in the ocean!

I wish the spa/gym areas were open earlier and later, like 7am-11pm. Why not?

Very good location and hotel was very nicely renovated.

The restaurant was too pricey for what you got, and the service level varied a lot, from great to poor.

Location is right on the beach, nice beach towels are available (limited numbers but ok). Interior of the room is modern and fresh. Breakfast has big verity of choice with perfect view. SPA facilities are great.

Staff on the reception mostly does not speak English, it makes difficult to solve the issues:( But they really try to help… so somehow you can find a solution. There were no free of charge water in the room, only welcome 2 bottles in the first day, which is strange taking into account price per night. Towels were washed and changed regularly but with stains:(

Very comfortable and well maintained acoomodation. Perfect location right on the beach. Staff offered and provided help with parking and luggage.

Children age limit of 12 yo for the spa access is nonsensical and did not go down well with my kids.

best location ! great decor and the spa 🧖‍♀️ is clearly the gem of this hotel. and it’s right in front of the beach. oh and the breakfast restaurant with the terrace is amazing 🤩.

We stayed for 10 days in this hotel and it was perfect. Our room was comfortable and very well fitted out. We had a super balcony with a table and chairs and sun loungers. The bed was huge and relaxing. The Spa was fantastic, we went down most days and enjoyed the steam room and jacuzzi areas. Loved that it was sea water... And the fantastic view of the beach from all areas. The staff were friendly and helpful even though we didn't have French.

The hotel is very attractive, close to the seafront and a short stroll to the centre of the town. The room was very well decorated and there was plenty of space for us and our little dog. Staff were friendly

The spa was closed for renovation for all but the final day of our stay. It wasn't the main reason we booked so it didn't matter a great deal. I suspect it was flagged when I booked but it wasn't obvious. I did receive a message after booking about the closure. While we were there I asked at reception about booking a massage for our last day. They said I would have to telephone the spa area directly to discuss the type of massage. Unfortunately my French is not good enough for that so I didn't use the spa at all.

Everything was great, especially the staff. Breakfast was wonderful.

The location is fantastic and all facilities were of the highest quality. The staff, particularly on the front desk, were extremely helpful and could not have been nicer to us. The spa facilities are good with some stunning beach views. Parking is under the hotel with direct access by lift.

Nothing to dislike.

The view from the Spa is amazing, so are the massages and facial treatments. Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Good and affordable meals at the bistro. Perfect location next to the beach and city center.

Reservation for the massage didn't work and the Spa was closed the day I arrived which would have been nice to know before but the staff was very engaged and helpful to find a solution. No parking in front of the hotel, still the parking area was described well by the staff and isn't too far away.
