Our first visit to the royal Boston, hopefully won’t be our last, we were upgraded to a king sea view room which was really lovely, the food was good and the staff were friendly and very helpful , great entertainment too
The only thing for me was the mattress, which was hard (I suffer with a rib condition) but that doesn’t take away the great service we received

I cannot comment on the Royal Boston as we got moved to the Royal Carlton due to a maintenance issue with the rooms
I was very disappointed with the room we were given
. There was black mould on the ceiling, holes in the bathroom walls and blood on the bed sheets. The toilet rolls were wet through & black stuff coming out of the bathroom taps. I have stayed at other places in bathroom for a lot less which were a lot cleaner so I will never book to stay here again.

The staff
Worst breakfast I’ve ever had in 50 years of going to Blackpool

The staff were friendly and helpful - especially Chris at reception - he was just a superstar. Chatted to my daughter like he had known her forever.
The Tram passes (£20 refundable deposit if you are all inclusive) is fantastic especially given the hotel is 1 hours walk from the pleasure beach!
My daughter and i had a twin room, with my bed being against the wall with the radiator half way down the bed so every time i turned over, my knees/legs were bouncing off the radiator - ended up having to put a cushion against radiator to protect my legs!!! The bed was very uncomfortable but that could be down to the preference as i found the bed very hard. The kettle - haunted lol!!! Kept switching itself on.
The music, was great and the singer sounded amazing - but i didn't really want to hear her in my room... on the second floor!!! I understand that sound does carry and i booked a hotel with entertainment, but I could hear her word for word until the music stopped at 11.30pm. Add into that the sound of other residents loud TVs that could be heard through the very thin walls- it does not make for a comfortable, relaxing evening!!
Overall, for what i paid for my night at the hotel, it was ok.

I’m afraid we didn’t like much
It obviously had been refurbished as the hotel is obviously quite old en-suite so tiny I’m only small myself but found it a struggle toilet was on a raised step which I think you were an older person you would struggle. The room was at the front and no double glazing traffic noise most of the night. They had entertainment on which went on until midnight with the doors open at the front which was another problem for the adequate windows to deaden the noise (not everyone wants banging music until midnight if they had a cut of time of 11 but not everyone wants the same things)

Staff were very friendly and welcoming , any concerns they sorted it straight away. Cocktails were amazing! Evening entertainment was great. Overall great location just a bit far out from everything. But will stay again.
Food was not so nice had a burger and couldn't even eat it. But that didn't effect how we felt about the hotel we will be back again.

The room and hard working staff. Entertainment was second to none and will definitely return.
Good transport into Blackpool centre and plenty of parking nearby.

the room was well equipped with what I need. towel, toilet paper, coffee, tea milk and sugar, spoon****good!, TV, heat.
what I need is a box tissue, and some hooks in the shower and basin area.
I would expect a mini fridge, but failed.
I'd expect a room with view, but I got a window only, I booked 3 weeks b4, maybe too late?

Cleanliness
Bed was comfortable
Staff polite friendly and efficient
Soap and shampoo should have been provided
The shower should have been attached to the wall
The fire door to the room should have been attached by all of its hinges and not have a huge gap all around it

Better shower no curtains people could see right in lamps weren't working over bed hairs on shower very small not recommended

I liked the entertainment. One of the two single beds was comfy. Lots of storage space also.
The place is listed as disabled accessible but the wheelchair ramp door was locked so we had to ask and wait to come in and out.reason given was high winds. It's hotel responsibility to ensure a strong enough door so disabled can access or don't list as accessible. Rooms are not cleaned properly as I found all blue sticky drink dripping from 2 sets of drawers. Better training would benefit this hotel. I work in this field and would never miss this obvious sticky mess. Bathroom sliding door was broken.
