Lovely host, clean rooms and great value

Great position, just down the road from the train station. The train noise was very minimal.

Modern, clean rooms in a great location in Vernazza!

Our family of 6 booked one double room and a two bedroom suite for five nights. The rooms were very clean and had air conditioning which was a must with the summer heat. The rooms were in a great location and very easy to access from the train station. Our hosts were very responsive and friendly… would highly recommend the property for your stay in Vernazza!

Stay here, you will not regret it, owner is lovely and helpful.

The location was awesome, so close to everything, felt part of everything in Vernazza. The owner gave us very clear and easy instructions to locate it from the train station. The owner was very helpful with nice places to eat etc.

I guess I would have like a window to see into the main street or view but that's ok because it was still a great location. Loved how you can keep a window open in the night. Felt very safe. Was not too many stairs to climb.

we got everything what we came looking for cinque terre. thanks for having us and we have nothing to complain about.

if u are in cinque terre for hiking and sightseeing and your accommodation is primarily for sleeping then you cant go wrong with Santa Marta Rooms. room was clean and it had everything what needed. also the room is near train station and street wise on a flat ground. in cinque terre you will appreciate it.

for few days ok, but for a longer stay might be a bit too dark at least for us. stairs were already mentioned - they were not a probleem for us, but you should be aware of them.

Excellent experience and if back in the area I would consider staying at Santa Marta Rooms again.

Perfect location very central and close to the train station. Very friendly host: the communication was clear, helpful and relaxed. The room is really nice, everything is new and the bathroom super comfortable. Really loved the shower!!!

Great very central rooms AA+++++

Perfect apartments right in the centre of Vernazza . Only downside were the stairs and I’m unfit ! The apartment was lovely with breakfast, a variety of teas, fridge , shampoo etc provided and nice fluffy towels with great HOT shower .. it was perfect for our stay . There is a mini supermarket downstairs if you want to buy anything

Lovely well-equipped apartment with amazing hosts, but don't go to Vernazza in summer!

The apartment was very well-located for access to the train station, which is a real boon when travelling with luggage. The instructions to check in were ace, and recommendations for restaurants sent before check in were highly appreciated. The hosts, whom we didn't actually meet, went way above and beyond any expectation for hospitality after a waiter from a nearby restaurant accidentally spilled some oil from a pasta dish on one of our party's white trousers - he contacted Alessandro immediately and the next day the hosts came to pick up the trousers, and managed to get the stain out almost completely (bearing in mind it was quite a large greenish oil stain!). That level of consideration and the kindness and flexibility Alessandro displayed as we coordinated was something I haven't encountered before. The space itself is very nice and comfortable, and was really good value for Vernazza. They've really done the work to optimise the apartment for medium-term guests, to the extent that you have a fridge and good cups and glasses, with restaurants and coffee shops right outside your window.

We couldn't find any extra towels - but perhaps we didn't look in all the right places! With the need to shower every day in humid August, it would be nice to have an obvious abundance of towels. I'd have appreciated a microwave or toaster oven for the times when it was not possible to make a dinner reservation! On a note totally unrelated to the apartment and its hosts, and therefore not impacting the review at all, is that I would absolutely not recommend to anybody to go to Vernazza or the Cinque Terre generally in summer. We actually left a night early from our three-night stay because the crowds were just totally overwhelming. It was unpleasant beyond description to even get off the train - we had to queue for about ten minutes on the platform to go down the stairs into the town, which was packed cheek-by-jowl with harried travelers. To eat in the evening, you absolutely have to have a reservation, or else queue for an age. The oil-spilling incident was a result of the massive overcrowding and extreme pressure on the waiters to get to all the hangry. Seriously just do not go in summer.

A gem we were lucky to find.

Perfect location in Vernazza. Walking distance from station/ shuttle drop-off and 1 minute walk from the beach. Check in was smooth with keys provided in lockbox. Great communication with hosts. Modern apartment, comfortable beds and a great hideaway from the crowds. In the midst of everything, but not noisy at all. Two sets of stairs to get to apartment, but doubt if there will be anything in Vernazza without stairs.

Rather take a ferry/ train than your own car. The road to Cinque Terre/ Vernazza is narrow and challenging. Although the parking recommended by hosts worked perfectly and the shuttled drop-off is an easy walk to the apartment

this is a good apartment and I highly recommend it. The place was clean and the location was perfect, right in the middle of Varnazza. it is well decorated and they made good use of a small space

you have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to the apartment so this is not for everyone. the AC in the bedrooms did. it work well and we were warm at night

Great home base to explore the Cinque Terre.

Great location in Vernazza. The apartment was perfect for our family of four. There were a lot of stairs, which wasn’t an issue for us, but would be for someone with mobility issues.

The location is right on the main road of the village.

Spacious bedrooms. High Ceiling. Big wardrobe. Nice sofa. Big bathroom.

Has to walk up 3 floors/stairs with luggages and also when check out. And the loud noise of people talking and singing from the restaurant/bar downstairs would not stop until 1am every night. Mainly from the restaurant “lunch box” across the street.

Pleasant stay at this location. Amenities were basic but were all we needed for the short visit.

Located near the train station on the main street but still a very quiet room. After seeing the location of some of the other places I was so thankful we didn’t have to do that type of climb up into the hillside. Security of the room was good as there are 3 locking doors to go through first.

Everything was good about the property. Even though main entrance was at street level there were still quite a few stairs to climb up to the room.

The location in the city center of Vernazza - and very close to the train station - is really nice. The apartment was very clean.

It’s very noisy. Bars organize some late parties (till 1 or 2 am). In the morning, it becomes noisy around 8am (deliveries, waste truck…). The train passes through the village every 20 minutes at least and the apartment is really really really close to the train station. Very steep stairs to reach the apartment. Our 3yo daughter managed them very well though !

Enjoyed Cinque Terre very much. Location of room allowed easy access to restaurants and cafes.

Perfetto!

Our first visit to the Cinque Terre area and it exceeded our expectations. Our hosts were extremely helpful and made sure we were well prepared for the visit and made us aware that Vernazza was a completely pedestrian village. The room was top notch and the location could not be beat. We visited right before the tourist season started which we found to be an advantage as our hiking and shopping was done without crowds. We had great weather and the convenience of the train allowed us to move up and down the coast with ease.

Vernazza is built on a hill and so everywhere there are stairs. So if you don't like to climb stairs you will not enjoy yourself.

Lovely accomodation and a fantastic host

Francesca was enormous pleasant, flexible and available all the time. Sie also organized a parking space for us and a possibility to leave the luggage. Furthermore you can find a little breakfast and tea and coffee in your room. We really enjoyed our short stay!

Exceptional

Everything was very clean and the location was perfect. You stepped outside into a happening little Vernazza town, but the second you shut your door the sound stopped and you had your own private area to rest and regroup. The property was remodeled and had a big bathroom with a very nice shower

Alessandro, the owner, is very welcoming and Helpful. From help with luggage to restaurant booking, parking space reserving, very Kind Service The apartment is in the 3rd floor. There are a few stairs up. Modern equipped in the Center of the town. It was a great stay. Thank you Alessandro
