Séjour à cet hotel à ne pas renouveler

La qualité du déjeuner qui est à peu près correct.

Une des chambres standard était très très modeste, parquet abimé, chambre étroite par rapport à l'autre, distributeur savon hors service, pas de savonnette pour le bidet, pas de produit type lait pour le corps (c'est quand même un 4 étoiles et cela a été constaté par la personne de la réception). Nous avons donc demandé de changer cette chambre, la réponse a été impossible car plus de standard et si nous voulions une autre chambre il fallait prendre une supérieure et là le marchandage a commencé, il fallait rajouter dans un premier temps 75 euros puis ensuite 50 euros et à la fin 35 euros vu notre réticence et notre colère nous n'avons pas accepté. Pour information nos amis étaient déjà venu et avez eu une belle chambre standard ?? il existe donc plusieurs chambres standard de niveau différents, il faut faire attention ?? Il y avait la présence de groupes dans l’hôtel ou des conférenciers ce qui rend l’hôtel peu agréable. Il est préférable de choisir un autre hôtel plus proche et un vrai 4 étoiles et non un hôtel style congrès

Hotel was spotless with tasteful decor. All looked fairly new. Very good breakfast.

But far from main areas. About 25-30 mins which is normally fine for us but didn’t realise it was uphill so ended up largely being out all day and staying out to eat and drink only coming back for night cap and bed. Not many restaurants or bars in immediate area. Would have preferred a king sized bed as standard.

Awesome hotel with very friendly staffs, highly recommended

The rooms are pretty big, spacious parking (10 Euro per day), very good breakfast with good coffee. All the staffs are very friendly, especially in the reception and bar. Don't forget to dress up warm in the evening to visit the Bar, in Porto it is pretty cold in the late evenings. City center is not far away around 30 minutes walk or Taxi to visit the city center is around 5 Euro,

Price for food in the restaurant. It is bit expensive.

Disappointing stay. Hotel can't meet service standards.

The bed and breakfast were good.

Unfortunately the hotel didn't meet expectations. We stayed in a superior room. The shower was not working properly and the hose kept detaching itself. The body soap dispenser was also not working (good thing we brought our own). The hairdrier only lasts for 30 secs before overheating and you can't use it for almost 30 minutes. It was raining a lot and we asked for a proper hairdier at reception. They didn't have one. They offered to dry our shoes and pants and said they would go to the room to pick them up "soon" which took 3 hours. When we came back later in the day the shows and pants were back but still wet like nothing was done to them. They also say they have parking but they charge 10€ per day for the whole duration of the stay, so even if you just need the garage for 1 day they still charge all the days. The location was also not very good and it was very expensive for all these burdens. Not going to come back unfortunately.

Superb

The hotel looked exactly like on the pictures. We only stayed one night and all was great. especially also the choice at breakfast.

You are paying for parking (in the safe and big garage) as described. we arrived at 9pm and checked out at 8am the next day. we asked if we could leave the car in the garage until the afternoon as we wanted to explore the city before going to the next place. even though the garage was more than half-empty, the answer first was no. then they said yes against additional charge and then in the end yes but only until 3pm. I think this is something to be aware about if you come by car. the parking might be more expensive than what is described even though you are not even staying 24hrs at that hotel. we didn't find it very pleasant and unclearly communicated. other than that we can clearly recommend the hotel and would go back there ourselves...

pretty average hotel for what we paid. a few simple changes, ie working hairdryer and ability to make cup of tea would o

it had car parking and we had 3 motorbikes in our group but they did charge €5 per night per bike which I thought was harsh as they only took up 2 parking spaces! outside bar was cosy and comfortable, bed was comfy and room cleaned daily

tea making facilities but no milk. hair drier cut out every 30 seconds, informed reception and told they were all the same- not helpful!

very clean and an easy walk down hill to city center. marques subway station an easy walk to hotel. take a cab up the hill unless u have strong legs. I’m 70 so for less than $3.00 easy trip

Great time in Porto

The presentation of the Hotel, room, everything was clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable. The staff were all nice and always willing to help. The buffet breakfasts were excellent, fresh fruit, juice and a variety of food. Everything was freshly cooked. Everything very organised. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again. I had a great time staying in Porto and at hotel Cristal Porto.

I am very sensitive to noises so a noise free environment is like a paradise for me. The room I stayed in was not as isolated as I wished as the room/window was facing the road and at certain times of the day/night the noise from the cars passing by was somehow loud. However during a quiet time it was peaceful and relaxing. Besides that overall I was very happy with everything.

Breakfast was good, rich choice. Big rooms, clean. Beautiful and modern lobby. Can be recommended.

WC is too small, pretty cold in rooms, rooms are available at 15:00, which is too late, compared to another hotels. Located pretty far away from the center of the city

Just a suggestion ,not a complaint. Improve the breakfast regards some of the things were cold. But on the whole I like it and I will come again to porto and stay at cristal hotel

Only good if you drive to Porto.

Very comfortable bed and room comes with balcony! Very nice breakfast! Not very far from downtown, exactly as stated on booking.com secured parking at €10/night

Wifi is very unstable.. Poor signal all the times despite connected.. Staff wasn’t that good in English, to my surprise as most Portuguese speaking very good English.. Got misunderstood a few times regarding booking issues.. Don’t understand the city tax @€2/pax/night. why don’t just charge into the room rates. Other than these, it’s a beautiful hotel..

Overall as expected but not really 4 stars

A very new and modern hotel. We enjoyed the big rooms, a good quality mattress, the bath in the room and the tiling.

Small things. The style is light and airy, with a lot of white light and mirrors. The bathrooms are a bit small compared to the room (narrow shower or bidet too close to the wall). There are no fresh flowers or plants (all are plastic). We booked a deluxe room with king or queen size bed. We were given a bed 1.55 metres wide, and told this is queen size. Half way through our week we asked again and could move to an upgraded room which was exceptional, with a huge bed and exceeded our expectations. There is a safe box in the room but it is not fixed to the wall. It is a no smoking hotel but there is no facility for smokers and as a consequence the front of the hotel was quite messy with cigarette stubs. A small bin would fix this.

Breakfast provided a good variety of food for various tastes and various appetites. The Hotel was a little far from the city centre for those that enjoy a walk

The provision of an informal access to a “ coffee shop “ facility would have been very welcoming

Everything was sort of too modest.
