Diana is a very kind and helpful host; the place is simple but has everything you need. Breakfast and dinner are available, and are homemade and very good. The host will provide transportation to the park if you need.

Diana is very friendly and welcoming, making us feeling like home. The room is simple and has all the necessary to get the perfect Mulu experience. Excellent position, 20 minutes walking from the park. Reccommended

Diana‘s Homestay is a nice little family business & everyone is very caring & friendly. Great for a solo traveler to meet likeminded people & having a great chat. I felt safe & the food was absolutely delicious. Drinks were very reasonable priced.
The Homestay is still in the making & that you can’t see in the photos. However it also represents the poverty of this area where people still have a very basic happy life. Transport & communication is definitely a problem & needs improvement. Diana is working on it 😀

Diana is an amazing host and her cooking super!
Desmomd is the most dedicated guide we have met during our three weeks in Borneo!
Swimming in the river in front of the house is a must!
This is a homestay. If you don't expect luxury this is a fantastic place to stay.

The place was amazing and Diana was so helpfull, the food was great and the rooms were really clean. We recommend this place if you're going to Mulu.

Diana seems to be motivated to make your stay comfortable.
Breakfast is quite simple and basic
It's 30 minutes to Mulu park, 45 minutes walking to the airport.
Electicity only 6PM-6AM. You get notified after booking.
While I walked from the airport, I met Diana half distance on her way back, after she dropped people at the airport.
Also one evening after the park, she picked me up on the street while passing by.
At check out she charged me for transport :(
You can stay cheaper in the park with 24/7 electricity

Property was close to the National park and was a great experience

Diana is super host. Food is fantastic. Top value for money. Highly recommended.
Nothing but do remember it’s a home stay not the Marriott!

Diana was a lovely host who made us a great dinner and breakfast.
She was also available to give us transfers to and from the national park and was easy to contact.
The beds are comfortable and facilities are as described in booking.
We only needed to stay one night but would happily have stayed longer if needed.

The kindness of the host and her family,
The cleanliness,
The food,
The very good value for money,
The cleanliness,
The comfy beds,
The private bathroom
The main building would benefit from better simple heat insulation (shadow nets, ventilation, plants...).

Diana was very welcoming, helpful, and cooked the most tasty and abundant meals I've had in a while.
Except for one day, there was no water in the head shower even during the hours where the electric was on (aprox 6pm to 6am), so one had to shower filling up a bucket with the regular tap, and water was cold. It was Ok though for 2 days and it was part of the experience of living like the locals, in a very simple way.

the diversity of the guests and the variety in the meals served on the evening
sometimes it can be very warm

Diana is the excellent cook. she is very good host.
No electricity and hot water. But that’s government issue. nothing she can do about it.

Had the most beautiful stay at Diana homestay in mulu! Diana was a wonderful host who cooks the most amazing and authentic local food. From the minute I arrived Diana helped organise any tours and activities and organised any transportation I required. I would highly recommend this beautiful homestay in mulu. Thank you Diana x

I really liked staying here! Diana is very welcoming and makes some of the most delicious breakfasts I’ve ever had. Gunung Mulu park is a 20-25 minute walk or Diana is happy to drop you in her car if you ask. I was very comfortable and pleased with the property.

It’s an amazing experience to step out of your comfort zone and stay here. Diana and her family are so friendly and helpful. It was a relaxing stay and refreshing break from “normal”.

Diana's homestay is conveniently located outside the Mulu national park. By foot, you can reach the park entrance within approx. 30 mins.
Also, the guesthouse team will arrange for your transport to the park, if you prefer that over walking. There is no alternative transportation (bus, Grab, Maxim) available, so make sure to let Diana know your ETA, so she can pick you up from the airport. The team at the homestay is absolutely lovely and very helpful.
Helen is a great cook and I've enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners she prepared. She will also prepare packed lunch if you like.
During my stay, WLAN was not available and power will only be available 6pm to 6am, when the power generator is working. Also, there is no hot water available and water pressure isn't great, but that wasn't a problem for me. The rooms are very spacious and beds are very comfy. I would stay at Diana's homestay again.

Typical hostel for backpackers and budget tourists, besides there is practically no other choice in the area. Nicely situated on the riverside, nice relaxing view from the terrace. Modestly equipped, fans in the rooms, tea and coffee available. The hostel has a pleasant homely atmosphere. Wonderful owner Diana who is the soul of this place. Helps with everything, arranges transportation, guide (private guide costs MYR 150 for half day, airport transfer MYR 5 per person), will prepare delicious home-made breakfasts and dinners.
The photos do not reflect the actual appearance of the building and rooms. It would be useful to clean up the surroundings of the facility a bit because it looks like a littered construction site. Rooms and especially the bathroom should also be cleaned more thoroughly.

great location on (swimmable) river bend. it is a Homestay… and Diana is brilliant. home cooked food is superb. Desmond is a park guide and recommend his tours.
it would be great if they had somewhere to sit outside near the river.
any negative reviews about Diana can only be about false expectations of a Homestay. This was exactly as we expected and very chilled.
there is some building work now until may 2023 (they say) but really it didn’t disturb as stopped by 5pm.

very friendly host, great food for a good price, fun pets :)
locations was a bit noisy with the pier and the construction works

The warm welcome and hospitality by Diana!
Air conditioner was a but loud, also the rooster crowed "actively" early in the morning.

Great place to meet other travelers and the food is so good!! Please note that there is no warm shower and no electricity during the day. It’s a 30minute (if you walk relaxed) walk to HQ but Diana can bring you as well (for a small fee at the end).

Diana was an outstanding host and we felt very welcomed at her home. She cooked excellent food for dinner and there were plenty of options for breakfast. The view from the balcony is beautiful when looking at the rainforest and the river right in front of the homestay.
Even if the stay is a bit further away from the Mulu National Park, Diana always provides a ride to and from there as well as a drive from the airport and back.
The diesel generator is a bit noisy in the night but this is common in Mulu.

There is river in front of the house. Very nice view from balcony and relaxing atmosphere. In the middle of nature. Very tasty food. Diana also offered drinks etc eith the same price like in minimart.
There was no electricity one night but Diana was helpful and gave us power banks. Sometimes the distance from NP was hard to walk in heat. But overall everything was very good

Food, hostess and beds were great.
No air conditioning or power for fans after 6am so room was very hot. Shower did not have enough pressure to run. We enjoyed a bucket shower but this wouldn't suit everyone.

very nicely located near Mulu National Park, clean and with A/C
Diana is a very friendly and super helpful host! she picked us up from the airport, drove us to the national park every time we wanted and cooked very delicious dinner for us! She was just wonderful! very recommendable Homestay
5.0
the food was decent, but not really as good as the other reviews claimed!
Be Aware - the owner will charge you 5myr per person for rides to and from the national park or airport... so that’s 20 myr a day extra for a couple. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, but considering that’s the ONLY way to get to this far away location, its seems like it should just be included in the price! Also she kind of frowned anytime we asked for anything, so not super friendly either.

We loved everything about Diana homestay. The peaceful slow life in the countryside with swimming in the river or just hanging out with the cats was restful. And then there was Diana’s cooking which is the best in the area bar none! highly recommend! Diana was also extremely helpful in sorting out trips to the park and picking us up even when it was late.

Diana's Homestay was phenomenal. Very close to the park, and Diana makes the best food in all of Borneo. I would highly recommend this location to anyone thinking about coming to the park.
