If you're looking for a darling apartment in the heart of the Chueca neighborhood of Madrid, look no further. I just finished a three month stay working in Madrid and was so fortunate to find this beautiful apartment as my home away from home. It's darling, with gorgeous, tall windows that open to little Juliette balconies overlooking the street below. Amazing bars, restaurants and coffee all within a few feet of your front door! The building is very secure, the apartment has everything you could want and the neighborhood is one of the best in Madrid! The owner is a GEM, who is so welcoming and eager to make sure your stay is perfect. Seriously...stop looking and book this place. You won't be sorry!

This apartment is in an ideal location. We walked to most attractions. Felt very safe. It was nice to have a local supermarket. The apartment was clean, nice updated bathroom and comfortable bed. We would certainly stay here again!

The apartment was everything we hoped for. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood was fun and convenient for museums. When we arrived late on a Saturday the heat wasn’t working and Gorete had her helper stop by to help us. With a space heater and an extra blanket we were very cozy. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Everything from before checking in communication and checkin process was so easy with the hostess! The amount of information provided was above and beyond what you normally expect. I appreciated how perfect this place was. Modern and clean with touches of old building architecture with exposed wood planks. There was nothing left to desire in a home stay, except maybe a little longer time of hot water for showers. Either that or I need to learn how to take faster showers 😊 I would definitely recommend this place and would love to be able to come back.

Everything was absolutely perfect. We were met on arrival and shown everything in the apartment, there were also maps available and suggestions on everything you might want to do. Tons of tapas bars and restaurants and tours! We were sorry that we only had a week, not nearly long enough..... Madrid is a beautiful city.

Such a beautiful apartment in Madrid. The pictures look great but the apartment is so much better. The apartment is spotless and furnished with high quality items. The location is perfect. It was so easy to get a taxi at the corner but walking was easy. Conveniently located to the museum area, Retiro Park and pleasant strolls down the Paseo del Proado. Turn the other direction and choose to walk Alcala or Gran Via to dowtown. Shopping in the are is convenient as well as a selection of many types of restaurants. Madrid is a beautiful city and it is so easy to see it from this apartment. We also felt like we were living as close to locals as we could.

Owner is delightful and has other properties in Madrid. Very attentive and responsive without being intrusive. Has great knowledge of the neighborhood and City, and provides a nice overview to help visitors get oriented, find restaurants and attractions. Also, checks in to make sure everything is going smoothly. Calle de Libertad is a great neighborhood in the heart of the Madrid, and an easy walk to most sites and attractions. The apartment was charming, newly renovated and provides everything you need. Nice kitchen with washer/dryer, dish washer, stove, refrigerator ... Bathroom is complete and very well designed. Furnishings are attractive and well thought out. Two balconies overlook the charming Calle de Libertab. The apartment is on the second floor, and can be accessed by an elevator. Property manager lives in building and is helpful and pleasant. Owner recommended a tour guide for a walking tour of City and museum(s). She was very charming, a native of Madrid, and knows the city completely. We spent two days with her, and she is a great companion, has great knowledge (degree in Art History), and is passionate about the arts and history of Madrid and Spain. Highly recommend! We put a lot of trust in the owner, and from start to finish she over-delivered. We greatly appreciate all of the thought that went in to making our stay perfect, and look forward to our return.

We have been guests at many Homeaway and Airbnb properties around the world. Gorete's apartment ranks at the top of our experiences. The light-filled apartment is beautifully designed, decorated, stocked with basic necessities and more. The towels, linens and mattress (heavenly) were especially luxurious. It is on a quiet street in a vibrant neighborhood with grocery stores, pharmacies, shops and wonderful restaurants within a short walking distance. Gorete's colleague checked us in, explained how to use the appliances and provided written instructions and recommendations that answered virtually any question we could have had. We stayed two weeks so we had ample opportunity to explore the neighborhood and surrounding area. We loved the fact that the apartment was in a residential (vs. tourist) area. We highly recommend. 10-plus stars!

This apartment is a wonderful base for exploring the city, Location is excellent, walkable to almost anywhere, super food choices on the same block and all through this neighborhood. The apartment is clean, and bright and modern with all the right touches, we loved every minute!

We booked this apartment for our first 3 nights in Madrid. We wish we would have booked the whole week as it was so beautiful and in a amazing location! Gorte greeted us so kindly with wine, almond cake with chocolate and double cheek kisses. She was so warm, friendly and helpful. She treated us like family. The bed was incredibly comfortable and our street had a wonderful array of choices to eat and drink. The wine bar a few doors down the street had excellent wine too! I would love to come back again to Madrid and will most definitely stay here again! Thank you for your amazing hospitality Gorete!

We had an awesome experience in this beautiful apartment. It is a mix of old and super modern. The most striking feature is the light that comes through the vintage windows into the spacious living room. Bathroom and kitchen are well equipped not only with new appliances but also with every thing that you may need to begin your stay: from a complementary bottle of wine,, coffee,,tea to hair products and luxury towels. The location was within walking distance to museums, theaters, Sol. and of course, El Corte Ingles. Before our stay, our super host briefed us on restaurants and transportation. The restaurant right next to our building was incredibly good. Full of locals, reservations required. What we loved the most of our experience in Chuecas was that we felt not like tourists but truly part of the community. Thanks Gorette for such a memorable time. We are looking forward to returning.

Beautiful, charming apartment in a lovely neighbourhood of Madrid. Restaurants and bars, from traditional to trendy, within meters of the apartment. All the major sites and museums of central Madrid are within walking distance. Easy access to multiple metro lines. Nothing lacking in this immaculate apartment.

We had a lovely stay at this really great apartment. This apartment has everything you need including a great location. We walked all over town but when we came home the neighborhood was very quiet even on the weekend. A well written book explains all of the appliances so actually living there is easy. We love Madrid and when we return we will hope this property will be open.

Stunning, clean,bright and comfy apartment. Even the sleep sofa was comfortable for naps . The kitchen has everything we needed to make breakfast and even 6 dinners during our 10 night stay. (even a few extras like paper towels and coffee) The location of this charming apartment is absolutely perfect!! One plus block away from all the Gran Via action and easy access to walk or train (which is one block away) to everything. Chueca itself is filled with restaurant, lovely bars and great shops. It is quiet at night with enough noise to just remind you that you are in Madrid-an amazing city. Gorete is a great hostess and has helpful news letter and all info about the apartments appliances operations in a handy notebook. They did come and clean mid week during our 10 day stay which was perfect. I only give a 4 not 5 star because the hot water for showers was an issue. Only my husband and myself stayed here and did not both get hot showers when we showered back to back (fyi we are quick shower people). We would stay here again if in Madrid and have already recommended this apartment to several friends.

Just completed a 2 week stay in this wonderful Chueca apartment. The owner Gorete and assistance Alicia were both responsive and helpful in booking, and making my arrival a quick and pleasant experience. First off, let me say that I travel a great deal for work and have stayed in many VRBO homes. This is by far the most meticulously maintained and outfitted one I have ever stayed in. Everything provided is exactly as it should be, the apartment is sparkling clean and every item, light switch, lamp, light, coffee, shower, everything works. I did not find one item that was out of place, missing or could be improved upon. The apartment has a great kitchen, with a washer and dryer, the King Bed was very comfortable, great heat and AC, flat screen TV with Netflix provided, great Wifi, great bathroom and shower. Two full size sets of french doors will open and let in great air and light. Just outside the apartment are two good sized grocery stores, many specialty shops, a pharmacy, hardware/household store if you need something, many great restaurants and bars. This neighborhood is residential/retail/nightlife. The apartment is on a quieter street for this neighborhood but on the weekend it is just a bit more lively than weekdays so while not a deal breaker, just be aware. I would stay in the apartment again and again, it was this nice. If you are a slob and don't care to take care of this home, please stay somewhere else!!! Thanks, Gorete and Alicia.

This lovely apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay and Gorete is a thoughtful host, providing a bottle of wine and sweets to welcome us😊�. Her helper, Alicia, was also very nice and helped us get a taxi to the train station when we left. A manual explaining how the different appliances work was very helpful, and the king size bed was really comfortable.

We have stayed in other apartments owned by Gorete and while they're all beautiful with top amenities, this one is our favorite (although you can't go wrong with any of her properties!). The architectural features of exposed beams, wood floors, and kitchen tiles are stunning. Spacious with an incredibly comfortable king-sized bed, this apartment has everything you need (great WIFI, television, washer-dryer, dishwasher, stove, fridge, central air, etc.). Gorete and Alicia provide such a warm welcome, offering restaurant recommendations and securing a taxi for our departure, you'll feel like you have friends in Madrid upon arrival. The property is immaculately clean and beyond comfortable. While this unit is located on the second floor, an elevator is available to carry you past the two large flights of stairs if needed (although it is not completely ADA accessible as the elevator stops a half-flight short). Stylish and modern yet very Spanish, this is simply a great space. The setting of the apartment is phenomenal. While listed as Chueca, the building is situated just off the Gran Vía---far enough away to avoid the noise and traffic and not really near rowdier sections in Chueca. This stretch of Calle Libertad is pretty quiet and has many great restaurants: Propaganda 12 is a wonderful Italian wine bar up the street, the Mercado San Antón is two short blocks away, and there's also a great little grocery store (Veritas), wine shop (Carlota Wine Shop), and more food, all just steps away (Restaurante Bazaar, Diurno, etc). All of the major sites in Madrid are within easy 15-minute walks, and this location puts you near so many great neighborhoods. The rates are very reasonable, you won't be disappointed. We return to Madrid every year or two, and we always rent with Gorete because she and her apartments are wonderful!

My husband and I stayed for over a week in this spacious apartment in Madrid. Alicia was waiting for us when we arrived and explained everything about the various amenities. And both Alicia and Gorete checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Because we had a longer stay, the washer/dryer unit was a huge help to us. There is also ample storage in the unit to put things away. An elevator takes you most of the way up to the apartment. There are a few stairs to climb from there to get to the unit. We actually prefer stairs so we used the elevator only twice during our stay -- when we had our luggage with us. In addition to the beautiful Mercado San Anton which is only a few blocks away (and well worth visiting!) there's a Dia supermarket that is about 2 a minute walk from the apartment -- very convenient for basic necessities! While the closest metro is Chueca, the Banco de Espana metro stop is only 5 minutes walk and is on Line 2 (the red line) which takes you to many of the older central locations in Madrid. Also, only about a 5 minute walk from the apartment is the Circulo de Bellas Artes. You can buy tickets to the rooftop there for a breathtaking view of Madrid. There is bar up there too. So if you like, you can sip your favorite beverage while you take in that view! A 10 minute walk away is the Palacio de Cibeles (the old central post office.) The building is gorgeous inside and out and you can enjoy coffee on an outdoor terrace there (just go inside and take the elevator up). There are also many excellent restaurants within a few blocks of the apartment including La Barraca for paealla. I lived in Madrid for six years back in the 80s and learned about La Barraca then. In my opinion, it's still the best restaurant in Madrid for paella. For those who cannot tolerate noise, you probably do not want to stay in any of the most central locations in Madrid. As central locations go, this one has normal noise but it is actually quieter than other places in the area. This apartment provides the perfect blend of comfort and being where the action is.

Wow! My husband and I stayed at this property for over a week and it couldn't have been more perfect. First, the property looks exactly like the photos. Extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. Alicia was there when we arrived and explained everything to us perfectly. It is hard to find the comforts of the States in Spain and this place had it all. A king size comfortable bed, a washer/dryer combo, air conditioning, (Not that we really needed it as we got lucky with the weather), big windows for lots of light, good size bathroom and in a great location. This wasn't our first time in Spain but if it's yours I strongly recommend staying at one of Gorete's properties. She provides you with everything you could ever need for a wonderful vacation. She even checked in on us to make sure everything was going great. When we had a question she was quick to respond. The customer service is unlike anywhere we have ever stayed. Which is something considering that we travel for a living. This property is very well situated in Madrid. It is close the metro, Gran Via, and some amazing restaurants. Be ready to live the Madrid city night life though. There are many restaurants on the street open until 2am and dinner is served late so people are on the streets until 2am. Which means noise. It is part of the charm of Spain, and I only mention this so those who are unfamiliar are aware that this is not a quiet part of town. It is however, only an easy 10-15 minute walk to the museums, el Retiro and there is even a pharmacy on the corner. (Which I needed, because I ended up having a cold my whole vacation). As you can see, we throughly enjoyed our stay and hope you do too. As long as it's still available for us next time we come to Spain :)

Este luminoso , espacioso y muy hermoso apartamentro situado en el concurrido y centrico barrio Chueca, se convirtio inmediatamente en mi hogar en Madrid. Está muy bien situado, cerca de todo, pero en una calle de poco ruido. No precisas cocinar (aunque el apartamento cuenta con todas las facilidades) por que cerca estan algunos muy buenos restaurantes. A solo pocos metros estra el Mercado de San Anton, y tambien otros mercados normales para hacer las compras. Todo en el apartamento es nuevo y esta en perfecto estado, cama comoda y el baño moderno. Perfecto para una pareja o hasta 3 personas Mención aparte la incompoarable atención de Alicia que es impecable en su trabajo y sonrisa. Pero sin duda lo mejor es Gorete la propietaria y mejor anfitriona ever! Muchas veces he rentado en vrbo, pero primera vez que tengo una amiga, pendiente de uno, preocupada por que la pases bien, colaboradora, etc, etc. Salimos de este apartamento teniendo un hogar en Madrid y una nueva mejor amiga!
