The tranquility and separate villas for more privacy.
Could not enjoy the sea much due to rough sea nor the pool as cold weather.
Also could not enjoy outdoor bathtub of my room as was not functional. And spas fully booked.
Also child bed, really small and hard to sleep. First night, she fell off the bed and the remaining 3 nights she had to sleep with us and as usual parents sleep on the edge with a toddler doing the clock on bed.

The hotel restaurant has a spectacular view over the Indian Ocean and the rolling hills of Rodrigues. Our very comfy room (30) has a great uninterrupted view of the ocean from the bed (although it's next to the car park). The amenities in the room were good with a fridge, kettle, and TV. The breakfast has everything you would expect, and you can order your eggs to your liking, the evening menu varied nightly and catered for vegetarians. The drinks at the bar are tasty. The staff are friendly. The spa is good. Recommend the walk to the stunning remote beaches, a great way to explore the area.
It's hard to dislike a place that has great design and location, and maybe the hotel leans on this too much and ignores attention to detail.
Communication at the hotel was limited, for example, we were not informed (by anyone or a notice) of the Saturday night buffet and Sega dance. Similarly, if you request anything, reception has to be reminded. Turn down was different every night.
The food; this was one of the reasons we chose to stay at Tekoma. Believing the photos, the food looked delicious, but that’s it. For both breakfast and dinner, great thought has gone into the presentation of the food. However, the flavours do not match the lovely presentation. For breakfast you can order eggs to how you like, but the toast that comes with the eggs is like cardboard, small portions and the poached eggs were dry. There is a buffet with breads, cereals etc. Order the pancakes. For dinner, there are good choices on the menu, but we found the taste to be quite bland compared to other hotels we stayed in on Rodrigues. Desserts were good. Like most hotels, the price for wine is up in the clouds.
The service; the staff in the restaurant are friendly, and well-presented. They appear busy all that time yet, we felt ignored at the bar, waiting 10 minutes on the first night before someone asked us what we would like to drink, like we were an afterthought. Following evenings, we just went straight to the barperson and ordered. There is a lack of awareness during service at the restaurant which was slow, and we received the wrong order several times (lost in translation perhaps). We eat late (not after the end of service), and we would still be eating when the staff started clearing up around us like we didn’t exist. Only once in the stay did someone come over and ask if everything was good with the meal. Not up to expectations.
Overall, it’s a really nice hotel, in a great location, just needs to up the level of service to justify the price.

Large, comfy room in a great location. The room was large and with a nice outdoor seating area; the wifi worked well throughout the hotel, and it was nice to have a mini fridge and Smart TV in the room. Great bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers. I'm sure the swimming pool is lovely in better weather than I experienced. There's a good choice of items at the buffet breakfast (though the toast the chef cooks if you order eggs is truly awful. How can a chef not know how to make a slice of toast?! Thankfully there's a toaster where you can make your own.)
The place seems to have delusions of grandeur. It's basically just a nice room with extremely mediocre food and OK to poor service. I'm usually a budget traveller, so this place was expensive for me. It's really not worth the extra money. I have low standards as a result of cheap travels, but the service and food didn't always meet even those.
The staff need better training. They're usually pleasant and polite but regularly incredibly inefficient. Restaurant staff wander around gazing anywhere but at customers who need something. They don't actively try to spot things to do.
Reception kindly asks about food allergies when you arrive. Then promptly ignores them, so I ate some food on the first night that I'm allergic to. Thankfully I spat it out quickly so wasn't ill.
The food is OK but doesn't live up to menu descriptions. I think the chef has real delusions of grandeur. The second evening's meal was particularly bad: A mushroom crême brulée starter was more of a mousse. He or she needs to Google to see what a crême brulée is. A pumpkin gratin main course was tepid, despite having a burnt top. I sent it back to be warmed up, so this time the lettuce side salad was also hot. The pumpkin dish itself was like a baby's puréed meal. Goodness knows what the slop consisted of. There are only two desserts on offer, but the waitress managed to bring me the one I'd not ordered. When the right one arrived it wasn't at all as described. The menu said it was a soft chocolate cake with almonds. In reality it was a small pale brown sponge that didn’t taste as if it'd ever seen a cocoa bean. The ice cream with it was OK though. The food was better on night three.
The cheapest bottle of red wine is $40. Ludicrous in such a mediocre hotel!!!

Everything! The bungalow was very quiet with a good view to the ocean and very well equipped and tastefully decorated. A very large and comfortable bed and a perfect bathroom with a separate toilet. The outdoor bathtub is a very romantic idea. And I loved the noiseless fan. The restaurant had good food, it was perfect for dinner, besides there's no alternatives around. The staff was very kind. The car rental was handled by the hotel staff. The hotel has good policies for sustainability of the sea and the island, we appreciatet it very much. I hope we can return one day, because we falled in love for Island Rodrigues!
Breakfast was ok but could be improved. This amazing place deserves an amazing breakfast.

Tekoma is located directly on a stunning beach with local hikes and beaches to explore in the vicinity. The food was very good and we loved the room as well! Highly recommend staying here. Also recommend renting a car from the airport which allows you to get around the island easily.

amazing place,we loved so much. great location, right on the beautiful and empty beach(more people only for weekend)very peacful and relaxing,if you searching for many activities this is not the place, great food, not big choice but amazing quality, not classic hotel food, rooms are great, outdoor shower is a nice touch, bed very comfortable, bedding very good, very clean, cleaning staff amazing, checking easy, reception staff amazing, restoran and bar staff one grade less but far from bad, it costs some money but we didn’t regret, thank you Tekoma
nothing really, maybe more staff would be better, bur we understund its a problem everywhere nowadays, we were so relaxed because of the overall experience that the few minutes waiting for staff really did not disturb us

We were lucky to stay 8 nights in this paradise place. You get 5 star service at this 4 star hotel - everyone seems to sincerely worry about your happiness. We arrived a day earlier , and the team found a solution to accommodate us even though it was in the highest season. The laguna is simply unbelievable beautiful!!! Bungalows are new and very comfortable. The property is well managed up to the best European standards. The food was delicious. We can only highly recommend this place!

Very friendly staff but sometimes they forget your order!!

- Rooms were fantastic with very nice bathrooms and bath tub.
- The beach and property grounds were beautiful and well-kept.
- Waiting staff seemed a bit unfocused on clients. Sometimes it took us a long time to even get eye contact to request something.
- Very poor breakfast options for vegans. Only dairy milk?! (potatoes, baked beans, bread and fruit were the only options every day).
- It seems they have a fixed menu for the half-board dinner with many options, however, they do not count on seasonality. Most of the chosen dishes came with different ingredients thay what was on the menu. I would suggest a shorter and more seasonal menu.

The food at the restaurant (lunch and dinner) is exquisite
Service is absolutely not in line with the hefty pricetag. Despite various correspondence, no transfer was arranged. I got a ride from a very friendly taxidriver at the airport but they still charged me for the ‘transfer’. Got the wrong food order twice and while I was there, they had no lemon so only 1 cocktail of the whole list of 12 or so was available. Interior decoration is beautiful but the rooms are not very clean (a bunch of sand in the closet that wasn’t removed during my stay). Breakfast is ok but not more than that.

Everything. Amazing Ocean view, very spacious room, great staff, stunning landscape and peaceful environment. Idyllic Indian ocean. Calm and peaceful. Lunch very delicious. Dinner too.
Thanks to all the great team of the hotel, thank you very much.
The pipe of the bathroom smells a bit sometimes.

The rooms are spacious and very very clean.
The staff are all so friendly and are also great with young children. We felt very welcomed.
Loved the Pool.

Stunning location, beautiful hotel and extra comfortable rooms. The outside bath was a huge plus. In half board the dinner is lovely. There is a hike from the hotel along the coast which brings you to secluded beaches, definitely a must!
I think it’s perfect for couples looking for a secluded, quiet haven. It might not be ideal if you are going with kids or friends as there isn’t much activity or entertainment except from the spa or the diving/ nature around.

Small, intimate, felt like our own private hotel at times. Dinners were fantastic!
Bar could’ve been better stocked. Hotel should’ve made a plan when they didn’t have lemons, get limes or offer cucumber in g&t. They also ran out of cheese for pizzas on the first day of our 3 night stay and they still hadn’t made a plan to be able to offer pizzas again when we left. Sadly the beach and sea had a lot of pollution which we picked up. The hotel should think of incentivizing their guests with a large bucket in each room saying for ever bucket beach rubbish collected, they’ll give a free beer or ice-cream maybe. Something fun to get everyone involved and active towards helping. It would’ve also been nice had the hotel had a small effort for a children’s activity for maybe even 1 hour in the afternoons to give parents a break and kids a change - learning about the plants on the property, basket weaving, bingo, nothing too hectic.
