We rented this place because of the recommendations, photos, and experience that the owners said they offered. Our experience was not the most pleasant for many reasons; from the start of the booking process, the manager took a long time to respond to our requests, but we thought it was due to the high demand for other events they could have at the property. They offered us several vendors of food, decoration, etc., but they were not useful to us, so we were able to find our own vendors. The only thing we needed from them was tables and chairs that, according to the photos on the listing, were good quality, which was not the case; they rented us horrible tables and chairs that were old and all of different styles. In addition, we wanted to check in earlier, and they told us that every hour was $50 extra for each hour early we were. When we arrived, we had not received any information from anyone about the check-in process and had to guess how to get directions. Regarding the house, the beds, bathrooms, wardrobes, and other rooms had mouse poop on them; the toilet paper they provided was half-used, and you could see mice creeping around in the middle of the night as if they owned the place. I guess since we were a very small gathering, they were not interested in giving us good service.

Michael was a great host - very responsive and took very good care of us during our stay. Lots of space to spread out in the house, which had lots of artistic and eclectic and vintage furniture and decorations. Will definitely come back!

We had a great time while at the house and we threw an event on the property which ended up having perfect weather and made for a wonderful day in the mountains! Unfortunately, our experience with the landlord and property management wasn't so great. We were clear from the beginning we were having an event for about 100 people. We were told the large barn could work for it. We were told it was clean and had working bathrooms. Our parents drove up to view the barn but found it unsanitary for food, drinks, and kids as there were birds living in it, poop on the floor, and non-operational bathrooms. So, we opted for the field instead. We rented a tent and paid for outdoor bathrooms. We were initially in contact with Kaislyn who managed payment. However, Kaislyn became increasingly difficult to reach so we primarily worked with Michael. As we were on our way to the house we were suddenly bombarded with messages that we hadn't paid for the field and that there were extra charges for mowing and setup which were never communicated to us. Michael and Kaislyn also accused us of not being transparent about the size of our event even though we had our parents view the big barn and always told them about 100 people (90 in the end). Ultimately, we paid any fees they requested (we couldn't possibly cancel by that time) and we even mowed the lawn ourselves. When leaving, we asked if a later checkout was okay and were told "no problem" - after we left they said it was an extra $100.

This house fit all of us perfectly, 2 families with room to spare. Our only negatives would be no microwave, toaster did not work well, and 1 TV for the whole house which we never got to work 😞. But if you are looking for a rustic place to stay with family or friends without a lot of amenities, I recommend this house 👍 ski resorts were within a half hour drive as were most places, FYI phones don't work most places in this area, however the WiFi at the house worked great! We brought board games and stuff to keep the kids busy and it worked well for our group. Hope this helps

Loved exploring all the wonderful art details and vintage charm of this home! It was a pleasant backdrop that several artsy families, all with young children (2yrs - 6yrs), felt safe and comfortable--plenty of space and privacy. Property was beautiful and centrally located for our needs (Buffalo -- Syracuse -- Hudson Valley -- and Providence RI travelers). Thankful that there were four primary bedrooms with private baths each. Would highly recommend and stay again. Thank you!!

Came up from the city with my film crew to shoot a short film and stay on this lively property. It was the most beautiful setting for our project and an escape to nature. Host was kind and incredibly helpful. I would absolutely stay here again whether it was for an event or just to take a moment away surrounded by trees and mountains.
Thank you!

This property was exactly as described in the listing. The property manager Michael is very responsive to any attempt at communication. There was a small issue with one of the showers at the location and within 30 minutes of contacting him, he had it addressed. Very quiet area but close to the nearest town. (Only a 15 minute car ride) Natural drinkable spring water. Plenty of space for 16 adults. Grounds were well kept. I would recommend this location,

Our family thoroughly enjoyed gathering at this truly unique property. The carriage house provided comfortable & artsy space for family connections and enough nooks and property space for folks to find their own space when desired. The early July weather was perfect, with nighttime temperatures in the 50s and day temperatures in the mid 70s. Night sky is dark and great for astronomy and astrophotographers. We also enjoyed an evening bonfire 🔥 in the back yard.

We loved celebrating my mother’s 80th birthday at such a special place. There were 16 of us and each family had their own room & bathroom, which was perfect! The grounds are beautiful, the house is fully stocked and the barn was like a fairy tale when we set it up for her birthday dinner. Highly recommend without reservation!

Our family group of 16 stayed here for a wedding in the area. It was a beautiful location with a rustic place to stay that allowed us to have fellowship and spend time together. Michael was very easy to work with and we enjoyed hearing about the origin of the carriage house. Sixteen of us were there very comfortably. Only thing to note is that there is no microwave but you can adapt with the other amenities offered. If we ever return to the area from Kansas again, we will stay here!

What a lovely and spiritual weekend! We adored this charming property in Bloomville. Our party of 11 explored nearby trails, walked up the property, enjoyed the wood-stove, and experienced beautiful March snow. It was our first time booking through Vrbo, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. Mike was extremely available and the property had everything we needed. Will absolutely come again!

Great place for a big crew
We had 17 people stay together on the coldest weekend imaginable. The house had great space for all of us and we set up a projector and screen for movies in the sitting room. The kitchen was well stocked, though all of the kitchen plates and cookware was well loved (used a lot). We kept the wood burning arrive going and kept warm, even in -9 degrees.
We did have a few issues. There was a leak in a shower, the stove stopped working and a service guy had to come out and fix it, and worst off all the pipes froze so we were without water for most of a day. Michael was super responsive and worked to resolve these immediately.
All in all, I would highly recommend for a group of families. We had a blast.

This home is very unique. It has a great space downstairs for large gatherings and/or group stay. The bedrooms were also very large with individual bathrooms. The property is well taken care of and communicating with the owner was super easy.

The carriage house is very eclectic and rustic. Big rooms with beautiful wood floors allow you to be together as a family.
Large areas with lots of optional seating, for eating and hanging out. Full baths in every bedroom was an extra bonus. The location is very remote (which for us was fine we were there to just hang out) but just know closest store / restaurant is a 20 minute drive. The property is also very close to the main road so traffic driving by can be loud especially at night. However, the back of the property is very large and you can walk around and about which was nice.
I would highly recommend this property if you have a larger group that you want to spend time with but still have some privacy with the large bedrooms with baths.

We had a ton of fun here! The land surrounding the property is breathtaking. We visited around the end of October and the leaves were gorgeous. Michael built a beautiful fire for us one night and the kids had a blast roasting marshmallows. He also had a Bocce set and my 7 year old loved learning to play by the pond. The house had a really cool, artsy vibe. The beds were super comfortable and the showers were nice and hot. There was plenty of space for me, my husband, our two children, and my mother. The kitchen had plenty of everything we needed to make family dinners and a big beautiful table at which to enjoy them. We had an absolutely lovely time there and made a ton of great memories to cherish.

Amazing Retreat for Friends and Family
This house was well designed for a large group, inside and out. We had several group dinners in the large dining room, plus bonfires in the evening. Each bedroom with its own bathroom made our stay extra comfortable. The outdoor scenery and mountain views were spectacular!

My husband and I hosted our wedding here and we arrived two days prior to set up. It was the absolute most beautiful place. Everything about it is gorgeous. The pictures do no justice. The sound of the running water and the views. It made for such a beautiful get away and place to host our wedding. We stayed in the carriage house and had our ceremony outside. We used the turquoise barn for our reception. It was truly my dream wedding come true. I can’t thank The host enough for such a beautiful weekend. He made sure everything looked beautiful. Even if you don’t come here to host an event. Definitely come just to stay for the views. It’s so breathtaking. The house is very unique and each bedroom having its own bathroom is a huge bonus. There’s even a main bathroom downstairs everyone can use. It’s beautiful. I can’t wait to see all the beautiful pictures our photographers took! Everyone was so nice and so accommodating to our needs and wants. Thank you so much! Truly beautiful!
