Welcome to Boxwood House a completely furnished vacation/corporate garden apartment located on the first floor of a gracious 1893 Victorian home with its own separate entrance. Boxwood House offers such amenities as a full kitchen, with all electric appliances, including a dishwasher, full size refrigerator, china, silverware, and glassware. The Bedroom has a queen size bed dressed in Italian linens for a comfortable nights sleep. Plenty of closet space, a dresser, and a writing desk with wireless service for your laptop. The bathroom shower features a Speakman shower head. There are plenty of thick white towels. The Living/Dining Room is very comfortable with a sofa that makes into a double bed. The antique dining table and chairs seat four. AM/FM radio with CD player and cable LCD TV with VCR that gets up to 88 channels. There is a back garden available during nice weather to sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine. Conveniently located on the island of Alameda, in San Francisco Bay. Boxwood House is situated in the historic Gold Coast a few blocks from parks, beaches with beautiful views of San Francisco, windsurfing, tennis, sailing, bike riding, coffee houses, and restaurants. Direct transportation to San Francisco is accessible both by bus and ferry located a few blocks away. This was a delightful place to stay in Alameda. It is comfortable, charming and fully equipped. It is within walking distance of parks and shops, and it's an easy drive from Oakland. The host is attentive and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

A lovely little apartment in the heart of Alameda. Quiet and clean, we met Marti and had a wonderful weekend. Thank you. We highly recommend this property for two people.

The property was super cute, decorated in antique/vintage/asian decor. Bright and sunny during day. Quiet neighborhood. Beware of lower ceilings. TV operation a little funky to begin with but seemed to clear up. Would have been nice to know where washer/dryer were located since they are not in unit and couldn’t get a hold of host. Ended up at laundromat. Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

It was a nice place… Very cozy. We were fortunate enough to run into Marti that owns the place. Very very nice lady and made us feel extremely welcome. Definitely a thumbs up.

Charming, cozy Victorian basement apartment - my only suggestion is additional shower storage - I have a lot of shower gear, so we had to McGyver it! Loved the convenient parking - not sure how you manage it, Marti, but there was always a space right out front - this is critical in this area.

This was a lovely stay in a beautiful neighborhood of Alameda. The apartment was easy to access, clean and cozy. It felt like a mini vacation getaway even though I was there for work. And Marti was a lovely host.

The apartment was cute and cozy, it was located in a very cute neighborhood that was close to grocery stores etc. would highly recommend staying here. Marti was very nice and accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay in Alameda at the box wood vrbo. Our hostess was very accommodating and friendly. The apartment was clean and worked well for our needs. We plan to stay again.

We needed a place to stay close to our friends. The location was perfect in a quiet neighborhood with on-street parking not a problem. The place is full of antiques. The bed was comfortable. The shower a little small, but excellent water pressure. There's a full kitchen with probably all the cooking items you would need. We would stay there again.

Comfortable bed, comfortable living area, full kitchen with all the necessaries, very nice, new-looking step-in shower, beautiful garden to enjoy reading, and great neighborhood. Everything you could want is within a mile, yet it is a short drive to Oakland and San Francisco. Perfect place to stay to be close to our Alameda family. Thank you, Marti. It was wonderful to meet you. We expect to return.

Pretty little apartment
The location was great for traveling to different sights. The street/neighborhood was quite pretty. The apartment is furnished with antiques so it is not child friendly but it’s well outfitted for two adults. The bed was comfortable.

Great location, Apartment is small for more than 1 person. The owner lives upstairs and is very available to her guests. Parking on the street was always available. Interesting art and furniture. The bed is very comfortable. I would stay there again.
