Well appointed, well equipped, well thought out, clean, comfortable. Close to Mendocino and beautiful parks including Jug Handle and Russian Gulch and convenient to Fort Bragg.

I would never stay here again. The place needs deep cleaning and fumigating. It looked like it was cleaned on surface only, but didn’t take long to find out it was dirty. They only cleaned what you could see, but don’t look beyond that. Flys and spiders, both dead and alive. Dirty wet coffee pots. Pots and pans dirty and Teflon chipped. No screens on windows, no welcome booklet on how anything worked. Patio furniture rusty and dirty. They should be ashamed to rent out a place like this, and to charge for cleaning fees.
The only redeeming quality of the property is it was quite and the area was nice to visit.

I completely enjoyed staying at this property. It’s off the beaten path with lots of privacy. The facilities are clean, beautifully decorated and welcoming. Close to Caspar Beach, Russian Gulch State Park AND Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse. This will be my “go to” rental in the future! The only thing missing for me was a coffee pot, this would have made it perfect. Maybe something to add in the future? Saw deer roaming everywhere ands other wildlife while enjoying the patio area. Can’t wait to return!

We found Caspar Daydream to have many features we appreciate in a rental. It was spacious, clean and well-equipped, as well as quiet and fairly private. The distant ocean view was lovely and the open space attracted deer and squirrels. The nearby houses and odd placement of the cottage by the storage barn did not detract from its charm.
The wifi was strong and although we did not have cell service we could make wifi calls. Vacasa was very helpful and responsive.
My only suggestion would be to add some window screens to keep the occasional fly out as you let in the ocean breeze. Would stay again!

AFTER booking (and non-refundable I might add) Vacasa said all you may need to do is reset the internet router as it could be spotty, but it never really worked. There was never more than 1 or 2 bars--EVER and it would not hook up and connect. It kept saying no IP address available which you get when too many people are hooked up to the internet. It was just 2 of us with our phones, and only 1 could get on at a time--and even then we kept getting booted. So much for getting a little work done while on our getaway. So if you want to unplug completely, a great little place for 2 people with nice kitchen and grill, but if you want anything to connect, you will need to go elsewhere.

Imagine the waste of water with signs in the bathroom and kitchen asking guests to conserve water.
2.)The shower faucet extension overhead had a leak in the joint which spurted out water during a shower - another waste of water and bad for the ceiling and wall.
3.) bathroom sink was clogged so drained very slowly. A non-caustic drain cleaner would have easily done the job.
These problems had obviously been developing for some time and were not being taken care of by a watchful owner. An earlier review on VRBO mentioned the same toilet problem and Vacasa replied that it had been fixed. The fix if it occurred obviously didn't work. We keenly felt the absence of an owner's watchful eye. We've rented many times through VRBO with a direct owner relationship and never once had a problem. We booked with VRBO and didn't see the small print mentioning Vacasa. I called Vacasa to report the plumbing problems.The operator said she'd tell the owner we were having plumbing problems.I said "don't you even want to know the details?" She hesitated and then said " okay, what are they?" It was not encouraging that Vacasa customer care wasn't particularly concerned about passing details on to the owner.
We'll try to book directly with VRBO next time.

It was well supplied with linens, blankets and kitchen items but only had one roll of toilet paper for a 4 day stay. Had plumbing issues that would have been nice to report and get repaired. The leaking tank of the toilet triggered a noisy pump every 15 minutes all day and night.

My partner and I stayed at the Caspar Daydream for our anniversary and it was just perfect! We weren’t at the property much, but when we were it was cozy and quiet. The only thing I would note is that it is extremely barebones - bring everything you will need for the kitchen/bathroom.

Super sweet, however, we picked it because we saw the hot tub in the photos. It actually wasn't accessible, so we felt misled.

If you need something intimate, clean and well laid out this is the home for you! Easy entry in and out. House was PERFECT, yard was perfect! Accessibility to light house was a easy 3 min bike ride. Few miles to Noyo and to Mendocino. Perfect for two get away!!

Caspar Daydream
This studio cottage was comfortable, with a long distance view of the ocean. Location was great. The listing showed a hot tub which is not included in your stay and the TV was challenging and educational learning how to use the system without instructions. It is not cable or satellite but a combination of streaming and Roku TV. At the ocean TV is really not necessary! Very clean and user friendly other than the TV. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Mendocino B-Trip
Everything was fantastic with the property and the location is perfect for those that want to walk to the beach and parks. It would have been nice if the gas stove was functional, and the hot tub not locked, but beyond that everything was wonderful, quiet, and cozy.
