South Beach Cozy Cottage - Waterfront Perfection
About this house rental
Located in Bainbridge Island, this attractive house for R 10,164 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Come and enjoy our Waterfront Beach Cottage. The Cottage is located on Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound. It has stunning southern views of the Sound, Mt. Rainier, and Washington State Ferries. The Seattle skyline and lights are viewable from the bulkhead and fire pit. It is a fabulous place for a stress-relieving break or more active pursuits. One of the things we enjoy most about our cozy cottage is watching local wildlife. Bald Eagles are easily seen from the home and deck. Seals, sea lions, cranes and other critters pass by daily. Orcas played off our beach from time to time. What a treat! At low tide, throw on your water shoes and head to the beach to visit tidal pools brimming with colorful starfish and sea anemones. It’s great for anyone with a curious mind and young at heart. The Cottage is situated along a popular and busy maritime route with Mt. Rainier as a backdrop. The water is studded with ferries, naval ships (including aircraft carriers and submarines), ocean-going ships, sail boats, yachts, kayaks and even paddleboards. If you like, you can use our 4 kayaks to explore for yourself! Another option is to use our four (4) hybrid/mountain bikes to ride along the largely flat South Beach Drive into Ft Ward Park and then on to Lynwood Center (Pleasant Beach). Enjoy the art house theatre, bakery, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, ice cream, small grocery and a Sunday farmers' market. Or visit Winslow, where the Seattle ferry lands and also the Island's primary shopping district. Winslow is 6 miles from the Cottage. You'll find everything you need including groceries, retail therapy, parks, walking trails along Eagle Harbor, movies and many excellent restaurants and pubs/winery tasting rooms. If you want to play golf there are several in the vicinity. If gambling is your fun, a casino located just off the north end of the Island. For cycling enthusiasts, Bainbridge Island is a well known bike riding destination. The Island is blessed with trails and walks close to the Cottage, but also throughout the Island. The Island is home to several award winning wineries and a distillery. The grapes come highly regarded Eastern Washington vineyards. The tasting rooms are eclectic, friendly, fun & scattered through Winslow and around the island. Or, if you are just looking to get a break from it all, you most certainly can find relaxation and a retreat in our cottage all by itself. No need to leave. All rooms have water views. The cottage features a beautiful and extremely well-equipped Kitchen. The very comfortable Living and Dining rooms provide captivating views of the comings and goings on the water and the lights from West Seattle. In the evening, the illuminated ferries will remind you of Christmas ornaments. The Cottage sleeps six (6): The 2 Bedrooms have queen beds, flat screen TVs, and hummingbird feeders that attract birds from dawn until sunset – year round. The back bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. The front bedroom is across the hall from the bathroom. The "Middle Room" has a queen size sofa bed. Firm, comfortable, no back breaking bars to disrupt your slumber. This room also is a “walk thru” room to the 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. So it’s private until someone walks thru. Both Bathrooms have skylights to gaze at the sky & tree boughs above. The Master Bath has a low curb, walk-in shower with a small seat. The Main Bath has a claw foot tub where you can relax. The Deck enjoys sun during the morning and early afternoon and then shade in the afternoons. Relax on the outdoor furniture, have a sun-filled breakfast or lunch and watch the eagles soar past. Continue down the steps towards the water for areas where you can sit and enjoy views of Seattle skyline, relax in a two person hammock, enjoy the fire pit, paddle kayaks, or hop down to the beach to explore tide pools and collect shells and rocks at low tide.

Wonderful stay. Cannot say enough about the attention the property manager allotted. She was very attentive to ensure we had a great stay. It’s all about the view with this property. It was pretty cold during g our stay but we were content with relaxing and taking just in the view. Incredible!

The cottage was roomy and had lovely decor. It was such a great space with plenty of rooms and amenities. The property was well kept and the view was spectacular. Right on the water with a wonderful view of Mt. Rainier and Seattle. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

The property is a perfect location for relaxing and unwinding. The views from the living room and deck are spectacular. Deb was the best host ever, highly engaged and provided us with a great amount of information regarding things to do as well as recommended places to eat. This is a place we would come back to for sure. Highly recommend this property!

It was our first time on Bainbridge Island, and I can't imagine a better place to do it. The cottage is comfortable, well-equipped and ideally located. It's surrounded by woods and water, with a killer view of Puget Sound and Mt Rainier (when the weather cooperates.)
When I say 'well-equipped', I've never been in a VRBO provisioned as well as this one. Waiting for us was wine, Prosecco, cheese, salami, Biscoff cookies, and more. One could survive a day or two just on the snacks there.
Deb, our host, was always just a text away, checking in and answering questions, whether about the house or the Seattle ferry.
If you're going to Bainbridge Island, this cottage should be on your short-list.

The home was beautiful with wonderful views of Seattle and Mt Rainer on a clear day. The house is on the south end of the island so if you do not have a car Uber service is scarce.
The Host, Deb was the best that we have ever had. Her communications were fantastic so much so that she almost acted as our travel guide, recommending restaurants sites etc.

Perfect start to our girls trip to Washington- the house was warm and cozy with absolutely stunning water view. We had beautiful weather and spotted wildlife from fox to seals. Took morning walks along the sound with a view of lovely waterfront houses and dramatic landscape. The town of Bainbridge also fabulous. Our host was gracious and accommodating, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! Are definitely planning a repeat trip!

It was a delightful stay at the cottage. We enjoyed the deck, including beautiful views when the mountain was out and the sound of sea lions splashing below (literally—it was idyllic). Deb was very communicative and endeavored to ensure we had a lovely stay. The kitchen was well appointed, the rooms and spaces comfortable, and the welcome treats (charcuterie, wine) much appreciated. Overall a wonderful experience and we’d gladly stay again.

We had a great time at the cozy cottage! Paddle boarding, kayaking, riding bikes to Lynwood center, etc. We really enjoyed Earth and Vine wine bar, Miguelito's Grill & Cantina, Eleven winery, and the best of all was dinner at the Heyday Farm House! The views from the cottage are spectacular, too. We look forward to returning next summer.

Loved our stay!! The house is even better in person. Very comfortable! Tide pools were full of starfish in the mornings and seals gave us a show most evenings. Plenty to do on Bainbridge, but the house is so nice.. you might want to stay put.

Private home with expansive deck overlooking Puget Sound and view of Mt. Rainier.
Surrounded by large redwoods providing shade and protection of wind. Only 15 min from Bainbridge town center. Lots of hiking options, kayaking.

It was my 4th time to stay here, my friend’s first. The views are amazing, the accommodations are everything you would want or need to enjoy a home away from home. Can’t wait to return.

We celebrated a special family occasion and were so grateful to have everything we could have ever needed there. It is a quiet, secluded street and yet so close to downtown and local trails and parks!

AWESOME PLACE, great hosts. They thought of all the details - the great wine when we arrived. the coffee for the morning, the bikes, the helpfulness of the hosts, the firepit on the shoreline. We recommend this cottage highly and will return.

The house is lovely. All the little touches make it truly special, not to mention the stunning views. Our host was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we could've needed. We really hope to stay here again in the future!

I seldom write reviews, but I feel the experience justified one this time. First, the hostess is amazingly communicative and helpful. She made you feel like you were staying at a friend's house. Second, the house is well appointed with amenities. Third, and certainly not least, the view is incredible. The view of the sound and Mt. Rainer is fantastic from the house and the large deck. You can also see the Seattle skyline from the lower portion of the propety. We also really appreciated the use of kayaks and even saw some seals while there.

Deb was very nice and attentive. The attention to detail was so nice. 2 bottles of wine/Prosecco. We were able to kayak in the bay and it was beautiful. Only thing I would change was to stay a little closer to the downtown area. But overall very satisfied

Both Deb and the cottage could not be more lovely. Our suggestion- bring provisions (Heyday Farms Farmstand, Town & Country Market) because you won’t want to leave! Already looking forward to our next ( hopefully soon! ) visit!

Our family enjoyed our stay at this waterfront property. It was well stocked with everything one needs for a week’s stay. The owners thought of everything! Very thoughtful touch with starter items for breakfast, coffee, wine (!) and s’mores fixings. The owners were very responsive to our requests and questions. The view was fantastic! Thank you 🙏

Beautiful and private location on the South side of Bainbridge Island. This feels remote but is not far from anything. Wonderful, zen-like water views (Rainer never showed itself during our mostly cloudy stay). We kayaked amongst seals, sea lions and even an otter. Deb is a great communicator, left us wonderful welcome provisions, and the house had everything you might need. Would definitely stay again!

Our family of 5 (3 adult children) spent Thanksgiving at this amazing property. Everything about it was fantastic. Beautiful views of Mt. Rainier and Seattle from the property. From the deck, we watched seals, bald eagles, humming birds, etc. We loved the charming downtown with great shops and restaurants and took beautiful walks to Fort Ward. We drove around the Island and this, by far, was the best location. Just amazing!

A well needed getaway from the city. Deb made our stay absolutely perfect. Such a stunning location- saw bald eagles, seals & orcas with Rainier in the background. Cozy fireplace, easy access to beach & kayaks, food & drinks upon arrival, superb bedding and amazing communication made this stay top of our list. We will definitely return!

What a fabulous way to celebrate my birthday! Deb, Stef, and Ellie were incredibly helpful from the minute I booked the property until the day we said our goodbyes. The house is well cared for and a bit whimsical, with amazing views and comfortable furnishings. We weren't able to enjoy the fire pit or kayaks due to rain, but took lots of walks and enjoyed downtown Winslow. Thanks for a great weekend away!

Two couples enjoyed time at this cozy cottage, watching the water, boats, and sea lions from the great view from inside and outside of cottage. Kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens of any VRBO we have rented. Lovely treats and wine were left for us to enjoy, along with, coffee, english muffins, eggs, and cheese. Very nice experience..

Our first time in Bainbridge to attend a family wedding in IslandWood. We were able to enjoy the wedding, the house, and took day trips from the great location.
Hosts Rico and Deb were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Definitely would return.

Perfect, tranquil, charming, unbeatable views. We were two couples and the 2BR/2BA set up was ideal. We used the provided bikes to explore the (flat parts!) of the island every day. Had friends over for sunset and moonrise on the large deck. Used both the waterfront fire pit and the one on the deck. Alas, we did not use the 4 provided kayaks, but we will next year! Deb's team was welcoming, conscientious, efficient. I cannot say enough positive things about the cottage.

We could not get enough of the view! Downtown Seattle to the left, Mt Rainier directly in front, and Blake/Vashon Island to the right.
We saw seals, deer, heron and amusing squirrels.
The house was well stocked and the hosts are lovely. The house is old and full of charm. I bet it has had a rich history which felt extra special to be a part of. Thank you!

My husband and I, along with our son and his gf, stayed in the South Beach Cozy Cottage for three nights at the beginning of August and we all wished we could have stayed longer. The house itself was beautifully decorated, very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies including food for our first breakfast and 2 bottles of wine. Deb had given us very detailed information about getting in, car rental, food shopping and restaurants which was very helpful. Last but not least, the location of the house was fantastic. We loved looking out on the water and seeing Mt Rainier in the distance, viewing wild animals such as an otter swimming by with her baby and being able to walk along the bay to Fort Ward Park. Thank you, Deb, for sharing your property.

We had a magical time at this property. It is well equipped and very comfortable. Bedding and linens are top notch. Welcome gifts are so thoughtful.
Spent most of the time on the deck enjoying the incredible views.
Definitely would stay again… and again.

The Perfect Getaway
If you are looking for the perfect getaway, this South Beach Cottage is the place to stay. The best view of Mt. Rainier, morning eagle sightings, leisurely walks to Pleasant Beach Village are just a few things to enjoy. Deb is the perfect host providing a few items to enjoy on your arrival and willing to answer any questions that you might have. This was our second visit, and are already discussing about a future return.

We stayed for almost a week and Deb was a great host, the house is right on the water and it was relaxing to wake up to the view every morning. The side shed has bikes and we had a great bike ride around the neighborhood. We rode up to the Lynwood Market past Fort Ward and had a great breakfast & coffee but they had a cool wine shop as well, Earth and Vine Wine Bar. There is plenty of open space in the house to relax and it’s a short drive into town for groceries. The neighbors are quiet and the extra effort from Deb to call me and discuss our family vacation plans was extremely helpful! We cannot wait to come back next year and kids talk about going back constantly,.

Wonderful stay at an Amazing Location
Loved this rental! The house is so cozy, interesting and really well equipped and set up. All details have been thought through. And the staples in the fridge plus wine and other goodies waiting for you is a real bonus. Kudos to the owner Deb! And the location…fantastic! We did not have the best weather during our stay, but still loved it. You will want to take advantage of the kayaks in the morning when the waters are calm for the amazing view of the city. Bikes were fun to ride through Fort Ward Park and to the Lynwood Center for lunch. A drive up to the Bloedel Reserve is a must. And a farm to table dinner at Heyday Farm is a culinary and garden highlight. Would definitely come back!
