The main floor boasts a large open concept area that flows seamlessly from the kitchen to dining to the living room. A light, modern palette and new furniture join the traditional comforts of a classic mountain lodging. You'll also enjoy a lovely view of the namesake pond. The location is second to none - during ski season walk to the ski lodge, and in Summer and Fall stroll out to the tennis courts. Everything Sugar Mountain has to offer is right outside your door when you choose to vacation at Snowlake. What's nearby: Sugar Mountain Resort is just moments away from this condo, where you'll find an outdoor skating rink, snow tubing, mountain bike tours, and a full golf course. There are plenty of restaurants close by, including The Pedalin’ Pig and Elevations Restaurant. The unit is close to the first hole of the golf course, that was nice. We did not like the the sliding doors- they were so fogged up (between the glass) a person could not see the pond behind the unit. they need to be changed.

I have stayed in this unit 2 times now and it was never nice but it's worse now. There are too many broken things to list on here. Between the dirtiness and the mold in the showers the place is just horrible.

Great location, great stay
Property is the perfect location to ski Sugar Mountain and enjoy Banner Elk. Condo was clean, spacious and perfect for our group.

This condo needs a major facelift and maintenance.
Condo was not cleaned properly. There was what looked like cat feces on the window ledge inside the room and in master closet.
The window shades would not close all the way and several rooms had missing shade pieces that were broken off so we had to hang towels to fill the gaps.
Mattress in one master is a sunken in foam like mattress. Shower curtain liners filthy.
The location is perfect however and convenient to everything and the space accommodated our family of 10 well. I just wish the owners would take more pride in their property. We will try to rent another unit next time.

We stayed at the condo for a week this fall and found the accommodations suited our needs. The beds were comfortable and everything was functional. The condo had all the necessary amenities you would expect (bedding, towels, bathroom supplies, and kitchen utensils/dishes). Wifi worked well throughout the condo. Balconies were a very nice place to start or end the day. My family of 6 (Mom, Dad, and 4 kids) brought my mother in law along and everyone had their own space as the condo was plenty large enough. Vacasa made the process of checking in/out very easy with good communication.
Directions to the condo were easy to understand and follow.
There were only two things that I would say could be viewed as negatives for some potential visitors. If you have issues using stairs regularly this would not be an ideal place to stay as the accommodations span three floors, but for most people it would not be an issue. The other thing was that the condo could really use a refresh to the interior. Fresh coat of paint and some small dressers in the downstairs bedrooms would be a nice touch. Overall though I would recommend this place for anyone staying in the Sugar Mountain area. The area was pretty quiet and we were not disturbed by any outside noise even though the Octoberfest event was going on over the weekend we had visited. Thanks for the hospitality Vacasa. See you next time!

I liked the house and the neighborhood. Probably it was not enought instructions to the some apliances functions for example instruction about the air condition works

We met our friends family here for my 50th birthday, there were 10 total people. There was enough beds and bathrooms for us. Each bedroom had a bathroom attached, which was nice. It had some areas that needed some touch up maintenance but understandable with being rented.
Our main issues were not the home. It was the cleaning/management of home. When our friends arrived, they had to wait because it wasn’t cleaned correctly. We appreciated that. Once inside, it was not well stocked. We ended up buying toilet paper and dishwasher tabs. We were left 1 extra trash bag (10 people for 3 days), 2 dishwasher tabs, 1 roll of paper towels, and only one or two spare rolls of toilet paper. One bathroom only had an open roll on the holder. We left what we bought. We ended up having to stuff trash in grocery bags because we were out of bags. I understand having to go to the grocery store for food but shouldn’t have to for basic necessities. It said we could call if we needed anything but we didn’t since we were going for food. Dishes were all over the place, not necessarily grouped with like items so kitchen space felt disorganized.
We aren’t high maintenance in any way but it seemed like we were being given very little of what I would consider the basics. Check out was easy but there was not a list on refrigerator as was stated in book so I had to request it be emailed to me. Checkout was at 10am and we were out before 9am but the checkout text was sent at 10:59am. We had a 7 hour drive and I didn’t see it until we were home.

Place is ok.. but there is no AC , it is suffocating on basement and no air circulation.

They property was very nice and as advertised. We contacted the property manager shortly after check-in. We had a question about the wi-fi... They called immediately, I didn't expect to hear from them till the next day. We toured Lees McRae in Banner Elk for my Son and visited our Daughter at Appalachian State. We will definitely stay here again.

They property was very nice and as advertised. We contacted the property manager shortly after check-in. We had a question about the wi-fi... They called immediately, I didn't expect to hear from them till the next day. We toured Lees McRae in Banner Elk for my Son and visited our Daughter at Appalachian State. We will definitely stay here again.

You can walk to the resort, tubing, and ice skating. Big enough for 4 adults and 4 kids. It felt clean and well-stocked. Location and cleanliness would make me stay again.

This isn’t a complaint, just an “FYI”- the key lockbox outside doesn’t actually work. You can put any number and it still opens. The only real complaint is the hot water ran out quickly. I only had 5 people total, in a place for 10, and the hot water struggled. Please don’t receive these as complaints, more like observations. Loved the place. Had a great time. I will be back

Also there was only 2 burners working. With COVID restrictions on restaurants we were planning on cooking a lot & we were unable to. Mgt did say the burners were ordered but we did not see them in our 10 day stay. 😩
