About this chalet rental
Situated in White County, this lovely chalet for R 3,655 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Chalet located directly on the Chestatee River. Located within 6 miles of downtown Dahlonega and 18 miles from Helen Georgia, which offer various dining and entertaining options. Within a few miles of local wineries, vineyards, breweries and wedding venues. Nearby activities include hiking, water sports, fishing, horseback riding, golf, mountain biking, gold prospecting, local zoos, Vogel State Park, Blood Mountain and much more. Exterior security cameras for your safety. The property will be professionally decorated for the holidays from December 1st through mid January. This is not an event facility. Use of property for weddings, showers, receptions, parties or any event consisting of additional guests is strictly prohibited. No more than 6 adults and 4 children permitted, strictly enforced. Unless late chevk out is approved, there will be a $20 charge for every 15 minutes past the check out time. Parking pad accommodates 4 vehicles, no additional vehicles allowed and no parking on the grass. The driveway is actually a road. It cannot be blocked. During your stay some vehicles may drive through as well as minimal pedestrian traffic. Gps sometimes takes you on a detour especially when using Waze. When you turn on Lewis Grindle, the road will turn into a bumpy gravel road. You will continue straight until you see our sign and a concrete driveway on the right. Gps sometimes tries to have you turn on Lunceford Circle before our driveway, this is incorrect and will send you to other side of our property. Lumpkin County allows shooting of firearms during daytime and night time hours. From time to time shooting can be heard from our property. Shooting firearms for any use other than self defense is prohibited at our property. Lewis Grindle is the road that leads to our property. It is a private road and usually in disrepair. We try our hardest to keep it smooth, but it is a rough ride. 3 other vacation rentals, delivery trucks, mail service and residents use the road daily without any issues. We had the best time at this adorable property. It was perfect for our girl trip weekend. It’s open and airy, nice sized bedrooms, peaceful scenery, beautifully decorated, and very clean. We loved being right on the river and would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay! The home is very clean and just a short drive to Dahlonega which is so festive this time of year. It is a beautiful home and very private. The hot tub was great. The homeowner was quick to answer any questions we had. We will definitely consider staying there again when in Dahlonega.

The house was beautiful, very clean and came with all the amenities of home! Our kids loved canoeing on the river, swinging on the rope swing and s’mores at the fire pit. We enjoyed wine on the deck overlooking the river and nights in the jacuzzi. Wonderful way to get away from the stresses of life and our host was incredible. We were able to check in early as well as check out late without any hassle and we received a response minutes after every question! I can’t say enough great things about the property and host!

The cabin was just as described, it was very clean and cozy! We took a last minute family getaway before the school year starts and made some great memories! I couldn’t have gotten the kids away from the river if I wanted to and getting them away from electronics these days is no easy feat. The owners reached out with some additional info about the property that really made our short stay memorable, I would recommend this location to anyone!

A lovely house off the beaten path near Dahlonega on the bank of the Chestatee river.
Everything was clean, up to date, and functional. Very private. The internet and phone service can be spotty at times but this was only an occasional minor occurrence.
Overall, I definitely recommend this property and plan to stay there again.

Anytime I needed to reach out to Lisa she responded quickly!! She made sure our stay was the best! We have family in Jasper and I ask Lisa before they came, if they could come over for a visit and she said absolutely!! Most places will not allow because it puts you over your capacity but there was plenty of room outside for the kids to fish and play. We grill and enjoy our family time !! The house was absolutely beautiful! Sitting on the porch early in the morning drinking coffee watching the beavers go up and down the river couldn’t get any better than that!! Thank you Lisa for making our stay awesome!! PS:while the kids fished they saw a black bear cross the river….it made their day!!

The host was a great communicator, unfortunately, however, the home is poorly mainly maintained, dirty, and highly uncomfortable. No amenities whatsoever other than the river view. Bring a chair for relaxing because other than 2, old and dirty sofas with zero cushion support, there is NO PLACE inside to get comfortable. The fabric on the sofas is dirty. We used our own sheets to cover them. The refrigerator and freezer were filthy inside. This included plenty of someone's hair. The bathroom was no better. The floors have not been thoroughly cleaned in this home in my guess would be weeks. The king bed downstairs is very comfortable and was our only saving grace. The porch is large with a beautiful view, but cluttered and dirty. The cleaning and maintenance deficiencies are many, and enough to comfortably say NEVER AGAIN.

My family enjoyed the peace and tranquility on the waterfront. Sometimes we’re used to the modern lifestyle of watching television in almost every room of our primary homes that it’s easy to lose focus on the importance of downtime. The stay was very pleasant.

I traveled with my family, 2 adults and 4 kids. We had plenty of room for sleeping! The property is very private and was clean when we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and dishes. Also, loved that we could all sit together to eat at the large dining room table.

We rented this house for a surprise 50th anniversary for my parents. The owner was very responsive and the location was very close to the wineries. The house was very clean and looks exactly like the photos. We rented a wine van from DSH transportation and they knew exactly where the house was and picked us all up on time. Overall I would highly recommend this house!

Cons:
Horrible issue with hornets on the deck. Kitchen oven needs a good cleaning, it smoked every time we turned it on. A lot of the pots and pans are old and chipping/ too dirty to use. The trundle bed sheets weren’t cleaned before we arrived. Not enough parking, we had 7 people stay with 5 cars. We had the unfortunate run in with the neighbor who is a piece of work, to say it in a nice way. Just beware.

We enjoyed the cleanliness, decor and fully stocked dishes/pans etc....AND the BEDS were so comfy, the TOWELS were plush. We caught a few fish in the river, but not a ton of bites. With Dahlonega, Helen and so many waterfalls within a short distance...we never ran out of things to do!

This property is great. We were all so pleased with the location. Secluded, quiet. So peaceful. The guys loved the fishing. The only recommendation we have is maybe have a charcoal grill on the deck. Currently the only grill is a picnic grill. We grilled steaks and this worked fine but it had been raining. If the rain had not stopped we would not have been able to grill.

Beautiful river property!
Such a beautiful home! It is very well appointed and well stocked. Lots of extras included! Plenty of towels for our party of 7, laundry detergent, trash bags, dish soap, paper towels, kitchen items, even coffee, sugar, and creamer. The beds were quite comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice. It was better than expected. The bunk beds are in the loft which means early risers could wake sleeping kids but it wasn’t a problem at all for us. The house was easy to access - two main floor beds and a large main floor bath. Easy walk from the parking area to haul things into and out of the home. And make sure you visit the shoals at the end of Lewis Grindle! They will take your breath away!
