We stayed at this quirky, cozy home in January 2024, visiting grandma who lives in town, and it was wonderful to have enough space to bring family together from three states. The young folks had space to get away from the noise when they needed to do homework, and they competed quite a bit at foosball. We all enjoyed the amazing views of the water from the dining room. It’s different every few minutes, and quite spectacular.

The backyard was a big draw for me because one of my favorite things to do is to relax with a view. Every morning we drank coffee with a view of the sunrise and serene lake. In the evening we had a campfire in the same spot.
The house is spacious and comfortable. My boys really appreciated that there was a basketball goal in the driveway!
The host was helpful and kind.
We also found some good restaurants and caught a Pistons game!

We came into to town for a 5 day stay 2 day bass tournament 3 day practice. Driveway was tight but managed to get three 21 foot bass boats and trucks in without unhooking anything. Lake view was nice and the sounds of the waves crashing shore put you right to sleep. House has everything you need and more with a nice sunroom with lake view along with the kitchen's large table facing the lake for morning coffee while watching the sunrise. Roxy was a great host being there at a moments notice. Weather on the other hand for us was nothing but crap LOL but that's the great lakes for you. Great fishery and great place to stay.

We had an absolutely delightful time. Roxanne was super helpful and accommodating. We had a full house but still had plenty of space to spread out. Lots of rooms to chill out and relax in. We loved the beach and backyard area. The area is calm and quiet. There are lots of amenities like foosball and kayaks. It's the perfect vacation for a big family that wants to relax by the beach.

My family and I enjoyed our weekend at this property. We spent much of our time on the beach and in the backyard hanging out on the patio, seawall, and around the fire pit. The view over the lake was great. The property owner was very nice and easy to work with.

We completed a stay the week of the Fourth of July. The location is great. Close to grocery stores and good restaurants.
The house was fully stocked inside and out and made for a relaxing week. Others mentioned the uneven transitions between a few room. Our son is wheelchair bound and he had no difficulty at all maneuvering in the house nor outside. Honestly it wasn't noticed by our family. He was able to access the beach with help and enjoy the water. There was plenty of seating and we spent most of our time outside.
The beach area was very useable. Sand was as soft as we experienced on the Gulf Coast in FL. Water Temp was comfortable and we could stand in the water 70+ feet from the water's edge.
Communication with the owner was awesome and we had no issues during our stay.
We recommend this location without any reservations and will be back.

The time of year we stayed is when the Mayflies come out and they are everywhere. The house was smaller than described. Some of the bedrooms so small could not get into beds from both sides. There were no actual closets in the rooms to hang clothes. There was not enough towels for the 9 of us and no extra blankets. There was no paper towels and lint was left on top of the dryer. The owner did respond to our needs. The owner was informed about the description on VRBO was not accurate.

Just there for the weekend. We were all woken up to a party in the middle of the night. Loud music and talking. Went on until dawn. There were 1-4 inch transition steps to every room. 5 of the people were over 60 so we had to be very careful going from room to room. It could have been cleaner.

We had a great time for our fishing getaway at this location. Right on the lake, which made it nice for knowing the conditions at the time. Close to Sterling State Park and not far from LEMP. The parking was sufficient for two boats and trucks. Great communication with the owner. We plan on staying there again!

Located on a beautiful point this waterfront property also runs alongside a canal. Perfect for boating and comes with beautiful sunrise and sunset views! This place is spacious with four bedrooms (and a roll away. In case), large living room, and kitchen / dining area. Beds are very comfy. Kitchen well supplied. Highly recommended for families!

Everyone had a great time here. All the little things added up-the usb plug ins, the extra large refrigerator, all extra outdoor furniture, the comfortable beds, the large sand box and the fire pit. And of course the beautiful sandy beach and the weather was excellent. We certainly will be returning for another family vacation!! Roxanne was a pleasure to work with!! I and my adult children and spouses stayed for 4 days/3 nights. The house is in a great location, and has its own beach right on Lake Erie. Based on reading others' reviews relative to the floor not being consistently level throughout each story, it was a bit out of the ordinary but I can understand as it is an older house. Being as all of us are adults, it didn't bother us much.
There were a few things that did bother us, and I felt we should gives a heads-up to future travelers. The description of the amenities was not accurate. All of us like to play pool, and one of the reasons we chose this house was because it said it has a pool table and a ping pong table. It doesn't have either. It only has a foosball table. This was a big letdown!
There was mention of there being some spices in the kitchen, but it didn't have any. Not even salt and pepper. Be sure to bring some yourself!
The dishes were definitely 'aged'. I'm not the type to expect everything to be perfectly new, but several of the large plates have big chips out of them and are cracked. There is also only 1 bowl, and it's barely big enough for a bowl of cereal.
Other than that, it was a relaxing time sitting and watching the lake and all the boats passing by

We were thrilled with the accommodations. The location on the lake and hearing the waves roll in was so relaxing. It was the perfect way to celebrate my 63rd birthday! Roxanne was a perfect host. A most relaxing spot, with the sound of the waves and wonderful view of the lake! The two kayaks and the fire pit were an added bonus. The house was clean and comfortable, with good mattresses for great sleeping.The owner was very helpful and gracious! We enjoyed our stay!

Lake Erie 2022
Roxanne was absolutely fabulous to work with. She was very prompt on her replies, and wanted to make sure we were happy! We absolutely loved the lake view and outdoor patio table / umbrella, chairs, and fire ring. (Great View) The kitchen has a large patio door and large dining room table which was a great view during the rain. The kitchen was very accommodating to our group of 9, with plenty room to cook and serve food. The beds were very comfortable, and furnished with nice quality bedding. The home is located in a friendly neighborhood, which was nice. The channel behind the house was nice for fishing, and used daily.
Property parking was appreciated! (We had 5 vehicles)
We brought ski boats, and rented weekly docks at Brest Bay Marina, which was just a short drive from the house (5 minutes) It was fabulous!!! They even checked on our docked boats after a storm. The marina is secure, and we had zero issues during the week stay, and on most days, we left our boat uncovered with ski equipment :-)
Golf course, and plenty of things to do within 30 minutes of this home…
We would rent this house again!

Great location but not great house for young kids
The location of the house could not be beat. We loved the access to the water and the gorgeous view from the dining area.
I did not, however, notice that the rooms throughout the house were all on slightly different levels. It was not safe for my 8 month old to crawl around and my 2 yr old required special attention so he did not trip.
One of the bathrooms was in the laundry area which was kind of weird. There was also a severe bug problem with gnats and flies climbing in around the window AC unit. The owners were really responsive to correcting this. There’s also not a working faucet to wash off your feet from sand so we had to use buckets. All in all, there were minor inconveniences but we had a lot of fun at the beach.

The location is the best. good beach, great view. Shallow water for young ones to play and sand to dig. Close to fishing. A few things need to be clarified. its noted that the house is and older house with steps which is fine but it needs to be noted also that 2/3rds of the rooms are on a 2 to 3 inch different level meaning your constantly stepping up or down. Not the end of the world by no means. Also owner states how nice it is to open windows and let lake breeze in. I totally agree, the problem is half of the window screens are either missing or damaged. The house would be a truly nice stay with just a little TLC. And slightly better AC.

We played golf at several close courses to the area and went to the University of Michigan for a football game. Everything we needed was close by and accessible. The house was right on the beach and some of our party used the kayaks for a trip in the bay.

The house was perfect for our family, 6 adults and children (5,4, 2 1/2 and 2). There was plenty of room inside for all of us. The beds were very comfortable. Loved that there was a small yard for the kids to play in, and the water/beach was so close. Plenty of seating outside for us all and very relaxing. It was nice to have the sandbox to help entertain the the kids. We did use a beach tent to provide shade for the kids and it worked nicely. The beach was nice and close. Roxanne was kind enough to provide a rake for us. We used water shoes for entering the water, as there are stones a few feet in. But after that the water remained fairly shallow and was sandy. It was great, we had the best time!! Roxanne was terrific with reserving the house and with resolving a couple issues that we encountered on arrival. There is a little store about 1/2 mile away which was so handy.
Had we not already bought ice cream from the grocery store, it would have been fun to take the grandkids down there for ice cream bars! We also tried fishing in the canal a couple time...no luck for us, but we had fun. We have reserved houses for the last 3-4 yrs for our family "Christmas Present" vacation and this house, while it could use some updating, has by far been our favorite one. We are looking to maybe returning next year. Thanks for sharing your house, Roxanne!
