Beautiful accommodation very comfortable and spotless. Spacious rooms, light and breezy feel with breathtaking views of the water. Air conditioning was wonderful as we were there in the heat of summer. The marina is a special little place and quiet, apart from the hustle of a bigger town. So relaxing, to come back to, especially if you are doing a lot of sight seeing around the area.

The second bathroom wasn’t much of a bathroom. Being down by the water made getting around a litter harder but we figured out public transportation and did fine with it.

Much below Expectation!!

Apartment was clean

located on 1st floor and No lift...this is not mentioned on the description. It says 2 bathrooms but practically its 1 bathroom only. The 2nd one is more like dummy next to kitchen with no was basin also and very tiny. In the 1st bathroom also the shower was leaking. The owner met us and told us to even drop the garbage also at a particular place everyday (Seperate garbage Glass/ mixed/ organic) on particular days and you do not expect to do all that when on holiday. Daily cleaning @ €40 was very expensive. Also the location is not exactly Sorrento its away from main Sorrento. Also the 2nd room doesnt have any AC and we had a tough time sleeping bcoz of summer weather. We also had to manage the control of hot water as the owner told us if the Gas gets finished then to change the connection to another cylinder. Also there was a problem with electricity load as we were told to not switch on Oven and Gas and AC together else it will trip. Do you really expect that on your holiday. If this is the case it should be mentioned on the description. Over all not recommmended !!

Brilliant location. Great Host. Fabulous holiday!

Tonino, the host was brilliant, he was social without being intrusive and very helpful. The location is superb. The views from the balconies (there are two) are breathtaking. Marina di Cassano is a small quiet place with lovely restaurants, a small grocery shop, coffee shop and a great shop that sells wine, gifts and delicious things to eat. There is even a church a few steps away. The apartment was WOW! I cannot rate it highly enough, clean and with everything we needed. Beware if you can't do stairs as you'll need to climb some steep ones to get into the apartment (20+) but it's well worth it. If you arrive during the siesta period (between 1pm-4pm) then make sure you have basic provisions, there is tea and coffee provided. If you are not driving then you'll need to use the lift up to the main town (check the timings as they differ by season and it costs 50 cents each time). Ristorante L'Approdo is almost at the bottom of the stairs and you'll get a great meal and a friendly welcome. Another good restaurant is a 2-minute walk from the apartment. Follow the promenade to the right in front of the apartment to reach Ristorante Fracatell - it's family run, again great food and they will always greet you with a smile. If this is your first trip to Piano di Sorrento and you are coming from Naples Railway Station, I recommend that you look for the InStazione tourist services office (look for the red logo), you can just pay for the train, it'll cost more than the normal one (around euro18) but they will guide you to the correct train and it's a clean fast one that caters for tourists so until you find your feet it may give you more confidence. When you arrive at Piano di Sorrento there are not always regular taxis but you can call Alberto on +39 334 313 1266 and he charges around 15 euros to get to the apartment. It's easy to get to Sorrento by taxi/car and we took the ferry to Capri direct from the marina.

Would have liked to have the number of a reasonably priced taxi and a few more provisions as we were tired when we arrived and the shop in the marina was closed for the day. I'm glad we didn't know about the stairs because they may have put us off, delighted that never happened as it was a fabulous holiday in a great apartment in a beautiful location.

The Pictures Come Alive

We loved everything about Tonino's home. It's nautical theme of white & blue was a perfect background to the amazing sea & sky colors. We never got bored of looking out the windows to the marina, particularly the kitchen window, which is the star of this home. Unfortunately, of the 6 days we were there it rained, with some spectacular lightening shows at night. It prevented us from exploring the coast, but again we were quite content to sit and look out the windows. There is a lengthy balcony to sit out on & enjoy day or night. The apartment is large, kitchen well stocked, a nice large shower and a comfortable bed. There is a little deli further down the street with two lovely ladies who will serve you up a hefty sandwhich. Leave your change in their little cat "box" on the counter as they buy food to feed the many cats in area.. To get up the hill, into town there is a small bus - says Piano Di Sorrento on its front & Mr. Dash on the back. It comes by every 20 minutes after the hour. Starts at 0820. Give or take 5 or 10 minutes!!! It will go to the train station and then stops in town at the Piazza Cota in front of the barber shop where it sits till 10 minutes after the hour. 1 Euro per person each way. Or you can take the sea lift a small elevator up to the top of the hill and then you can walk. .50 euro pp. There is a supermercato on one of the streets heading into town. There were 2 restaurants open when we were there. At L'Approdo order their mussels marinara. It was delicious!!! Read about Tonino & Cassano Blu at the front of the guest book. Very interesting history.

Location was fabulous and Tonino was welcoming with lots of great advice, even taking time to make us a coffee. Everything was as shown on the website, however sitting on the balcony looking over the harbour exceeded our expectations.

The length of time we booked for - it was far too short, I think I speak for all of my family, we couldn’t find fault with this property.

Peaceful, relaxing place to watch the Sea

We never got tired of the view. We loved going to the beach down below (€2 entrance, extra for chairs, umbrellas and snacks). It was handy with a whole family and one bathroom that there was a second toilet in the laundry room. It was also good that there was a sink in the entrance hallway to clean off beach sand.

The kitchen was functional, but not the fanciest knives or pots. One day we saw some ants in the kitchen, but they did not come back when we left things clean. Whatever we did in the kitchen was a pleasure, looking out over the marina.
