bed very hard, the view over a dirty alley dreadful, water overflowed the bathroom every time we took a shower. the safe did not function, not very sound-cancelled room -we heard the neighbours talking and walking.

Owners very abrupt had requested a room with a bath but was told on arrival would cost another £10 on top of what was already over priced ( £100 ) out dated needing some TLC hotel, we was put in small not very nice room at the back of the hotel which was very noisy with revellers staggering home to the early hours then the delivery vehicles started at 06.00 ..

We had rooms as requested next to our teenage granddaughter the hotel staff were most helpful and answered our every need, and courteous throughout. The location was great and we intend to return with our son and his children to stay in the same rooms if possible.

It was a short notice booking. We were expected at reception and our room was ready. We were on the fourth floor but there was a lift and we enjoyed an interesting view over ancient roof tops. The dining room is on the first floor commanding a view over Dieppe beach and there is a comfortable small lounge on the ground floor where we were able to leave luggage at check out. Dieppe is a pleasant and bustling port town with a great choice of restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

Like most of the hotels on the sea front there is no parking available. Street parking is free and unlimited but is over-subscribed. Commercial parking is available at around 10 Euros a day. We elected to find free parking on the outskirts and abandon the car there for our stay. There is nothing in the hotel itself not to like.

Excellent location

As we were there during a very hot spell of 40 degrees we really missed air conditioning
