great for relaxing, shopping, onsen, and comfortable stay

Love the onsen and the guest services office where you can leave your luggage while you shop at their outlet mall. they even ship your luggage to your room before you check in.

Still enjoy the overall facilities provided by the integrated resort.

Complimentary shuttle round the clock to pick up guest to the different Prince Hotel. View is nice facing the greenery and lake.

No onsen in this hotel. have to travel to West wing or another wing can't remember the name. Room is dated. Need renovation.

High-end resort for a relaxing vacation

Close to JR station, free shuttle in the facilities. Great service, friendly staff, and high-quality room and restaurants. Having hot springs (charge a small fee) is a plus. I especially liked the guest center next to the JR station that accepts your luggages and sends them to your room for you.

All restaurants in the facilities require a reservation well in advance, and they are all high-end restaurants. There is nothing wrong with high-end restaurants requiring reservations, but I'd hope there are other more affordable options within a reasonable distance. The fact that the facilities are huge makes it difficult to go all the way out and shop outside. That there are no other dining options really came as a surprise to me and I had to book a table in the last minute. I didn't realize I had to book restaurants in advance and the fact that I had no restaurant reservations along with my stay (called a combo plan) also seemed a surprise to the staff during my check-in. It would have been nice to raise that information more explicitly upfront during hotel booking.

The property is a bit dated but very well maintained! The staff are so helpful - I needed to catch the earliest train in the morning and the hotel sent me to the station at 5:30am by arranging a special car for free.

Highly recommended!

Spacious room; great view!; helpful staff

Commuting by the hotel shuttle buses was more time consuming than expected, and often crammed due to the high volume of guests using the shuttle service.

Make sure to check the bus timetable before going anywhere

Quite convenient location, good shops and food court, love the hot springs.

Shuttle bus service hours should match the hot springs. My father was enjoying the hot spring at night and missed the last bus service which is about 2 hours earlier than the hot springs closes, ended up with walking in the dark cold night back to the hotel which sits at the corner of the hotel village. But the staff is very helpful to get him back to the hotel safely which is deeply appreciated.

Near by Outlet mall, easy travel from Tokyo. Nice welcome at reception room nearby Karuizawa station - South gate, good services for luggage delivery

Great French restaurant with excellent service on premise, cannot speak more highly of the staff at the restaurant.

Restaurant bookings are made via the call center, the service by the call center agents were horrendous. There was a long wait time and the agents insisted all the restaurants were full. The restaurant in our hotel was not even at half capacity for the whole night! The website quotes Onsen on premise, but the onsen actuall requires a 5 minute bus ride to the next hotel. The interiors of Prince Karuizawa were also very dated and in dire need of renovation. Think 80's style fittings.

Terrible experience

Very bad experience. 1. The location is terrible, at the very end of the Prince resort, which means you need to take the most stations of the shuttle bus every time to reach your room. 2. The hotel doesn’t have its own hot spring, you have to take the shuttle bus to a different place in freezing nights and wait an hour to get back, and yes, it’s chargeable. 3. The reception told us they don’t offer microwave services when we ask to heat our food from 7-11. Can you think of a 35000 yen per night hotel claims that they don’t have microwave?! So terrible. We will never back.

Really comfortable and memorable stay for me as I celebrated my anniversary with my wife.

The room was really luxurious and big. The staff members were really helpful and cooperative. Food at the French restaurant was an absolute treat.

The location is a bit off from the Karuizawa station and there’s nothing to commute from the main town to the hotel without Taxi after 9 pm.

Excellent service

Great service received from Prince hotel, offers free luggage delivery service directly to hotel room from Karuizawa Station. Free shuttle bus every half hour. In non-operating hours, free private shuttle between hot spring, train station and hotel can be arranged on request.
