It’s a historic building and is a very cool experience. The owner is very kind and helpful. He offered to let me stay longer since they didn’t have a guest in my room the day I checked out and my flight was at night. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the ferry to Valletta which is so convenient. I’m so glad I chose to stay in Cospicua (near Birgu) instead of Valletta. It’s nicer, quieter and more authentic and you can go to Valletta whenever you choose as the ferry ride is just 10 minutes (2 €) and it’s every 30 minutes or so.

Breakfast, well served and you have to select the options on the night before, it avoids food waste.
Location is excellent next to restaurants and easy access to the roads out of town.
Staff is amazing, everything was very well explained before our arrival so we could easily do the self check in.
Difficult to park the car, but it is Malta during summer so honestly it is an issue in the entire city 😅

The location and atmosphere were exceptional, and the premises were beautiful and cosy at the same time. However, the best thing was definitely the most kind and friendly staff. They make you feel very welcome.
The scent of incense was quite piercing everywhere at the hotel, which might disturb people suffering from migraine.

The Lodge common spaces are outstanding. The Lodge room Claude needs refreshment to call him Deluxe. Staff super helpful and kind.

This was the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen! The decor is modern and super comfortable but totally compliments the history of the building. Loads of charming traditional touches throughout and lots of local information to hand. It was easy to find. There is loads of free parking available on the street. Perfect location, a stones throw away from the stunning harbour, local to historical attractions and ample restaurants and cafes. Easy access to bus routes into Valletta (€2 each without a travel card). The continental breakfast was tasty and served in the most charming little courtyard. The staff were super friendly and attentive, kind and always available when needed. Even left us a surprise food tray in our room for our last day as we were going to miss breakfast due to our flight times. It was all the little touches and going that extra mile that made this gorgeous place feel truly magical. We are already looking at dates to return next year!

The whole property itself is beautiful. We loved our room (we stayed in 'Claude'). Breakfast was great and our host, Dorian, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect. Very quiet, but close to the marina where there were lovely bars and restaurants, and a short walk to the ferry for the short trip to Valletta. The area had a lovely, old town feel, and was easy to walk around, but be prepared for some steep steps as the place is clearly built on hills. Would definitely stay in this area and in this property next time we are in Malta.

Breakfast was very nice, you could choose from the day before what you would like for breakfast. The service was super and all employees were extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is in Cospicua, a quiet city-harbour/neighborhood which is one of the Three Cities (Cospicua, Birgu and Senglea) and is located across the vivant, touristic (worthy!) capital Valetta (you can visit Valetta via ferry from Cospicua in 5 minutes at a cost of about 2 euros) and at the restaurants, bars, etc at the seafront of all ThreeCities you have a wonderful, astonishing view of Valetta. The hotel is very nice inside, it has an aethrium, and gives the impression of historic house of Malta. We stayed at the Philippe room which was very nice and clean with private bathroom, a/c, tv, hot water, fridge. But the best surprise was the owner, Dorian, who was really hostile, giving the impression we were staying at a friendly house and not a typical hotel. He helped us with everything we would ask him, suggested a couple of really worthy restaurants and, in general, he attended really fast to all our messages (via booking or What's up). Thank you, Dorian!
There wasn't something we didn't like.

It felt like I was living in a room in a castle. Had a good bed and the rooms had lots of character. It felt well secure and the staff were very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. Had air conditioning in rooms which allowed you to choose the temperature your room was at.
The shower was temperamental as to whether the water was luke warm or hot.

The Lodge is a beautiful escape. Silent, clean and very central. One minute away from the boat that takes you to Valletta. Well connected. Highly recommended if you want to visit Malta and stay in a quiet location. The amazing breakfast is a bigger plus.

We stayed at The Lodge in Bormla for the feast of the Immaculate Conception on the 8th December. The Lodge has been faithfully restored to reflect its historic heritage dating back to the time of the Knights of St. John while having all the modern facilities added to it. It is in a prime central location. The owner, Dorian, made us most welcome and gave us a fascinating tour of his historic property. The staff were all so friendly, especially Natalie, who went out of her way to customise our breakfast and chat with us in the morning.
What a lovely place, we will definitely be back.

Breakfast was focused on your diet and was fairly well balanced. No fry ups. I would have liked to have seen Granola on the menu as a Personal preference.
Storage space, particularly in wardrobe with decent sized drawers.

This was the hunting lodge of one of the Knights of St John built around 1580, the cellar, wells, aqueduct, cistern and tunnel beneath are even older. Its a beautiful and very atmospheric historic building. Its on a lane of steps, so no traffic noise. Just stand in its hallways and courtyards and wander what happened in the centuries before you, if you appreciate ancient buildings its definitely worth staying here.
Nothing, as long as you research this hotel on their website before you book so you know it is a small hotel in an historic building in a quiet area you should not be disappointed.

The breakfast was wonderful, very tasty and well organized. The location was great, very easy to reach the rest of the island and many sights within walking distance.
We had a seperate (down the hall) private bathroom, which did not have AC so it was a little uncomfortable to use. The bedrooms did have AC so that might only be an issue for this specific room.
