Conveniently located close to Perisher resort. Hotel provided shuttle service to the slopes was a nice feature. Hosts were very accommodating to our needs.
No fridges in room, communal fridge to store drinks was inadequate.

It’s a lovely piece of the Snowfields history, handy to Perisher. The staff are friendly and the rooms cozy.
The food isn’t as good as it could be, and there is no choice, breakfast is very basic. Was sad to see the previous selection of nice teas is no more, as is the old welcome pack with some cookies and ‘Sponar’s tea’. Suggest bringing your own tea, yogurt, etc if you want those things.

The vintage vibes.
Over run with school kids so unable to use the facilities. Cereal and bread for breakfast only. Pool was closed. Unable to get food for my toddler from the kitchen. No power on one day.

Good gluhwein
Possibility of seeing platypus in the lake
No muesli or porridge for breakfast
No choice for evening meal. Bread (no rolls) only on request

Shuttle bus was convenient. Staff were mostly friendly.
The food is plentiful, but the variety of meals and flavour was okay at best.
Soup was served EVERY night as an entrée, so we were all soup’ d out by night 3.
Desserts were shocking, dry, flavourless and not as described. As someone with a sweet tooth I was extremely disappointed.
Walls are also very thin; our room was next to the stairs, and we barely slept most nights with people stomping up and down the stairs late into the night.
Would have also liked some milk in the room for making tea and coffee.

I mistakenly chose a double room with one bed and was able to change to two beds on request
The staff both friendly and professional

Dinner with the lamb menu; The staff were always friendly and helpful; playing in the snow just outside the property.
Heater in the room was not heating the room enough; There was no milk additive to make white tea or coffee in the room.

we had a fabulous stay at this institution open for our summer break. kids loved the pool, pool table, lake, cozy movie room and comfy lounges and the adults loved having knowledgeable friendly hosts and lovely food. what a location in the national park amazing place to stay.
the lack of mobile coverage might be a negative for some but we enjoyed it

Warm hospitality, very fast WiFi, great facilities including pool and steam room, well-appointed common areas and delicious food!
Installing insect screens to bedroom windows would greatly improve ventilation and comfort at night

Healthy food, willingness to meet our different dietary needs. Friendly service.

Breakfast was cooked. Although there was a set breakfast it was nice and quick.
An earlier bus time for return trip.

Bar and duo performing. Drying room was great. Shuttle bus to Perisher was great.
Limited food choice for first 2 courses. Desserts were great.

Location, accessibility to the mountain, parking on site, ease of access, no ski tube ! comfortable lounge areas. Good equipment storage areas for skis boots etc.
Food was OK, but (we think) affected by limited numbers staying in house due to Sydney covid lockdowns. WiFi access limited to lounge area only.

Staff were super accommodating.
Just dated from a room perspective

Excellen location for accessing Perisher Valley Ski enter.
Access to the room was via 3 floors, 63 steps and long corridor. Food delivery was slow, took over an hour to arrive and was of a very poor quality. No information available in the room about meal timings, access to swimming pool, wifi etc, Printed sheet distributed at Reception 2 days after arrival,

Good location, near Charlottes Pass, although as a stand alone building is rather isolated. Interesting history of the building, food was not too bad
Rigid meal times. Accommodation is very poor quality for the money - cramped, limited views despite fantastic location, windows have solid wooden shutters on the inside that look like they were made out of old packing cases. Hot water didn't work when we arrived (was fixed on request). Non-existant WiFi unless you pay $30 per-device (no data sharing), and is slooowwww. Better to drive up the road and use your phone. No phone reception in the building, and WiFi too slow to allow FaceTime. Managers are nice enough, but too intrusive for my style. I have a busy job and on my holidays I want nice accommodation and to be left alone, rather than encouraged into engaging with strangers.

great location and great views
Nothing really but I guess I didn’t get enough free chocolates but I think they were thinking about my health lol

Rosemary & Eric were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. They had lots of local knowledge about hiking and cycling and arranged group activities. The food was great and good value for money.
We’d recommend Sponars Chalet if you love the great out doors and are hoping to go back in the spring.
👍❤️

Wonderful little place so close to the snow. Very cosy, and the hosts were awesome! Went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, especially making us laugh with my special request haha! Will definitely be back 😄
