About this house rental
Situated in Carolina Beach, this lovely house for R 4,720 per night is a great option for your next break. Welcome to Carolina Beach! "Winborne" is a lovely oceanfront duplex just six blocks south of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Spectacular panoramic views of the ocean are visible from the open design of this home. There are balconies on every floor so you can let in the fresh ocean air. You will find shops, restaurants, and an abundance of summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music all at our legendary Boardwalk. This cheerfully decorated duplex has three living levels that can be accessed via stairs from the ground level. There are 4 bedrooms with TVs in each room, as well as 3.5 bathrooms to accommodate everyone. On the ground floor, there is enough room for 2 cars, one under the carport as well as one in the driveway. The first level holds two bedrooms, each with their own private balcony. The first bedroom has a queen bed and a private half bathroom, with the oceanside balcony. The second bedroom has a twin daybed with a pull-out twin trundle bed that is perfect for the kids, and the street side balcony. This floor also has an additional, communal full bathroom with a shower tub combination that makes bath time for the little ones a breeze. A convenient full-size washer and dryer are also located on the first floor. The open concept second level is where you will find the fully equipped kitchen that features two eat-in bars that seat six, a full dining area for six, and a separate breakfast area that seats 4, ensuring that there is more than enough room for everyone. The living area overlooks the oceanfront covered balcony and includes a pull-out sleeper sofa so that this space can serve as an additional sleeping area. Finally, the third level is where you will find two additional bedrooms, both with separate private balconies. The primary bedroom has the oceanside balcony, with a king bed and full private bathroom, that includes a double vanity sink and stand in shower. The last bedroom has the street side balcony, with a Queen bed and full private bathroom with another walk-in shower. Occupancy: 10 Stay Requirements: Saturday to Saturday rental in Summer. Minimum two night stay other seasons. Bedding Configuration: 1 King, 2 Queens, 1 Day Bed with Twin Trundle, 1 Sofa Bed. Parking: Parking for two vehicles - one under carport, one driveway. Prohibited: Smoking, Pets. For larger family gatherings, rent the adjoining unit “C123 Whitney”, for a total of 8 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms, and 2 living areas! This rental was great for location with private beach access. Other than that everything else was bare minimum quality. We rent every year at Carolina Beach and this rental was overall average at best. No furniture on porches, elevator didn’t work, cockroaches all over. For the amount of money we paid we expected a better experience. Will not rent this place again.

It would have been nice to have a dust pan with the broom. Was difficult to sweep with no broom. Vacuum cleaners really didn't pick up much. Would have been nice to have some plastic cups and plate ware for the kids. If I would have known I could have brought my own. Thank you!!

Great location, but that's all that was great
perfect location but the place is just run down, kitchen faucet is broken and has no hot water, furniture is old, kitchen stuff is adequate but not great..not one single lidded container. No hair dryer. Exactly one towel per person. Exactly one pillow per person. No extra blankets..I could go on. We rent a lot and normally are more than happy. Wait, did I mention the 3 cockroaches? Ok, I'm done. The place was big and location was amazing though.

The house itself was ok, but there we a few issues that were unacceptable for the price we paid and all the associated fees. There were only 6 forks and 8 meal size plates. This was a home advertised for 10. The bedspreads were filthy and mattress pad stained and gross. We arrived with a dirty sponge left in the kitchen sink and instructions to bag all of our sheet and towels for the cleaning person who we paid to clean. The patio chairs were old and uncomfortable , the sofa bed was horrible, and none of the beds were made for us.

Our criteria for finding a vacation rental was based on one thing - an elevator! I have a broken back and we were traveling with my 84 year old mother so accessibility was #1. When we arrived we immediately had trouble with the elevator. We called Bryant Real Estate and an hour later the maintenance person showed up. He told us that he would call the elevator repair company. After calling 11 times over the next three days, still no
resolution. We were held captive in our rental because we could not navigate the stairs (3 stories) and didn't know if we would be able to get back up if the elevator somehow got us down. Bryant Real Estate said they felt that they had done a good job in addressing our issue. That's funny because when we left the elevator was still not fixed. We will never use Bryant Real Estate again and will share with everyone!!! They did give us a $200 refund out of a three day $2500. rental. We could have rented other units that didn't have an elevator for $1500.
(so we paid an extra $1000. just to have the elevator)....

Very easy and fast check in. Great private location. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. This is a beautiful property in a great location. We were in walking distance of the boardwalk, shops and restaurants. The views from the balconies were amazing, we spent a lot of time out there! We loved the huge shower in the master bedroom. My only suggestion would be to add hooks in the bathrooms instead of towel bars because there was not enough hanging space when multiple people shared a bathroom. The elevator was a huge plus for my 81 year old father in law. We loved our stay and were sad to go home!

We really enjoyed our stay @the Winborne. We have never stayed on the beach and loved the views & convenience. Our only disappointments were the carpets in each bedroom were quite dirty & should be replaced. I wish they had a separate trash bin to make recycling easier.

This spacious home is on a less-crowded part of the beach and has spectacular views from windows and porches. Lots of space for gathering on the main level. A boardwalk from the back porch leads directly to the beach.
Our only complaints were with housekeeping. It seems reasonable to supply trashcan liners, soap for every sink and decent quality sheets that are not scratchy. A few of the pillows need replacing. Home should be aired out after exterminator visits.
Despite that, we would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect and Carolina Beach has just enough amenities without being too touristy.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. The rental company was extremely responsive when the elevator did not work. The home was very clean. It is in need of painting and updated decor. The queen bedroom on the bottom floor does have a balcony but you can only see the beach if you stand on your tiptoes due to the dunes and a large bush that needs to be cut back. That same bedroom has a very small half bath and shares a bath tub with the bedroom that contains two twins.

The house smelled like smoke when we arrived and there was food under the trundle bed. The 3rd floor upper deck railing was rotten and so we were unable to use that deck. Both upper and lower decks had no chairs. Two of the chairs on the main deck were broken and unusable but were replaced quickly. The main deck table is rusted with very sharp edges and dangerous. The kitchen faucet needed to be tightened as the handle was ready to fall off. My frustration is that these items should all have been noticed by a competent cleaning crew and safety inspector and I should not have had to deal with maintenance (who was very polite and helpful) on my vacation. We love to vacation in Carolina Beach and this unit has the potential to be a great rental.

We LOVE the Winborne and have stayed there multiple times! The layout is perfect for our usual group of family including 3 adults and 4 kids age range 13-17. Perfect location for walking to the great restaurants close by as well as private access to a great location on the beach!

Great Place Right on the Beach
We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a duplex but we couldn't hear the neighbors at all when inside. Plenty of room. We had trouble with the internet reception/TV on one floor and they sent someone out right away to handle it. Would recommend.
