The location is superb. The views are spectacular, the staff were exceptional and so friendly. Stunning decor and beautifully furnished. the location on the town of Perast is very special.

Sasha and his team are marvelous hosts! This place is offering am absolutely stunning view to the bay of Kotor. Rooms are very nice, pool area perfect, breakfast delicious! I loved the privacy and the small size (only 6 rooms). Only a few steps to go to the beach andcto the centre of Perast.

Monte Bay Retreat is so picturesque, ideally located atop the city with sweeping views of the mountains, the sea, a private island, and an island museum just a boat ride away.
The moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Sasha, who sat down with us for a drink and introduced us to the facilities and the history of the 300-year-old building he bought from the Monastery next door and lovingly renovated.
Our luxurious room had a large patio garden with a decorated gate overlooking the sea. Inside, every detail was taken care of, from the comfortable king sized bed, to the bathtub with a headrest, the Japanese self-cleaning toilet, the high quality stone double vanity, and the waterfall-like dual spray multicolor shower.
Breakfast (lunch or dinner also) was served by Chef Nikola, a gourmet experience akin to Michelin star restaurants. The banana bread and French toast were divine. The wait staff Christian and Ivan attended to our every need. Sasha provided an exclusive private dining experience for the guests - not open to the public.
After a long day of hiking and touring nearby cities, we often relaxed with drinks at the upper deck, swam in the infinity pool watching boats and cruise ships pass by below.
I can’t say enough about our delightful experience celebrating our anniversary. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are planning our next trip back already…for a lengthier stay.

The two best parts of this place are the view and the owner. The view is just like the photos, the owner is just like you read in the other reviews: very authentic, warm, and special person who addressed you by your name. You indeed feel rightly at home. Place has great facilities such as a sauna and an infinity pool. also great music is played in the restaurant area. very peaceful and relaxing.
The place is overpriced; the rooms are comfortable and the view is good, but the price is too high. You also need to pay extra (20 euro) for use of facilities such as the sauna (which is as described on the advertisement but should be included considering the steep pricing).
Biggest issue is the price of the food. This is very expensive but probably explained by the small setting (only four tables for guests of the hotel), whilst there still is plenty staff on duty.

We have been there for honeymoon. It was amazing! It is like a privat place because there are only 6 Rooms who can be booked. They are only cooking for you and no tourists. The food is delicious. The spices are coming directly from the garden. The Bananabread on Breakfast is the best banabread we ever had! It’s not just food. They made Design out of food. The owner is very friendly and takes time for his guests. He loves his job and makes the best cocktails.
It is expensive, but in other countries you never get such a great and private hotel for this price like this. Great design, great view… so much to tell about.

The hotel was gorgeous, spotlessly clean and the view was incredible. Sasha went above and beyond to make our stay practically perfect. The food was exceptional, highly highly recommend if you can manage to book here!

It was as amazing as the pictures.
We loved the view, the kindness of the owner and the staff, the room, the breakfast.
Definitely worth the price.
The beds by the swimming pool gets quickly full, some additional beds could be nice so that every client can enjoy the amazing pool and view in the afternoon.
We also wished we had known in advance there was a parking spot in the hotel.

The room we got was in the attic and had only a very small window towards the view and the other window was facing the pool. The room was a bit dark.
Other rooms seemed to have larger windows towards the view- better to request one
Going to and from the center requires negotiating stairs- we liked it as going through narrow alleys. But could be an issue for people of less mobility

The cook in this hotel is awesome and the food is amazing. And all the other staff is just as nice and awesome.

The hotel was fantastic, it is small, quiet and very relaxing. The staff are amazing, they treat you like family. The pool area and the view is spectacular, we spent most of our time up there. There were enough sun loungers plus spare, and pool towels were provided. We ate dinner at the hotel on one night with an amazing view, great food and no other guests were around, it was like dining on a private terrace. We would love to return one day

The staff and service are second to none and the sun terrace is one of kind. Great location, great food and amazing views.
Whilst the hotel and the facilities were great, unfortunately we just didn't find our particular room very practical/comfortable for two people for more than a day or two. It was very dark and quite difficult to see, there was nowhere to hang wet towels/swimwear and the only cupboards were at the far side of the bed in a very dark alcove under the roof. The air con really really struggled and it was very hot and stuffy in the room. We would return to the hotel but would chose a different room next time.

Very charming and beautifully located Boutique-Hotel with an amazing view and a great pool area! The hospitality of Sasha and his staff was outstanding! If you want to relax for a few days while also being able to explore the Boka Bay, you should definitely stay here.

This place is pretty special - we felt so lucky to start our honeymoon here. The view is out of this world and Perast is such a romantic location, but what really makes it is Sasa and his lovely team. From the moment we arrived (in fact, the evening before, when Sasa assisted me in planning an airport transfer via WhatsApp!), nothing was too much trouble. Sasa talked about making his guests feel like family, and that's definitely how we felt - especially when my husband was presented with a birthday cake and fizz for all the guests to celebrate! The food is also to die for - we had the best seafood platter of our whole trip here and breakfast is lovely. We will return...
I wish I could put something here so that Sasa doesn't get so booked up that we can't come back...but I can't!

The breakfast gave me until I was bursting at the seams and was so delicious. The breakfast gifted us with an appetizer, main course, and dessert after dinner. The drinks were coffee, freshly squeezed juice, and orange water. It was the most scrumptious breakfast I have ever had.
The room has a great view of the church and the sea, the facilities are excellent, there is a great bathtub, the toilet and shower are intelligent.
The owner of the shop is very welcoming and very nice. They helped us with dinner reservations, parking and prepared a welcome ceremony to welcome us. It felt like coming home.

Very kind owner, nice place with an amazing view.
We should have guessed that before, but clearly 50% of the price is for the view, which was not so important for us. So not good value for money, we expected better.
Also the local food prepared by an employee was tasty, but not worth for money.

If you are looking for a small but luxury boutique hotel in the area: this is your place! Perast is the most beautiful town in the area, Monte Bay Retreat is a jewel and the owner as well as the staff of the hotel are providing great hospitality. You really feel like a family guest, not just a "paying number". We stayed 8 night and had a very enjoyable and relaxing time the there.

We loved everything. The place is absolutely perfect and the staff were unbelievably kind, helpful. This was 1 of the best places we have stayed in, that good that after travelling through Montenegro planning to propose to my girlfriend I ended up choosing this place to do it. We did the private chef experience within the retreat and received some of the best food we ever had. The rooms had everything we needed and we're finsihed to a very very high standard. Sacha and the team were so helpful and considerate throughout our stay. We will definitely be back. Thanks you all so much.
Nothing. It even rained for most of 1 day oddly enough which you'd think is a bad thing but we had everything in the retreat to keep us happy. Great selection if wines and cocktails. Try the mojito.

Our stay was exceptional. It‘s like staying at friend’s house but having all the hotel comfort. Sasha is a very funny and great host with helps you with everything. Breakfast was exceptional as well (Banana Bread!)

Sasha is an incredible host who has curated one of the loveliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. His hospitality immediately puts you at ease and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful - with stunning views over perast and the bay. The rooms are comfortable, well designed and spacious - again with lovely views and top of the range facilities (Japanese toilet and lovely shower for starters). Breakfast was delicious - would highly recommend.
The wifi was patchy but not terrible - with that said you forget very quickly about wifi when staying somewhere so beautiful.

Very clean room with great sea view. It has an infinite pool also and we enjoyed dinner along side the pool. Owner was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed chatting with him. Location is great with walking distance to everywhere. Strong wifi signal.

Absolutely everything. We were provided with incredible hospitality and made to feel extremely comfortable and relaxed throughout our 2 night stay. Saša is an attentive and considerate host with outstanding eye for detail, and also simply really great to chat with. We loved our room especially the rain shower and the Japanese toilet. The small infinity pool and deck area was a wonderful place to relax and soak in the views over Perast and the bay.

The location is absolutely magnificent, because in a minute you are on the beach or in a restaurant or a boat that takes you on nearby excursions, and at the same time you have complete privacy. The food is homemade and delicious, you can enjoy the dinners of a private chef, fish specialties and great wines, supreme musical taste of the host with a phenomenal view of the bay. The complete facility is carefully and tastefully furnished. Sasha and the staff are so wonderful, hospitable and helpful that you feel like you are at home.

I had no complaints, but If there is any issue the owner/manager will take steps to make it right immediately.
