About this cottage rental
Nestled in Southern Shores, this attractive cottage for R 2,671 per night is a great choice for your next trip. COVID19 SPECIAL NOTICE: Dare County including the Outer Banks is open to visitors. It is important for visitors to follow guidelines on social distancing and personal protective equipment to keep everyone safe and the beaches open. Please check the Dare County website for guidelines and information about staying safe, new business operation restrictions. Many restaurants are now open for in side dining as well as offering take out, curbside pick up, and delivery. https://www.darenc.com/departments/health-human-services/coronavirus We have implemented new cleaning procedures with emphasis on touch points, but all surfaces are being disinfected. We are following industry recommendations based on Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for safe operation of our vacation rental property. Since we do not have laundry machines at the cottage, all blankets and bead spreads have been removed. In addition to the usual linens, (sheets and towels), you will also need to bring blankets/bedspreads with you. There are linen services in the area that can provide these if you do not want to pack them. We apologize for this inconvenience, but there is no other way to safely provide these items. We do have pillows with protective covers, but if you feel more safe with your own, add these to your packing list. Spray bottles with a 10:1 bleach solution is at the cottage for your use. (Commercial cleaning products are difficult to find)! So here is a summary of what you can do to make your stay safe: At check-in: remove shoes before entering cottage (this is difficult as you unpack but if possible have one person unload the car and another person inside) wipe high touch surfaces with disinfectant (we have done this, but industry recommendations suggest guests take the extra precaution) If using bed pillows provided, be sure to use your own pillowcases During your stay follow the three W's: Wear a mask/cloth face covering when in public areas, (some businesses will require masks to enter) Wait six feet apart Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water or hand sanitizer Be mindful of what you touch in public areas, (hand rails, gas pumps, grocery carts, etc. Most important.....have a wonderful time! The beach is a wonderful place to relax and restore. Following the social distancing guidelines and safety precautions will help keep everyone healthy and the beaches open. Sitting just 100 yds from the beach, Sea Breezes North is inviting and comfortable the minute you walk through the door. Each side of the duplex has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and a living/dining/kitchen area. A unique sliding wall allows for rental of both sides with a common dining area, (when the wall is open). Each kitchen is fully equipped. There is cable TV, DVD, and wifi, a private deck with grill and heavenly outside showers on each side. The Town of Southern Shores was founded on volunteerism and continues to be cared for by a strong team of members of the community. It is a strong community committed to preserving a safe, family friendly beach and sound area. Beach and sound access is limited to property owners and renters, so over-crowding is not an issue. Access to the beach from Sea Breezes Cottage is a short 100 yard walk. Although across the street from the beach access path, the cottage is in a strictly enforced 25 mph zone of Ocean Blvd, making crossing the street easy and safe. The North side of the cottage is identical to the South side unit except in bedding. On this side, there is one bedroom that has bunk beds plus an additional twin. The second bedroom has a king size bed. There is also a queen size sleep sofa in the living area. Please note that we do not provide linens. We enjoyed the location and went to the beach every day which was just about across the road and up some steps. The house reminded me of camping cabins and we were comfortable bringing our own sheets, towels, cooking oil, toilet paper, etc. We also primarily used the outdoors shower.

Home was older but very convenient to everything. Was clean and had lots of space. 4 women stayed and had no problems. Loved we could just walk across the street to the beach. I would stay here again.

This classic outer banks flat top is the perfect location next to a beach access. The landscaping in front provides privacy and a beautiful view from the window seat. The house is loaded with vintage charm, well furnished, clean and beds are comfortable. Hosts are responsive and check in was smooth. Enjoy your stay!

Clean, quiet neighborhood and street, close to beach.
Guests on both sides of duplex need to encouraged to respect late night hours. Last family that moved in n X-ray door allowed small kids to scream until very late and they also threw toys up against the wall separating the apartments apartments. Without that, the place is perfect

I spent a special week with my 11-year old son here. This charming cozy bungalow couldn't have been a more perfect fit for us. It is a true gem, an original post-war bungalow hidden among the newer castles. Dark wood interior, so nostalgic. Everything worked fine too. But most of all, the rooms and and feel were cozy, timeless.

The location was perfect for our visiting family, and being walkable to the beach was great. However, having to bring your own sheets is painful; towels I can appreciate (though this would be a hardship if flying in), but not everyone has a king size bed, so we had to borrow those - and we brought blankets too though it seems like there were some in the closet? I can understand the rationale when COVID was in full swing, but now it seems like linens are part of the rental that should be included, especially since there is no washer or dryer on premises. So just be aware of the expectations.

No frills cute beach cottage. Had everything I needed and great location. Comfortable bed. Owner gave me late check out without even asking since no one was coming in after, was great service.

This is a vintage flat top cottage with Juniper paneling. It’s clean & comfortable. The beds are very comfortable. The outside could use some sprucing up.

The cottage is very rustic but it did feel clean. It is wonderful that they allow dogs so we were able to bring our dog with us on vacation. The cottage is very close to the beach and shopping. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect size and location for our family, including our dog. Close enough to shopping and attractions but also off the main road. The beach was so close and having extra outdoor space for our stay was great. I would recommend staying here to anyone with a small family or group.

I was very pleased with the location -- although super-convenient to the main highway, it is located on a residential street. The convenience to the beach cannot be underestimated -- just across the street and up the path, Our daughters loved being able to just go to the beach for a couple of hours every evening. The property itself is small, but was plenty big enough for our family of four. It would have been nice not to have had to bring all of our bedding and towels with us (we actually had to buy king sized sheets, as we don't own a king-sized bed), and a washer and dryer would be helpful (especially since the closest laundromat with decent reviews was in Manteo -- a 25 minute drive). However, for this price point, those are annoyances that would not affect us staying here again. We had one small hiccup with check-in, and it was handled promptly, which I appreciated.

the house was well appointed but gritty with sand on nearly all surfaces including floor. The temperature inside would not record lower than 74 degrees with very stagnant air movement. I had to rush order in some inhalers for a COPD flare up. House was not as show in pictures in regards to promimity of ocean, ease to get there and was far more than 100 yards away

Great OBX Stay!!
Really enjoyed our stay at Sea Breezes North. House was well stocked, nice space to relax, play games with family and hang out on back patio in between beach time and bike rides in to Duck.
Anne is a wonderful hostess and made sure our stay was a good one. Might consider renting both sides in the future!

It’s a nice place. The beds are comfortable and everything was clean. The outside shower was not working. There were no trash bags, paper towels or dishwasher detergent so we made a trip to Walmart. The clothesline outside was great! Beach access right across the street was ideal.

The only suggestion I would have for the owners would be a fire pit for both sides of the house. We only saw one for the other half. The other thing is the outside water did not work for us. One last thing and again not against the property or the owners but the people renting other side had a dog that barked often and I'm sure some of it was it heard us as we were a bigger group.
