Nice decor
Friendly and helpful staff
Good location close to the beach
Allows pets for additional supplement
Basic spa facilities but nice to have in a hotel
General wear and tear could do with some maintenance to keep it looking fresher in places

The staff was amazing, very helpful people and really made me feel good in my weekend.
The food was great, their service for booking a table , very fast .
On check out , the staff kindly offer to call a taxi for me .
I would probably need to say the cleaning process wasn’t very efficient.

Nice room , beautifully clean , lovely staff .
All the hidden extras we had to pay for - maybe I’m old and didn’t read the small print properly , but breakfast& parking on site added on to our bill came as a bit of a surprise

breakfast was good, restaurant and lounge decor was gorgeous. good mix of spa facilities although it could do with modernising
the room was tiny and the window looked out to a fire escape/roof, there were people walking around, we couldn't leave the window open (for fresh air in the tiny room) for fear of someone or bird coming in

Room interior design was smart and tasteful

The location was super, lovely inside.
THE STAFF WERE AMAZING!!!
The swimming pool was lovely, although the jacuzzi didn’t work?
The bedroom decor was tired,
I am partially disabled, so had an accessible room. The bathroom sink was tiny, with no hot water, it was a wet room but the water didn’t drain properly, so had to use our towels to stop the water leaking into the bedroom!! There was no blind to the window, which I find embarrassing. Even though the window was frosted, you can still see the silhouette of the person.
The bed although comfortable came apart as there was a zip to join the mattresses. So as a disabled person, with a serious spinal issue, this was very painful.

Very nice property with good spa facilities including pool etc. Also lovely bar and restaurant. Parking on site was very helpful and made the stay easy.
Appreciate the site is dog friendly but people shouldn’t be allowed to leave their dogs in rooms if they aren’t well trained. We had a dog barking continuously from around 7am one morning and then again in the evening.

Some of the receptionist were inexperienced. The breakfasts were excellent.the bedrooms are in a poor state of repair the wc is not even screwed down to the floor, and the rooms aren’t checked or replenished each day.
The rooms need to be upgraded and clean. Some of the staff need more training.

Front of house staff, restaurant and bar staff all very friendly and helpful.
Room was a good size
Location very good
Lack of parking due to air show, no contingencies in place.
Room service was very poor
Room not made up for 2 days, even after requesting it.
Only 2 coat hangers in the wardrobe, asked for more none appeared.
Had to ask for towels 3 times in one day, in the end a gentleman on reception delivered them to our room in the evening.
He did apologise
The crockery at breakfast was very basic like being back at school, not what you would expect in a 4* hotel.

Location was excellent, staff we friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely
Lifts were out of order and we were on top floor. Room was meant to to an upgrade and was very basic. No drinks token given being a mercure silver member.
Spa was being upgraded, but showers were broken, lighting was broken and very little room to change. Disappointed.

Pool.
The room had broken A/C, uncomfortable bed, facilities were average at best. The parking situation was awful.

Breakfast was high quality with a great selection. Staff helpful and friendly.
The hotel is more of a 3 star, parts have been refurbed but parts haven’t - lacks attention to detail. Lots of paint chips/wallpaper marks and pool area is very old fashioned.
Price needs to be cheaper to reflect this.

Stunning decoration looks amazing
Great size room
Great breakfast
Great location
Pet friendly
Great food and drinks
Cleanness of room (need detail cleaning)
Attention to details (5 broken bulbs on my room, floor to noisy in some areas of the room )
The pool was closed on half of my stay (I did book this hotel specifically because of the pool)
You pay for the park, but you may not be able to use it (yes, you got a refund, but that doesn't solve the problem)

Rip off
£537 for a “superior twin”, nothing superior about it. Marks on walls and room doorway showing signs of damage, bathroom had loose spotlight fitment and exposed radiator bleeding valve (photos attached) surely a hazard.
Room had signs of dirt, skirting boards and in bathroom, requested the room to be serviced which appeared to be an inconvenience to the cleaners.
Car park £10 a day, again another rip off as this doesn’t even hold/secure you a space, drove out one day and returned to no available spaces, had to park on separate road to hotel and moved car late at night. Although there were quite a few spaces apparently “reserved” and not in use - why reserve other spaces

Location, breakfast and rooms were nice
Entire family and other parties who were in the swimming pool fell ill to the extent that 2 fire brigades and 3 ambulances were called out to check if there was a chlorine leak, following the investigation from the firebrigade team no feedback was provided back to the guests.

The bed was very comfortable. The location was good as most things were in walking distance as long as you don't mind walking. The toiletries were lovely.
No real information available at reception about the spa and it's services. Limited access to ice and no way of chilling anything in the room. Description of room as cosy double was an understatement as if more than one person was to stay in one you would be tripping over eachother and there is nowhere to put all your belongings. No soft close on communal doors so lots of noise throughout day and night. Faulty lamp and TV remote. Limited TV channels not even plus one channels available. Lots of chips and damage on walls. Stains on carpet.

Selection of items were very good, staff pleasant and friendly willing to help
Room not clean stains on the carpet, replenished of towels had to be requested also toilet paper. Replenishment if yea coffee milk had to be requested

Excellent location, nice bar, good breakfast and restaurant team was fabulous.
Having stayed in Mercure hotels before we had high expectations, however we were extremely disappointed during our weekend stay at the hotel. It’s one of our favourite hotel chains but this stay was quite different to what we’ve experienced in the past. Check in was nearly 1 hour long and we had to check in twice. The first time I was told that the rate on their system was different and they wanted to charge me £100 more, even though my booking was confirmed on booking.com. The second time when we came to collect the bags and our room key they’ve continued the check in process, asked for my card again for the second time, I was unsure why..
The room description was very misleading. We’ve booked a king superior room and it was nothing what it looked like on the pictures. Completely different interior design, spec & finish, and most importantly there was no shower, even though I specifically paid for an upgrade to make sure we get a room with a shower.
In addition I’ve placed a special request at the time of making a booking and asked for a slice of cake and something to say happy birthday, as we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. They didn’t even acknowledge my request, even though I’ve sent it twice. During the check in I’ve mentioned this to the lady on reception and she said that nothing can be done at such short notice! The birthday was on the following day and I’ve sent my request nearly 2 weeks ago! Huge disappointment there :(
Finally at the check out we were asked to pay for breakfast, even though we’ve already paid for everything during the check in.

The location was good. Walking distance to the beach. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly 😘
Stayed for 2 nights
The 1st room given was dirty. Paid for a premium room. The throw on the bed had ‘stuff’ stuck on it. Spill marks on the throw and also stains and spill marks up the wall. Moved to another room! It defiantly wasn’t a premium as bed was smaller but when question led reception insisted it was a premium room.
Toilet seat broken and reported - wasn’t fixed! I could go on .. there’s so much more!! If we hadn’t paid so much for the hotel I would have given a better review based on what I paid this defo wasn’t worth the money!! The hotel was pretty shabby!!
