Queen Mary House: Very large holiday home with superb sea views
About this house rental
Situated in Sheringham, this charming house for R 12,455 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Built in the Art Deco era, this three-storey, end-of-terrace house (formerly two adjacent houses) offers bright rooms, sea views, and sleeping arrangements for up to 20 people – all in a fantastic clifftop position overlooking Sheringham beach. The house has been arranged with large family gatherings in mind, and we’ve tried our best to cater for all your needs. On the ground floor there is a very large, open-plan living area with a well-stocked kitchen, ample comfortable seating, and a large dining table. There’s also a games room with table football and pool/snooker, and an enclosed, sea-facing patio with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. In terms of location, you’d be hard-pressed to find somewhere better. The (dog-friendly) East Beach is only three minutes’ walk away, the North Norfolk Coastal Path begins almost on our doorstep, and Sheringham town centre (known for its old-fashioned seaside atmosphere and thriving independent shops) is just five minutes’ walk away. You’ll find more information about our facilities below, but if there’s anything else you’d like to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. *** Repeat visitors, please contact us for a discount! ***

The house was very large suitable in size for our family of 19. However the upstairs rooms were noisy and not suitable for our age ranges the teenagers couldn’t use the games room when the small ones were asleep.
The main problem was the oven the door wouldn’t close so cooking the turkey was quite a challenge.
The parking was a problem as we had 4 cars we were told there was plenty of parking in the nearby road, this was not the case it must be a nightmare in summer.

Brilliant house for family gatherings. Well equipped and well appointed. It felt like home as soon as we walked in. Would definitely book again. Thankyou.

We were celebrating a birthday & there were 18 of us staying, the house was perfect with many thoughtful touches, the pictures on this site don’t really do it justice.
Would not hesitate to visit again & would definitely recommend to anyone.
Thank you

Great place to stay for an extended family weekend away. The space was perfect and was exactly as described. Wonderful location a short walk from the beach and the town centre. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful house with a few hiccups we had no hot water and heating for a little while but the owner promptly got a plumber in the next day the oven didn’t shut probably and we had a washing machine which we needed to use as one of my grandsons was sick in his bed and I needed to wash the bedding but the machine didn’t work other than than I would love to go back x

Great place for everyone - lots of space and lots to do. We managed to get all 20 ( 2 in high chairs) of us round the table. 😀

Birthday celebration with the whole immediate family, 14 of us. The house was spacious, very well located and had the necessary equipment.
However, the oven proved a little slow and we could have done with more bin liners and some essential cleaning products and while the patio area had lovely views, the seating did not encourage time outside.
The beds were comfortable and the linen was very fresh. The seating in the dining area and the comfy sofas met our needs. We would recommend this house for large groups.

Lovely large property where we have stayed for the last 3 years. However we felt this year it’s looking very tired and in need of some tlc. Some basic maintenance work needs doing such as toilet door doesn’t lock - the fridge nearest the wall leaked all week - we had to buy a plunger and some solution to unblock the shower drain - security needs attention - door code has stayed the same each of our visits and there is no provision to lock yourselves in so we didn’t feel entirely safe at night and tried to barricade the front door. If there was a fire with the windows all locked upstairs and no keys escaping would not be easy. Again we had a leaking shower and the kitchen cupboard and glasses cupboard had dead spiders in and particularly the glasses cupboard hadn’t been dusted for quite some time. The mop under the stairs was very smelly so we didn’t use it. Beds and bedding were good but a child’s dummy and toy was found under one of the beds in seal and pup. It was nice to have lots of frying pans and some decent oven trays. Our light (in shrimp) blew on Saturday night and we felt the switch was a bit faulty. The pool cues - some of them have no ends so are unable to be used. I’m sorry to be negative as it could be such a lovely holiday home and we have booked for next year so are hoping to see some improvements. I think some sort of book for visitors to leave messages to the cleaner/owner so they are aware of any issues as I know nothing can be improved if you’re unawares

There were 11 family members (4 generations) youngest 8 eldest 90. We all had a great time. The property has sleeping accommodation for 20, however, we all said that because of limited bathroom facilities, 11/12 would be optimal. We had issues with Wi-Fi, the owner responded to my messages immediately and service was resumed. Maybe ready for a bit of an upgrade and a good spring cleaning, but we were on holiday!!! so who cares 😂🤔😂 overall great stay.

Fantastic birthday weekend with the family. The house was ideal, plenty of space, close to the beach and the veranda is a great outdoor space. Will definitely be coming back

We have returned from another wonderful stay at Queen Mary House in Sheringham, the third or fourth stay there, we think. The accommodations is large, clean and homely - an ideal gathering place for us, our children and grandchildren. The location offers everything within easy distance, from coastal walks to trips into quaint, unspoilt Sheringham itself with its steam railway small, independent shops and restaurants. We’ve not been disappointed yet.

We gathered for an 80th birthday weekend. Everyone aged 7 - 80 loved the accommodation. The location worked really well for us.

Good property for a large group, clean, well equipped and spacious. Superb view and lovely walks on the doorstep. Fun games room. Property agent issues but once we got hold of Mark our problems were quickly sorted.

This was our 2nd time using the house as it’s so perfect for large group gatherings. 17 of us and plenty of space. On using the oven we remembered from the last visit that it’s not great and takes forever to cook the food. Other minor issues are a fridge door which often jams and the bathrooms/drains bit smelly on arrival. Otherwise it is a great house with comfy beds. Location perfect for nice walks and access to shops. Recommend the fishχps from Dave’s and a lovely curry from Labone.

We stayed in this amazing property for a large 80th birthday celebration. What a wonderful place it is. Very spacious and comfortable with THE most stunning views of the sea. The photographs don’t do it justice. Would 100 % recommend. Thankyou very much

This property is absolutely superb for a family reunion. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped, nothing we needed was missing, and there was plenty of cutlery and crockery. Plenty of comfortable seating and a huge dining table! Views from property and access to beach both brilliant. All round winner!

Not the first nor hopefully the last time we stay. We booked for a belated Xmas get together and it did not disappoint. A great seating area for us all to eat and play games along with the relaxing lounge area too. Oh and the view….. stunning!

We have stayed at this property on a few occasions always at Christmas and have always had a good time, the property is well equipped for the number of us and a great location, we did find the cooker took a long time to get things done but we put things in earlier so got used to that the only other thing was that he drains in top floor Bathrooms were quite smelly at times, other than that another great stay.

We had a lovely weekend at Queen marys house in sheringham, the house was clean and spacious, it had all the facilities we could require and the location was beautiful

A lot of my family work in retail, so as we live miles apart it is so hard for us to get together at Christmas so we always have an early family Christmas weekend. All 20 of us had a great weekend and had plenty of room to move around without being on top of one another it was so good we are thinking about doing it again next year. The property was nice and roomy just a little problem with the oven, to took forever to cook which meant we was trying to cook our Christmas dinner all day, may be the thermostat needs checking but overall we all had a good time.

We were quite a diverse family group of all ages but were able to arrange ourselves, in nice family groupings, as well as singles and couples in this large property. There is ample room to spread out and the facilities are very good; plenty of toilets and bathrooms and a very good sized kitchen, plenty of equipment.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week at Queen Mary's House, all 18 of us crossing 3 generations and ample room for everyone as well as the dog!
The house was lovely and clean with fresh bed linen and stunning sea views. We really appreciated the double oven for cooking family meals as well as the two fridges and dishwashers! The children enjoyed the top floor games room too. - a most comfortable and practical house for a large family group.
The house has a prime position overlooking the sea and right next to Beestons Bump - great for the runners in our family! Sheringham has so much to offer and we enjoyed many beach walks in the October sunshine. Many thanks from us all.
Donna, Duncan and family.

Perfect house for a large family gathering. Bright, light with stunning sea views. Child friendly with everything you need to care for a crowd. The most sensibly equipped house for a family stay I’ve ever visited. Thank you for the perfect venue to celebrate my birthday.

Perfect property for large family gatherings or large parties of friends. Very comfortably furnished, extremely clean and well equipped. Superb view of the sea from large terrace.

Great position - perfect for beach and town.
Sea views to die for .
Well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Plenty of seating around the table and sofas.
Only one comment - there is a big old chair that looks out of place with the modern decor and it is not very clean !
The room would look much better without it.
Thank you ,however, for a great stay - we would not hesitate to return.

We love our holidays here! The house ticks all the boxes we need for a family of 14 aged from 1-69 and a dog! Already looking forward to returning next year!

Lovely big house and kitchen facilities are great for big parties. Freezer could’ve done with a defrost and both dishwashers needed rinse aid which we purchased and filled. Nice to have basics provided to start you off. Don’t know how long the cleaners are given to clean inbetween guests but found a dead fly and spider on the floor of one bedroom. Lovely to have the beds made up and hand towels provided in the bathrooms. Could do with more tea towels in the kitchen. Couldn’t find any kitchen scissors so bought a couple of pairs and have left them there. Have already booked for next year and really looking forward to it.
Could do with the tv signal being looked at as most of the time you could not watch anything in the evening.

Once again we have had a great stay . Lots of space for all the family only eleven of us this time, we have had twenty off us stay comfortably in this hoilday home before. Close to the beach and town so you can walk. Lots of places to visit near by. Easy to travel to by car only parking spaces for two cars outside the front door but plenty of street parking, walking distance from the railway station The people are very friendly. Will go back again.

Great for groups
This was our fourth stay at QMH - that's probably all you need to hear as an endorsement! The location is fabulous, the house is spacious, well equipped and has always been more than adequate for the 20 of us. The owner is communicative and helpful and the house is clean. Checkin/out straightforward too. Would recommend without hesitation.

The property is well kept, well equipped with a big balcony overlooking the beach. It is the second time we have taken the whole family and in a great position close to the beach and town. They all love it there. Just a minor point - the grass and weeds beyond the balcony could do with cutting back as slightly spoils the view

Fantastic family holiday!
The property was even better in real life than online, we had a fantastic week and an excellent family reunion, 3 generations all under one roof lots of space and so close to the beautiful clean beach, and all local amenities, the North Norfolk railway, some lovely villages, we had such a great time, would definitely stay again!*****

Went to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday with our children and grandchildren. The house was in an excellent location and was more than expected. There were 16 of us in total from aged 6 to 70 and we never felt overcrowded anywhere in the house. There was plenty of room to relax and eat and we all enjoyed the games room.
